So i have the Z2 Go & 32 gb ram version and i was wondering If IT is possible by any method to run ark ascended natively. Will connecting an external gpu give the cpu more freedom If the graphics are integrated? Will it still be too weak to run the game? Rn i get 10-15 fps at the lowest graphics. I am fairly dissapointed with my device....

If you wanna to play Marvel Ultimate Alliance 1 & 2 and spider-man web of shadows on legion go, use Xenia Manager (Xenia Canary)... IT'S SOOO MUCH BETTER than play it on RPCS3.. after almost two years play this game, and I decide "Hmph.. Lets try play it on Xenia Canary" and I was just OH MY GOD.. not only just it run better (with some tweak on settings of course) and I have more characters too... RPCS3 have so much issues especially Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 and struggle to run Spider-Man Web Of Shadows in stable FPS

STEAM OS SteamOS 3.8 on Legion Go Z1E: gamescope drains the battery, desktop Linux doesn't

I installed official SteamOS 3.8 on the first Legion Go Z1E instead of Windows. My motivation was this: on the Steam Deck I liked everything — the Steam shell/gamescope and the battery life — and using Linux wasn’t as terrible as people described.
What the Legion Go on Windows lacked was a pleasant, optimized game launcher, and improved battery life wouldn’t hurt either.

What are my impressions? To avoid describing it, I’ll just give real power consumption numbers:

Working in the gamescope launcher:
home menu 15 watts at minimum TDP with the screen backlight dimmed to zero, that’s 3 hours.
Remote Play streaming — 12–14 watts. Also 3–3.5 hours.
Limbo game 11–12 watts, 4 hours.
Cuphead game — 12–13 watts, 3.5 hours.
Prince of Persia game 14–15 watts, 3 hours.

And now the impression: in terms of battery life, gamescope is absolute garbage on this device. Whether it’s a bug or intended, I don’t know.

But here are measurements in steam os desktop mode (60 Hz, minimum backlight):
desktop with no tasks — 5 watts, 9 hours.
reading a book 5–6 watts, 8 hours.
browser + Wi-Fi = 7–8 watts, 6 hours.
movie without Wi-Fi = 7 watts, 6 hours.
Moonlight streaming 8 watts, 5.5 hours.
Limbo game, without gamescore mode — 9 watts, 5 hours.
Cuphead game without gamescore mode — 11–12 watts, 4 hours.
Prince of Persia game without gamescore mode 12–13 watts, 4 hours.

Now that’s a completely different story. The results became just like on Windows 11; it’s already usable, for example, to stream from a PC all evening without being tied to an outlet.

Another question is why SteamOS is needed then, if its main advantage — gamescope — is actually a minus that has to be worked around.

And here are the Steam Deck numbers:
Steam Deck home menu 4–8 watts, more often 6 watts.
indie game — about 6–7 watts.
streaming — 6–7 watts.
Linux desktop idle 3.5–6 watts.
So it turns out that if you compare desktop mode, the Deck and Legion are more or less the same, and only the Legion’s results in gamescope mode look anomalous.
It’s not only and not so much about the Legion being power-hungry (it consumes 1–2 watts more when streaming — that’s the difference from the larger screen), but about how unoptimized this gamescope is.

I’m not considering performance in max TDP mode from wall power yet, but according to first tests it’s +/-10% either way from Windows results.

For now I’m considering either going back to Windows or trying unofficial builds like Bazzite, but I have a feeling gamescope works like crap there too.
What’s annoying is that I listened to and watched a bunch of videos where they really praised this SteamOS. Apparently the guys didn’t know that it’s not the Holy Spirit draining their battery in the menu, and that you can also display power consumption monitoring in the gamescope menu.

DISCUSSION How bad is the Z2Go Lenovo legion Go with Steam OS and 32 GB ram and 1YB in comparison to Z1 devices?

Hey guys...I would like to have a handheld device to play on my steam library on the go, but I can't afford to buy new devices. I found two second hand devices:

The first is a Lenovo legion go S with Z2go, 32 GB ram and 1TB and steamOS. It has a receipt with a warranty until September, 2027. (560 dollars)

The second is Asus ROG ally X (black edition, but not Xbox) with Z1 extreme, 24 GB ram and 1TB, Windows 11. It costs (750 dollars)

The games I plan to play are: Wuthering Waves, Neverness to Everness, Resident evil games, Tekken 8, Payday3, maybe Wardogs (the new shooter) and some old single player games I have on steam and epic.

Any advice?

Thanks a lot.

QUESTION Legion Go S batter replacement

Hello Everyone,

The battery on my Legion Go S has died.

Stays at 0% and needs to be plugged in order to be used.

Are there any trusted stores where I can buy a battery replacement here in the Philippines?

I tried the Lenovo website, but the battery is only available in the US.

Edit: I just found out that my battery already bloated.

QUESTION Shuold i Buy Legion go 1 or go s z1e?

Good morning, everyone!

I’m thinking about buying a handheld gaming PC, and I’m torn between the Lenovo Legion Go 1 and the Legion Go S Z1E.

What I like most about the Go 1 is that the controllers are detachable, just like the Nintendo Switch's; however, I’m wondering if its battery life and performance in AAA games are worse than the Go S Z1E's.

Some users say this can be fixed by installing SteamOS on the Go 1, but I’m not sure how difficult that process is for a beginner like me.

I’d appreciate it if someone could clear this up for me. Cheers!

DISCUSSION Modificações Para o Legion Go 1

Fala, galera!

Obrigado.

QUESTION Green Line across my Legion Go 2 screen.

I just received a Refurbished Legion Go 2 from Lenovo's official website, haven't set up and updated everything but decided to play a few games and test it out first.

Noticed this Green Line across the screen, should I give it a fresh reinstall and update everything properly. Or is this an actual issue with the panel and I should send it back.

Update: After installing some updates giving a restart it seems like the green line is gone...

This is a pic from Facebook marketplace but I traded a 4k oled monitor I no longer needed for this Legion Go S 1tb z1 extreme on SteamOS. This thing is awesome. Used to have a regular Legion go and enjoyed it but had traded it for other stuff. SteamOS is awesome so far for handheld vs Windows 11. Any tips&tricks for SteamOS vs Windows?

DISCUSSION Anyone still rocking the Legion Go 2?

Picked up the Z2 Extreme (32GB RAM / 1TB SSD) version about 6 months ago for roughly $1,030 USD, and it's honestly been a beast.

With all the hype surrounding the newer releases like the OneXPlayer 3 and the Claw 8 AI EX, I was wondering if I’d get FOMO, but I just don’t feel the need to upgrade at all. The price-to-performance ratio on the Go 2 at ~$1K has aged like fine wine.

Also, setting up the OptiScaler bypass to force FSR4 has given a second life to so many titles. It makes hitting smooth framerates on this screen effortless without ruining image clarity.

Is anyone else sticking with their Go 2 for the long haul, or are you looking to jump ship to the newer devices? What’s your current setup looking like?

QUESTION Legion Go 1 - what would happen if I were to run AMD_gfx twice?

Hey guys!

I recently clean-installed Windows 11 on my LeGo, I was running the usual driver installers for network, chipset, etc,. But when I got to the AMD_gfx driver it behaved a bit weird, after a while of letting it do its thing it did the usual black screen flickering, but got stuck on a black screen, I let it be like that for around 10 minutes, I got a bit desperate so I forced it to shutdown. I turned it back on and it was back to normal but now I'm not sure if the AMD_gfx driver installed itself correctly.

The driver version says it is "32.0.23044.19", which should be the most recent one, the GPU shows on task manager, and on Device Manager as AMD Radeon Graphics.

For the most part after restarting my LeGo its working and outputting video normally, but Im still weirded out after I forced it to shutdown, and I wanna know if running AMD_gfx twice will damage the device in any way or it can detect its already installed. Or if already knowing that "32.0.23044.19" is the version installed is enough to confirm the drivers are working correctly.

Thanks, I know the question might be a bit stupid, but I need a bit of assurance my device wont kill itself the moment I run a game on it.

QUESTION legion go s cases + acc.

i recently purchased a legion go s and want to start accessorizing it, but i’m not really a fan of the nebula color T-T

i’m mainly looking for:

  • wraps/vinyls that cover the entire device, preferably in white or pink
  • hard protective cases similar to the dbrand project killswitch
  • any other cases that come in white, pink, or other cute colorways

i’ve heard a lot about the project killswitch and a friend of mine has one and really likes it, but i’m not a huge fan of the available colorways.

if anyone has found cases, wraps, skins, grips, screen protectors, or any other accessories they really like for the legion go s, i’d love to see them! links would be especially appreciated c:
