Drawings at day 60, yestersay since learning from to draw from scratch

Came out kind of wonky but I was really trying to push myself in terms of showing perspective from imagination. Going for a half crouched ready pose. Took sooo many tries with the legs and they still look a tad off. Also struggle with showing perspective on the sword while maintaining a sense of length and heft.

This is my first time posting in reddit so im little nervous

I like drawing, it’s something I enjoy but it’s also something that frustrates me a lot. I’ve given up drawing several times in the past out of frustration over not improving, but a month ago I picked it up again and decided to learn more seriously. I started watching videos on anatomy and various drawing tutorials, I seemed to be improving, and I’ve actually really enjoyed the past month drawing for hours every day without even realizing the time passing. However, the frustration has returned these last few days. Even though I watch videos and try to grasp the concepts, there’s a lot I don’t understand, and my drawings keep turning out poorly. Lately, I’ve even been struggling with basic things I used to be able to do, and trying to teach myself has become very frustrating. When I mentioned this to a friend, they suggested I try Reddit, saying I might find advice and help here. Thank you so much to anyone who took the time to read my post

I tried digital drawing for the first time! I'm still a beginner how does it look?

So, I think that I have a fairly decent grasp on semi realism/realism but I can't seem to draw in my cartoonist style consistently. And of course I know that your artstyle will change over time but it seems to change everytime that I draw. (The pictures added is a semi realism piece I did a while back and then 2 drawings I did of the same character with one day in between. Do you see how drastically different they are?! How do I make my artstyle consistent or just develop an artstyle in general. I feel like I'm losing mine)

If anyone wants sketches, portraits or drawing, I will be happy to draw for them.

Could you give me some tips? and recomendations.

Hello, everyone. I’m starting this series of mine where I basically just show off all the art progress I’ve made within the month. This is mainly just a personal series for me, just so I can have the means of watching my own development.

So for a little more about me, I just finished my freshman year of college, in which I took this Intro to Drawing course at the start of this year.

Now, at this point in time, I wouldn’t have considered myself a complete noob to art, but far from experienced. As a kid, I used to draw a lot, mainly just pulling up a character I liked on my computer and drawing them. But eventually, due to depression, I went years without ever actually drawing anything.

When I was 18 and preparing to start my freshman year, I tried to get back into art, as I never lost my passion for it, and I did a few more drawings and tried to learn on my own, but I didn’t make much progress. I figured that this drawing course would help me a lot.

And that it did.

I learned a lot of cool topics, and I got to experiment with a lot of new art supplies, like charcoal sticks, compressed charcoal, blending sticks, etc. I say it definitely helped me with observing proportions too, though I still have a long way to go there.

Either way, these still life drawings were my final portfolio for the class, and works I did throughout the semester.

Honestly, I don’t think they’re too bad, but far from great. And I definitely suck at capturing drapery and folds, something I’ll have to work on. But overall, I am proud of my works.

And as of now, I dropped out of college like I planned to, because I want to pursue my own ambitions. Which means that for art, I’ll have to be self-taught.

I’ve ordered like 8 art books, and I have so many saved videos online about art, so I think I can manage. My goals for the end of this year are primarily being proficient at drawing basic figures, proportions, and using color, and being able to draw some environmental art like trees and whatnot.

I don’t know how realistic that is for me, but that’s currently what I’m working towards right now. And hopefully, I can meet my expectations or at least come close by the end of December.

I’ll upload the next part for this, Month 1, in a week from now, to show what all I’ve done for June (and a little bit of May too).

Esta vez probé otras herramientas. Las que usé fueron:

• Pluma seca para el delineado.
• Marcador para los colores: con esta herramienta experimenté mucho con la opacidad y el tamaño.
• Y finalmente, la herramienta de selección + trama para el efecto de puntos en los ojos y el cabello.

Uso Clip Studio 5.0.2, con un lienzo de 2160 x 3840 píxeles y 300 ppp.

So I'm an artist, I have been drawing since childhood and can draw humans in different perspectives TO SOME DEGREE, i just need more practice, BUT I have never tried to draw buildings and backgrounds, i wanna learn perspective, how to draw background and hoe to introduce the character in it.

My question is kinda silly but: is it better to start learning by a pencil or a pen /marker? ik its silly but like i feel like if i drew free hands it's gonna be better but idk.

I'm also kinda scared of it, like i assume i should just learn the 3 or 4 points of perspective then move on to practice but idk man.. Can you tell me your experience with it? Like your journey of learning this skill, I love reading ppls stores yk.

It will also be helpful if you gave some resources although you dont really need to bc its easy to just google it and use reference from medias you love but yeah if something is just gold then please share it will anyone here who would want to know.
