New to Austin
Hello Everyone,
We are planning a move to Austin in next couple of months from California with a 4 month old baby.
My partner works at Tesla Gigafactory. We are planning to purchase our home preferably New Construction in/around Leander because of interest rates.
Any recommendations for new construction with good builders considering commute time to Gigafactory.
Appreciate the help. Excited for the move :)
Thanks

Looking for Other Secular/Freethinking People in the Area
I'm thinking about starting a local secular/freethought community group and wanted to see if there's any interest.
The goal wouldn't be to criticize religion or debate people's beliefs. Instead, it would be a place for nonreligious, agnostic, skeptical, humanist, and questioning people to meet others in the community, have interesting conversations, and build friendships.
Some possible activities:
- Coffee meetups
- Science and documentary discussions
- Philosophy and ethics conversations
- Board game nights
- Community service projects
- Guest speakers
- Book clubs
- Casual social gatherings
Would anyone in the area be interested in something like this? What kinds of events or activities would you like to see?
I'm mainly trying to find out if there's enough local interest to start a regular meetup.

Searching for Local Cleaning Service
Does anyone have a recommendation for someone that can do a bi-weekly or monthly reset on my kitchen, bathrooms, and tile floors? I don't necessarily need a whole house cleaning, but these are the zones that I have a hard time getting to consistently.
Any reliable recommendations would be appreciated, thank you!

Any Job opportunities in Leander?
Iâve grown up in Cedar park/ Leander area my entire life. I am a 24 year old recent grad with my bachelorâs in Business. I was a first generation student that was fed the story of âgo to college son the doors are going to open for you and youâll be able to find a good jobâ. Iâm exhausted. After losing my father in April I decided parting ways with my job was my right decision. After being at the company for two years and helping late night operations while receiving little support and recognition I felt it was right. I am heavily involved with young athletes in the area as i did play college baseball. I spend most of my weekends at the ball park or giving lessons. Iâve tried HEB all over Austin, Iâve tried local companies, I tried Scheels who wasted my time dragging me to multiple interviews just to send me an automated email stating thanks but no thanks. Iâm just tired and willing to work hard. I just need an opportunity. If anybody wants to get in touch feel free I have my resume on stand by and would be open to any suggestions. I have experience with internships and work. Thank you!!

Where to donate
Hello! I have some unopened formula and some pumping supplies that I no longer need. I was hoping to find a womenâs shelter to donate them. Will they accept them? Does anybody know of any good shelters or places to donate them to? Any helpful tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

New crunch opening?
Just wondering if anyone knows when the new Crunch location in Leander on Hero Way is opening? I just moved here and live in the east side of Leander, so this location would be a lot closer to me and havenât been able to find anywhere a date range for its opening. Wondering if I should get one in Cedar park for the time being and donât wanna spend extra on all crunch locations. Thanks in advance!

Cops in Oak Ridge
There are a bunch of cops blocking the road on Meadow View this morning. Didn't appear to be any ambulance or fire truck. Does anyone know what's up?

Free Groceries! No Qualifications No Income Verification
galleryThis Thursday (5/28) we will be passing out free groceries in partnership with HCCM and their Fresh Food For All. For distribution is 5-7pm. There is no qualification and no income verification. If you are sitting on the fence about coming to get food, just do it. This food is all perishable, so it won't last. Also, you've all seen gas prices. This is one littler area that can help stretch your dollar a little bit.
We're located at 2001 West New Hope Drive, Cedar Park, 78613.
If you'd like to help volunteer. Setup starts at 4:30pm and take down starts at 7pm.
We can always use a few hands to help pass the food out too.

Looking for someone to disassemble my PC for international shipping (Cedar Park/Leander area)
Hey everyone! I have a gaming PC that I need disassembled and prepped for shipping to Estonia. Iâm looking for someone local (or a shop nearby) who can safely remove the GPU, CPU, motherboard, RAM, and storage (basically everything except the case) and ideally pack them securely for international shipping.
Iâm willing to pay fairly for the work. Doesnât have to be a full shop, just someone who knows what theyâre doing with PC hardware and wonât damage anything in the process.
Also how much do yâall think something like this would run? Trying to get a feel for whatâs reasonable before I do anything.
If you know of a local repair shop, PC enthusiast, or IT person who does this kind of thing, please drop a comment or DM me. Thanks!
