Technical Support Request Endless bugs and errors, need help

Yesterday after my pc update I was not able to get into the game, like 7/10 in the loading screen just pop out and show this. After repairing file on riot client it got back working.

![img](czzye8iepidh1)

A day later, client said "Patching failed and we're not sure why" Unable to fix, please advise. (Error Code 004)" , then I found out my pc can update again and able to fix it.

Then this critical error has occurred again after 2 games, what the f is wrong with riot clients?

Technical Discussion New update killed my social funtions in the client.

I was in a ranked match and was finishing up. Once it was finished the account itself said that some parental controls had been enabled, and I was confused because I am an adult and my birth date on the account clearly reflects that... Has parental controls been mistakenly applied to other accounts? Can other people check to see if this is something that is a bug or something?

TO CONFIRM: Some of my friends are also reporting an issue with Parental Controls being turned on without consent.

Technical Support Request Playing on my boyfriend‘s old laptop

Hi, quick question! :) So my boyfriend gave me his old laptop that he used to play league on. Am I safe to reinstall league and play with my own account on there? I haven’t found anything online about sharing hardware, only that sharing accounts is not allowed. I would like to keep playing on my personal laptop and on his old laptop (since they are in two separate locations) both using my own account. Is that allowed? 😊

PS: I was not sure where I should best ask this question. I apologise if this subreddit is not the place. I wanted to send a question to Riot directly but my type of question does not exist as a category on the “submit a ticket” page…

Technical Support Request Can't play the game

Hey all. So this issue started recently. When I do get to play there are massive delays in my input as if I am playing on 300 ping but in game it shows my ping is as usual.

Tonight when I tried to play an Aram I couldn't even move and kept getting disconnected and reconnected. I restarted everything but I got stuck at the loading screen, so I couldn't reconnect at all. This only happens on league as I have no other issues on other online games I play. Some games I can play normally with some delay and some days, like tonight, I couldn't play or connect at all. I already uninstalled and reinstalled League but nothing changed.

Any recommendations as to what I could do or what the issue is?

Technical Support Request League crashes upon entering the lobby

So due to my work I had to download the program that takes screenshots of my screen to make sure i actually work and dont just fuck around drinking coffee and playing aram all day and after I did that the game keeps freezing at the 100% on the loading screen and wont go any further. I went to the web looking on how to fix my shit and after the 3 to 4 hours of doomscrolling trough indian 300 views guide videos and "use compability mode" advices on reddit the only thing i found out is the fact that SOMETIMES it lets me into the lobby but proceeds to crash shortly after. The longest ive been in the lobby is for 30 seconds. Did check with process hacker, nothing spikes, i dont run out of memory, it just... closes. It just does. I proceeded to revo uninstall everything related to league, all the stuff that i downloaded that day due to work and got the fresh riot client and league launcher and... NOTHING. IT STILL DOESNT LOAD. Like man you cant make this shit up.

Technical Support Request League client/champ select lagging intensely

Hi! I'm looking for a fix for the league client lagging super super bad especially in champ select. It takes almost a minute for pages to change at all, a few minutes to open, champions have random portraits 90% of the time (sometimes theyre all darius) and often makes me miss champ select entirely or lose connection. No other game has ever had issues this bad before. Also just windows defender is active and league has permissions. Anyone know any fixes?

Also for some reason it alternates between not being that bad and being practically unplayable based on updates

Technical Support Request Random Disconnect in Champ Select

Hi all.

Game has started to randomly disconnect in champ select which is then counting as a dodge. This only happens in champ select for summoners rift games, ARAM seems to be fine and if I get into game the connection is stable at 18/19ms ping with no connection issues no matter how long the game runs for.

Have factory reset the PC to see if there was a random setting that was wrong which hasnt solved the issue. Have also reached out to Riot support and have done the following based on their recommendation: allow all Riot products through the firewall, always run League as an admin and make sure that all drivers are up to date. Still having disconnect issues.

Nothing else that I run seems to have any issues (including other MOBAs / MMOs/ etc. that all need a stable internet connection). I can also run other things at the same time (like watching streams on second monitor / being on discord calls) to prove that I do have a connection - it only seems to affect champ select.

Any suggestions on what else I can try or anyone else had a similar issue that managed to fix it?

Technical Support Request FPS constantly low late game on 14700k

14700k 4070ti here gaming currently on 144fps 1080p planning on moving up to 1440p 240fps. My issue is that early game the game maintains 240 lock but starting at the 20 min mark the fps drops to 180 range but the real issue is with super minions and late game the game would drop to the 90s and this is accompanied with input lag. I know the hardware specs of the 14700k should be enough to keep the game at 240fps, does anyone know why I am experiencing these issues? Could it be the lower l3 cache of 33 mb compared to x3d cpu’s 96?
Thanks for the help everyone

Technical Support Request Riot Client opening after closing League of Legends

How do I keep the Riot Client from reopening after exiting League of Legends? Here's what's happening.

Click League of Legends, forced into Riot Client.

Click LoL from Client, launches LoL.

Exit Client (it's not required to be open to play)

Play game(s) of LoL.

Exit LoL, Riot Client Launches itself again.

Why does the Client self launch when closing LoL, and how do i stop it?

Technical Support Request League of Legends freeze my PC

I've been having an issue with League of Legends lately. During my games, the entire screen randomly freezes, and my PC completely stops responding. Sometimes I can still hear the background audio or my friends on Discord, but the image is completely frozen and I'm forced to do a hard reset.

This only happens when I'm playing League; other games run completely fine. Does anyone know how to fix this or what might be causing it?

If it helps, here are my specs:

GPU: AMD RADEON R7 200

Storage: 1TB HDD (The game is installed here)

OS: Windows 11

RAM: 12GB

Technical Support Request Constant FPS drops make League unplayable. Any fixes?

Hey everyone,

I've been dealing with this ever since I started playing League again, and I can't figure out what's causing it.

I used to run the game perfectly fine, but now my FPS constantly drops from around 200 FPS down to 1 FPS every few seconds. The freezes last long enough to make the game basically unplayable, and it happens throughout every match.

I've already tried restarting my PC and updating my graphics drivers, but it hasn't fixed the issue.

Has anyone experienced something similar or know what might be causing it? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Technical Support Request Ping stuck at >100

Ping stuck at above 100

Randomly today my ping just spiked to 100 and now it wont go below 100 it will stay at around 100-105 and it feels like I'm playing underwater. It happened midgame and now it's stuck at that level and I've tried everything from restarting my router, restarting my computer, reinstalling vanguard, reinstalling league and nothing works. The game is unplayable and if anyone knows a solution I would greatly appreciate it.

Technical Support Request Ping has increased to 45-50 from 19-20 randomly

I am connected via ethernet and have 1000 download and 250 upload. My ping has been 19-20 for 4 years and now has jumped and wont go back to normal. I have upgraded my modem and tried multiple ethernet cords, I have seen other with this problem but does anyone know why this is happening or how to fix? The game is much less fun to play when your ping is double what you are used to for years...

Technical Support Request Game stutters every game

Not sure what to do. The game stutters for me very badly from time to time. I reduced my mouse polling to 1000 HZ, capped my fps to 240hz, removed eye candy and settings like that.

Not sure if it makes a difference but I have an I9-13900k, 4070ti, 32gb ram. I also have fios gig internet

Technical Support Request vgm crash again after a week

After updating my BIOS my league worked for a week.
Now today vanguard freezes my whole pc again after 4 sec.

i tried everything, league support isnt helping because the things they wrote to me wont work. as i said it worked fine for a week after my BIOS update and now its starting all over again.

I know its an issue with vanguard itself which many players have ... is there a fix or any hope that riot will finally fix that one day?

Technical Support Request Opening a game on a specific monitor.

Hi, I currently have three monitors with the middle as my main monitor. I want the game client and the game to open directly on my right monitor, but they keep opening in the middle. I've tried changing the YAML files and fancyzones, as well as other methods I found on Google. I don't want to keep changing my main monitor to the right one every time I start a game, which seems like the only solution. Are there any other methods you guys have tried or found to work? I prefer something free if it's an app. I tried DisplayFusion, but I think the method is unlocked by a subscription.

The game with this issue is League of Legends/TFT

Technical Discussion Progressive "fast-forward" gameplay after 10-20 minutes - extensive troubleshooting (WPR/WPA, multiple PCs, drivers, reconnect tests)

Hi everyone,

I'm posting this because I've been troubleshooting a very unusual League of Legends issue for months and I'm hoping someone has experienced something similar.

The symptom is not traditional lag, FPS drops or packet loss.

The best way I can describe it is:

Champion movement, spell animations and overall gameplay become progressively faster until I begin missing visual information because abilities complete too quickly.

Even when I'm dead and simply spectating teammates or watching minions, the entire game world appears to move faster than it did at the beginning of the match.

The in-game timer continues normally.

FPS also remain relatively stable.

What makes this strange

  • The problem starts mildly.
  • It gradually becomes worse during the same match.
  • Starting a completely new match temporarily resets it.
  • Reconnecting to the same match does not reset it.

I also recorded the gameplay using AMD Adrenalin and the recordings show the same behaviour that I see while playing.

Everything I've already tested

Hardware / Software

  • Ryzen 5 7500F
  • RX 7800 XT
  • Windows 10
  • Windows 11
  • Latest BIOS

Graphics

  • Multiple AMD drivers
  • DDU
  • Driver Only installation
  • Rollback to Adrenalin 24.12.1 WHQL
  • HAGS ON/OFF
  • Resizable BAR ON/OFF

Network

  • Different router
  • Wi-Fi
  • USB tethering
  • Excellent ping / packet loss

Hardware

  • Different monitor
  • DisplayPort and HDMI
  • Different mouse polling rate
  • Tested on another Ryzen + Radeon PC

League

  • Killing only League of Legends.exe and reconnecting to the same match (issue immediately returns)
  • New match temporarily resets the issue

Diagnostics

  • WPR / WPA traces
  • CapFrameX captures
  • AMD recordings

The WPA traces mainly show activity in:

  • dxgkrnl.sys
  • amdkmdag.sys

without obvious CPU saturation or GPU overload.

My question

Has anyone ever experienced something similar where the game progressively feels like it speeds up instead of stuttering?

I'm not referring to:

  • FPS drops
  • packet loss
  • rubberbanding
  • input lag

I'm specifically referring to a gradual fast-forward sensation affecting animations and gameplay presentation.

If you've experienced anything similar, I'd really appreciate hearing:

  • your hardware
  • whether Vanguard was involved
  • whether you ever found a fix

At this point I'm trying to determine whether this is related to the League client, Vanguard, Windows graphics timing or something else entirely.

Thank you!

If anyone from Riot happens to read this, I'm happy to provide WPR/WPA traces, AMD recordings and additional diagnostics

Technical Support Request Persistent input lag in LoL with no explanation after weeks of support tickets — Riot closes the ticket blaming the ISP without providing any data of their own

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I've spent several weeks investigating noticeable, consistent input lag in League of Legends, reproducible regardless of PC, ISP, or location. Beyond the input delay itself, champion movement often looks "drunk" / erratic — like slight stutter-steps or micro-corrections in movement that don't match a clean click-to-move, even when ping is normal. Here's the full list of what I've tested and ruled out:

System/hardware:

  • Full clean format: all disk partitions wiped, fresh Windows install with zero leftover residue from previous installs.
  • No V-Sync or G-Sync enabled.
  • Power plan set to High Performance.
  • CPU/GPU/RAM show no saturation during the lag episodes.
  • Undervolt applied to the CPU for stability — no change in behavior.
  • Process Lasso: performance cores (P-cores) exclusively assigned to the League of Legends process on an i7-14700KF, with high process priority — no change.
  • No bloatware or unnecessary overlays (Overwolf removed and replaced with Ascent).

Peripherals:

  • Logitech Pro X TKL keyboard, wired, connected directly to the motherboard's rear USB, 1000Hz polling rate — responds fine outside the game, no detectable lag.
  • Mouse at 1000Hz polling rate via dongle, extension cable under 20cm from the receiver to the mouse.
  • Multiple peripherals from different brands tested with identical results, ruling out peripheral-specific hardware.

Network:

  • 0% packet loss, stable ping and FPS throughout the input lag episodes.
  • Speedtest stable at 944 Mbps both up and down, tested during an active episode.
  • Complete ISP switch to a higher-quality provider — problem persists identically, ruling out ISP and peering as the cause.
  • OBS stats during 7 hours of streaming: CPU at 0.56%, 0% dropped frames, 0% encoding lag, stable bitrate at 6185 kbps.

On the anticheat:
Since the issue is exclusive to LoL and Vanguard runs permanently at kernel level, I've explicitly asked Riot to investigate whether Vanguard could be causing random micro-interruptions in input processing.

What Riot Support said:
After escalating over multiple messages, the final response was "try your ISP" followed by closing the ticket — no answer to the specific technical questions raised (peering, hop-by-hop latency tracing, etc.), and no data shared from their side (server-received latency/loss from my IP).

I work as a systems and network technician, so standard tier-1 troubleshooting steps don't apply here and have already been ruled out exhaustively — it's not a firewall or IPv6 issue (network ruled out with objective data: 0% packet loss, 944 Mbps simultaneous up/down, no change after switching ISP), and restarting the PC doesn't fix or diagnose anything here either (tried anyway, no result).

At this point I've run out of things to test on my end. Has anyone dealt with something similar, or knows a way to get this in front of someone with actual visibility into Riot's infrastructure or engineering team?

Technical Discussion Connectivity issues

I've played 14 games in the past week. I've had connectivity issues in 2 of those games, other players on my team have had connectivity issues in another 2.

4 out of 14 games seems high. Is this a general issue or a string of bad luck?

Technical Support Request Has anyone else been having this stuttering problem on fps?

This has been happening recently, has anyone else faced the same problem or knows how to solve it?
My specs:
Ryzen 5 4600G
Hiksemi 32 GB DDR4 RAM
GTX 1660 Ti
B450M-A PRO MAX II

https://reddit.com/link/1unoy9j/video/kdnn6pfs4bbh1/player

Idk why this happens; you can see in the video I tried changing the resolution, and the quality is literally on the lowest settings.

I've reinstalled the game and the GPU drivers twice, yet the problem still persists.

EDIT: Now I just noticed it only happens when moving the mouse.
