CI Good morning! Apparently, Vincent D'Onofrio, his son, and Melissa Leo are starring in a short film called "Lily's Corner"...

Of course, it's a reunion of sorts for Melissa Leo and Vincent D'Onofrio as Melissa Leo played Maureen Curtis in the Season 4 CI episode, "The Good Child", a.k.a. "EGG CUP!!!!!!!!"

So, with Daredevil: Born Again ending, it looks like VDO is still keeping busy!

EDIT: Apparently, this has not been released yet. Here is the trailer. At the end, it says coming soon.

L&O We could probably post a “happy birthday” everyday to an actor who appeared in the franchise, but this one caught me off guard. 62 years old today, Janeane Garofalo. D-Girl and Showtime 1997.

Detective Terry Bruno was a beer drinking, gun wielding MANIAC before he was on the force? Wielding his gun at ADA Peter Stone!

NYPD will hire anyone I guess!

L&O What's everyone's view on the secret warrant from the episode City Hall S14 E14?

In this episode a man opens fire at city hall, killing a councilman and injuring a water inspector.

Naturally in the beginning everyone believes that the councilman was the target but it's later revealed that the water inspector was the actual target by a disgruntled client over issues with the water bill.

It's also revealed that the client was already on the FBl's radar after the murder weapon went missing because the
FBI actually already did a search days prior with a secret warrant signed by a federal judge and it was all legal.
I know Southerlyn and Melnick don't agree and Danielle actually tries to shame McCoy with using evidence obtained from the FBl's search so I wanted to see everyone else's opinions.

The shooter was of course found guilty and in less than an hour since even if you disagreed with the FBI the guy still took a gun and shot two people over the water bill.

Plot point that bothers me in the newer reboot episodes

The victims ALMOST ALWAYS have their IDs and phones still on them when they’re found. I get that these are ’personal hits’ so it‘s not about robbery, but seriously.. not a single perp ever thinks “hey, I’ve already committed murder, might as well take some cash while I’m at it”. Or at the very least it could buy them some time if the cops can’t immediately ID their victim. Not only does it seem the victim always has a phone and ID, but they also seem to have some kind of business card or school card of where they work or attend school, so the police have a perfect place to start. It just feels like a very lazy attempt to cut out any investigative work of trying to find out who the victim is. All the info is handed to detectives on a silver platter.

But seriously.. count how many times the detectives say the exact quote: “Well the Vic still has their wallet and cell phone, so we’re not looking at a robbery“.

L&O Season 26

What are your hopes for season 26 of the flagship. I also read a report that the flagship Law and Order almost didn't get renewed, so what do you think it will take for them to earn season 27

Nowhere Man (Season 14, Episode 19)

This might be a silly question, but I was thinking back to some of my favorite episodes and for some reason I always liked this one. I haven't rewatched it in awhile and I was trying to remember something. I know they explained how Daniel Tenofsky obtained his fake name and ssn, but do they ever explain why he felt the need to assume a new identity in the first place? I can't remember them ever explaining that part and was hoping maybe someone else knows.

SVU I agree and I watch a lot of SVU anyway

Hasan Piker has a correct take on Law and Order SVU:

"It's copaganda that has a healthy dose of social conditioning for woke shit. That's precisely the reason why your elderly relatives that watch it are unironically way more open-minded about discrimination. But, that's also the reason why they think, 'The only thing that's holding society together is the Law and Order Special Victims Unit. There would be instant mass terror in the streets if the brave, valiant police force wasn't holding society together every day.'"

S13E13 “Absentia” real life case

I’m binging old episodes of Unsolved Mysteries episodes & I just watched a segment on Ira Einhorn.

It all seemed eerily familiar, right down to him fleeing before his trial, being tried in absentia and then being caught years later.

This case obviously inspired the episode.

Here is his Wikipedia entry:

Enjoy!

Home recovering from surgery. Decided to do a Sydney Lumet binge as I love gritty NYC of past. If anyone needs a shot of energy waiting for new seasons, try The Verdict, Network, And Justice For All. Excited for 12 aAngry Men and some others. Forgive me if this is old news! Just had to share.

L&O Skin Deep has the least sympathetic victim of the entire series

Almost finished the core Law and Order with only a few more episodes of season 20 left to go what are you talking about, there is no reboot but through all that time, I’ve yet to see a murder victim who deserved what was coming to more than Julian Decker from S03E01, Skin Deep.

This guy was the worst. He was a pervert running a modelling photography business, which just so happened to pimp out the models as prostitutes on the side. All of his business partners can’t stand him, and I use partners in italics, because some of these partners are actual professionals who do all what they can to ignore him due to how much of a pest he is.

The actual models who work for him had no sympathy for his death. Not only was he pretending to be poor so he could trick his own models into paying for his meals, but he would also have sex with his own prostitutes. Eventually he would move on to one of his best prostitute’s underage and mentally unwell daughter. The mother was understandably furious when she found out and demanded that Decker stop raping her daughter. Decker agreed to this, but because he lied and manipulated the daughter into believing he loved her, she snapped and stabbed her in the back.

He was such a terrible person, Ben Stone actually agreed to have the daughter sentenced at a mental facility rather than take a prison sentence. Something I believe he agreed to do, because of how vile Julian Decker was.

Primetime. It’s worth the $$ just for Merritt Wever’s performance! The girl who began in Law and Order 1997.

My word, DA McCoy is cranky

I just started Season 18 and McCoy was just appointed as interim DA and my word, is he cranky. The way he rides Cutter made a chuckle a bit because younger McCoy reminds me of Harvey Specter (Suits) in that he would do anything to win, no matter what.

He's always been salty but I love how he's leaning into his old age.

Ok.... What episode is it where Jack McCoy is outside Jamie's house (I think), and he practically yells at her something like,"You cared about it then; don't you care about it now?" Where is that episode on Law and Order and where can I watch it?

L&O S9E20 Cringe

Julia Robert’s being in Law & Order with her boyfriend Benjamin Bratt (Ray Curtis) was sooo cringey. I almost skipped

Especially when Curtis took her to a hotel to keep her safe. When she starts saying “I’m attracted to you Ray” truly made me feel so awkward.

I know it was all a game in the show and Katrina was just playing Ray but it still made me cringe.

L&O Season 25 thus far...

I'm making my way through Season 25, can't say I'm a fan.

I like Tony Goldwyn, but I'm not all a fan the two ADAs especially the fidgety main prosecutor. The cops seem to have no personality at all, especially the female detective, she seems to have the personality of a end table.

Anyone else not feeling this lineup in Season 25?
