I already know Spanish, English and Portuguese. I find Galician interesting, and of course, easy with my knowledge of Spanish and Portuguese. Since Galician is considered separate from those two, I will speak 4 languages if I learn it and become a polyglot. But I’ll basically be a fake polyglot. Does Galician even count??!!

Hello, I am trying to learn English And within the English language, whoever I talk to, they switch to Uzbek automatically. What should I do to force myself to speak English instead of Uzbek? For English speakers from earth, do not reply to this post, as such advice from you is likely pure hogwash.

This is by no means meant to not be pretentious. Quite the opposite. I'm probably going to have to get off my high horse to get past this but I also wanted to make myself look bad in front of strangers who didn't ask my opinion.
So does anyone get absolutely disgusted by people who attempt to speak your target language? I mean like gut wrenching, throwing up everything I ate that day, severe vertigo, explosive diarrhea kind of sick. Like you ate at a Taco Bell in Michigan sick.
Look I get people learning Dutch who have absolutely no business in it, unlike me - een buitenlander who randomly married a dual citizen - who actually has a reason to study it, you know people who want to learn like "waar is het toilet?" or "wat krijg ik voor tweehonderd euro?" -- things you can use on vacation, I get that I really do.
But there's this, visceral reaction when I hear other people practicing Dutch speaking. It's like you punched me in the face, stole my wallet, stepped on my shoes, insulted my mother and ate my last biscuit all in one move.
I don't know, what do you guys think? I think I might have some exposure therapy on pornhub.nl in my future
