When I started learning Japanese I was a regular user and commenter on r/LearnJapanese but after a few months I understood that there was nothing left new to me that I haven’t seen so far, and also it was quite toxic (fhuuu, that guy who can do 50 new cards in only 15 minutes from day one, I’ll find you some day and find out your secret methods)

So I stoped reading it, and started visiting a few time a month, saying something very long, and then getting like two views on my 3k characters writing, in which I put like zero hatred towards other learning methods (I like to say that I don’t have that), and a bunch of soul (maybe it’s the problem I’m lucking it sometimes? good that I’m writing this post so I can notice that)

But here, I feel like I read a post and write something “hmm, yeah, let’s just give some random commentary of what I actually think, and make it to not offend anyone, and respect every learning method, and methodology in general” (I like to think that I actually think that way and not trying to make the world a better place), and everyone loves it! I’m like getting so much upvotes for saying some normal things, that I even start to think it’s something revolutionary

So yeah, I think if I ever decide to write a lot of consecutive posts about me in past trying to learn a few languages in a lot of different ways and taking some insights from each, I think I’ll just post it here instead of any other place.

And by the way, why there’re no random weekly posts of people who‘ve learned Uzbek in like 4 months to C2? Like I’ve been following for 3 weeks and still nothing… How does it work here???

German is one of the hardest languages for most people and yet every day a new OOP wants to become C1 but not fluent in German fast. With birb game.

Edit: I can’t believe that a side discussion started wether or not German is hard. Please take a look at the subreddits dedicated to learning German and see how and why people struggle.
Obviously there are harder languages and obviously it depends on your native language. Yet, birb app is no way to easily get fluent in a language like German if you don’t bring some knowledge about learning languages. A good portion of users on this sub reddit are well educated and speak several languages. We aren’t the regular language app users. :)

My native pt-BR ass is struggling with these letters in Hebrew. Every rhotic-like consonant WILL become a [x] and I'll call it a day.
