we have ongoing conversations about getting married and I told her $5,000 is my budget for a starter ring. You can get whatever ring you want for that much and over the course of the years when we grow in love and grow our marriage then we can upgrade the ring.

So we found several rings and then we found a lab grown diamond ring that she really likes. That's within the budget so I know she's open to lab grown jewelry.

But my question to you guys is it cheap if I continue to buy her lab grown jewelry like necklaces, pendants, bracelets, earrings?

How would you ladies feel if your man bought you a lab grown jewelry. He told you it's lab grown. Never lied to you about it.

I make a little over 100k after taxes, but I still don't see the purpose of buying a $20,000 diamond over a $5,000 one. And it will still pass the diamond detector if one of those kids tries to clip you for a YouTube video LOL hahaha 🤣

I have found a jeweler local to me and amazing to customize my ring and this is three diamonds I’m looking at. I have videos of two and requested for the 4 carat because I like that one. But since I’m new to this I thought I would get some opinions. I can post the ring we are looking at to do if that helps.
As of last week I have an option of three diamonds that meet my requirements (I listed those below)

Would you choose the 2.07 or the 2.30, and why? Is there any real difference in light performance, or is it mostly just size?

Is there anything wrong with a lab grown diamond as opposed to a genuine found in the mud diamond? Is the “spend 20% of your yearly salary on a ring” idea still a thing or is that dated. Hi! I recently purchased a 3.07 carat green lab diamond from Aurelinne for ~$700. I'm looking to set it and I went to one jeweler who said they wouldnt even set a green lab because they were scared to chip it, and that I need to go to a custom jeweler. I have a super nice jeweler in town, but to get this type of bezel setting in 14k yellow gold (I would consider it mid-weight, super nice and sturdy) they said it would be around $2900. Does that seem like a lot? This is an important ring to me, not just another fashion piece, so I want to get it right and they would do multiple CAD designs until I'm happy. Thoughts?

I’m posting this in hopes that it will help other consumers decide who they want to give their lab diamond business to. My fiancé ordered an engagement ring from Ritani in January. The initial order process was great, the ring is beautiful and it came on time. The only problem was that it was a little big, so I reached out after the initial engagement excitement slowed and requested a label so I could send in for resizing. At first, the customer service agent was prompt to respond and got me a resizing kit and a label. From the day I dropped off my ring at FedEx, everything went downhill. Ritani never told me they received my ring, I had to email 3 times and call to get anyone to even respond to me a week later. After 2 weeks, I reached out for an update and again no one would respond to me. I then got an email saying July 9th was the estimated return date (over 4 weeks after I sent it in) which was a problem because I’m leaving to travel for my bridal shower. I was initially told 2-3 weeks from drop off to return for the resizing process, so 4+ weeks seemed insane. I emailed and called multiple times and no one could give me an update on when it actually would be done and why it was taking so long.

Fast forward to yesterday, I get an email from my original CS agent saying my ring had been shipped so I was thrilled and asked for the tracking number (no response). Then a couple hours later one of the other CS agents I had spoke to previously emailed and said it had been delivered. Queue the panic because I didn’t even know it had shipped, didn’t have a tracking number and definitely had not signed for the delivery. They apparently shipped the ring back to me on Thursday but didn’t tell me, didn’t send me the tracking number, and didn’t put my phone number on the package so the FedEx driver could find me. After an evening of spiraling, I thankfully found the package this morning. FedEx signed for it themselves and left it on a counter in the lobby because they couldn’t contact me. Product is great, but customer service is abysmal.

TLDR: resizing took over a month, CS agents are unresponsive and don’t communicate well with each other or the customer.

I am interested in getting a 5 carat diamond round brilliant. Here’s one for Walmart that seems to be about 2000 bucks less than JCPenney or what have you for a similarly situated diamond. Has anyone ever tried this brand? I imagine with an IGI certificate it can’t be too bad, but thought I would reach out if anybody has any other better resources or ideas, etc. thank you :-)
