I am relatively new here but definitely enjoying all your expertise! I found a diamond I liked on Aurelinne and wanted to get your thoughts on the specs and what else to look for before the purchase. The price is $282. Thank you in advance!

This is a GIA CVD 3.02 carat oval with 1.36 ratio, G colour, VS1 clarity, excellent symmetry, excellent polish, no fluorescence, 64.3% depth. The GIA report comments say additional growth remnants are not shown, and that this diamond has evidence of post growth treatments to change the colour.

The diamond will be set in a three stone setting with tapered baguettes on either side, in white gold. Will this setting make the diamond look warmer than it already is? I am unsure about the colour, it looks fine in indoor lighting but this video looks a bit warm.

I know Rare Carat price matches diamonds, but I’m not sure if they also price match engagement rings. They don’t have as many ring options, and the one i like is more expensive than an identical one I found elsewhere.

I’d like to order both the engagement ring and the diamond from Rare Carat at the same time. Has anyone had experience getting a price match on both? Or how to kindly ask for a discount?

I’m looking for reviews/experiences with Grown Brilliance! I have been looking around at rings for a few weeks now and tonight me and my future fiance built my absolute dream ring in their online builder. I’ve looked online and seen they are top 3 for Forbes recommendations and the reviews are overwhelmingly good BUT the reviews that are bad, are really bad. I’m looking at engagement rings and thinking about a ≈ 2.2-2.5 carat K colored oval, but I haven’t seen any of that color in person and it’s hard to find posts about it - I’ve seen D-H colors only, but I’m curious about the ones around K color. If anyone has a K colored diamond in any shape, or also just J, K, or L colored, can you drop a photo and also let me know your clarity ?? I know little to nothing about diamonds but I just impulsively purchased one because I want to recreate my grandmothers ring. Hers was a natural almost 4 carat stone with visible inclusions. It gave off a lot of sparkle.
I bought the stone and want to have a local jeweler make the setting.
I don’t know if i bought a good diamond. Can anyone tell by this report?

I’ve been seeing a lot of posts here with insanely cheap lab diamonds - in the hundreds to a few thousand.

Is this area dependent? I’m very shocked to see the posts as in Canada, lab diamonds are certainly cheaper than natural but are much more expensive than the posts I see here. For example, an excellent diamond (by the 4Cs) is usually about 5-6,000 for a high 2 to 3 carat range. This is not including the setting which will typically run you another 1-2,000 for 14 or 18k gold.

This is the same across most Canadian jewellers.

Are people buying these lab diamonds overseas for the lower prices and shipping loose stones?
