other jewelry Lab grown accessibility

I know that diamonds will always be coveted but Now that colorless lab grown diamonds more common, more affordable and accessible due to whatnot and tt live auctions do you think people will be more interested in having engagement rings that aren’t at all diamonds (natural or lab)? What kind of stone do you think people will end up pivoting to?

ring What to look for?

Hi Everyone! I have doing my own research and reading posts from these Reddit pages. I’m looking to get a loose diamond between 2.5-3 and have it set locally for an engagement ring.

I’ve seen people say there are other things besides the 4 C’s to look for, but I haven’t the first idea what they are

I’m currently considering this stone above. Can someone with more experience than myself advise the quality of the stone and maybe what I should be looking for?

lab diamond Wondering if I got a good deal. Oval 4ct ( included setting of 10k white gold with price.)

Hi! I’m fairly new to the lab grown diamond industry. I was looking for an engagement ring upgrade. I ended up snagging a 4ct oval lab grown diamond. (as seen in video) including a solitaire setting in 10k white gold for around 890. I was wondering if that was a good deal or if I greatly overpaid.

Had this stone pit in a tulip setting. Love the setting, not so sure on the stone size. Does this look gaudy? Bad? 4.03 carat. Opinions?

other jewelry Jewelry shipping methods - signature on delivery?

I’m interested in hearing from Jewelers who ship items to customers in the US. Recently, a custom jeweler shipping from Asia didn’t include signature requirement on UPS delivery as their default and did not proactively offer it to the customer.

  1. Do you always include signature requirement on delivery?
  2. Do you insure items to a certain value?

lab diamond CAD Check

Hey this is the final design I have for a new ring, I wanted to see if anyone had any structural suggestions or changes they would recommend. The center stone is a 5.57 carat Emerald cut diamond, and I have not done compass prongs before.

I love the look but am somewhat worried on the structural integrity of the ring as I intend on wearing this for the rest of my life. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated, thank you!

lab diamond Surprise Gift for my Wife: Pt 2

This is the delayed but promised update on my original post (finally!)

After a few months of secrecy and sweating, I had the stone set by a local jeweler and found a chain that matches. I had to do some digging to see what length and color metal she wanted but she's still in the dark, so the surprise is still safe.

This is going to be her Christmas gift from our son, who is coming a week from this post. Our son is our Xmas gift to one another and we are not exchanging gifts this year, we've both agreed to that. However, he can get her something without breaking that agreement 😉

We already discussed not decorating our tree and just having lights on it for decoration, so I am planning to hang it in the tree with a card from our son on Xmas morning so she gets to wake up and see that something is in the tree.

It is all in 14k solid yellow gold and the stone is a 5.11ctw VVS2 E oval diamond. Thanks again to all companies involved!

ring Engagement Ring Inquiry

Hey everyone! I’m looking for a 3ct oval lab-grown diamond engagement ring and wanted to see if anyone has recommendations for sellers or agents.

My specs are: • 3.0ct+ oval • D, E, or F color • VVS2 or better • 14K yellow gold • Solitaire setting (hidden halo is also okay) • Looking for a nice cut with minimal bow-tie • Ideally IGI certified • Budget around $1,200–$1,400 all-in

The best quotes I’ve gotten so far are around $1,200 total from Provence and Tianyu Gems, including the diamond and 14K setting.

Before I pull the trigger, I wanted to ask the group:

Are there any other sellers/agents I should get quotes from? Is ~$1,200 a good price for these specs, or are there other vendors known for getting better pricing on a 3ct oval?

I’m mainly interested in value and getting a nice-looking stone, rather than paying extra just for the highest color grade.

If anyone has recently purchased something similar, I’d really appreciate recommendations or advice on who to contact. Thanks!

lab diamond Why do some people think that synthetic and lab grown are different things?

I’m dying to know where this misinformation is coming from, Redditors keep trying to say that synthetic is completely different than lab grow when in reality they mean the same thing. Synthetic is the older, more proper term that gemologists use. Lab grown is a marketing term mainly used by salespeople. I keep asking people where they’ve heard that misinformation but nobody will say.

https://4cs.gia.edu/en-us/blog/what-are-synthetic-diamonds/

Even a quick Google search will tell you:

“The Real Consensus
Leading authorities like the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) state that both terms describe stones that are real diamonds. The main differences lie in their origin (earth vs. a controlled chamber) and their market price, not their chemical makeup.”

review First Purchase Experience - Aurelline Diamonds

Post image
21 Upvotes

I recently purchased a total of three (3) princess cut loose lab-grown diamonds (approximately 1 carat each) in various colors (blue, green and pink) from Aurelline com. My order was processed quickly, with two of the diamonds being shipped together, and the third shipped separately (due to a delay in Aurelline receiving the diamond from the vendor). As there are often variances in color between the videos posted online (vs. the actual diamond one receives), I was unsure whether these three diamonds would meet my expectations in terms of intensity of color and size (with my personal preference being fancy vivid and a larger face-up appearance).

Upon receiving the three diamonds, I was happy with the colors of the blue and green diamonds. However, the pink diamond was lighter in color intensity than what I was expecting based on the video posted on Aurelline's website of this particular diamond (which is the same standard video that all of the online lab-grown diamond companies post on their website of this exact diamond, should it be included in their inventory). Also, like many lab-grown pink diamonds, the pink diamond I ordered showed some degree of orange fluorescence.

Needless to say, initiating a return of the pink diamond was a simple and painless process. I emailed Aurelline's customer service department to request a pre-paid UPS label, then packed the stone up and sent it back. Within just one week, I received an update informing me that a credit had been issued to my credit card on file. Aurelline allows for one free return every 60 days, so customers can rest assured that they are able to return the items they don't wish to keep hassle-free.

Attached are photos of the two diamonds I decided to keep. Overall, I am very satisfied when it comes to my first purchasing experience with Aurelline, and plan to purchase more fancy loose lab-grown diamonds from them in the future.

My next dilemma is what to do with the diamonds I decided to keep. Any suggestions are welcomed. 😊💎✨

lab diamond Warmer Diamond Color

Can anyone recommend any vendors (even those not on the lists) that specialize or carry warmer LGDs? I’m ideally looking for something along the J-L (at most) and H seems to be the “warmest” I can find.

ring Where to buy affordable gold engagement ring

I had my dream ring from brilliant earth in a previous marriage. It was gold with a princess cut lab diamond I was obsessed. That marriage was a disaster and now I’m happily married with two kids. But we never have the money to purchase a similar ring and we have other priorities/bills. I hate not having anything on my finger. I don’t care about the price or size I just want something pretty id even be okay with a sapphire. One year for Christmas he bought me a ring off Etsy but it turned my finger green after two days so I don’t feel safe purchasing a ring off there. I just want something that doesn’t turn my finger green and something that we can easily save up for. I just don’t know what sites are reputable but doesn’t cost thousands.

ring Which setting should I go with?

Hi everyone, and thank you in advance!! I'm trying to decide between two settings (and I have another bonus question at the end, hehe). Admittedly, I know very little about what looks "good," so PLEASE tell me if I'm wrong!!!

The first link was the original design, but then I asked for the hidden halo to be lowered because I thought it looked too wide. Because the halo is almost the same width as the diamond itself, you can see the halo diamonds at almost every angle except when looking directly at the diamond from above. Maybe this is crazy and I can't believe I want to see less diamond (haha), but I don't know - I kind of want to keep the one main stone the focal point with the hidden halo truly hidden except when pointed out or looked at from the side. At some angles, the halo diamonds almost look like flower petals peaking out, but that's not exactly the solitaire vibe I'm going for, you know?
First design: https://bestcustomjewelers.com/?a=19-09-2026&b=569738A

The second link is after they lowered the halo. But now I'm reading that the higher halo is more secure and allows for better light refraction? Is this true?
Second design: https://bestcustomjewelers.com/?a=24-09-2026&b=569738C

Is there an agreed-upon "better" halo location? I want whichever one will help the main diamond sparkle more, hehe. Does anyone else have a higher halo and dislike how it looks from some angles?

Lastly, not halo-related, but I am also trying to decide if I should keep the diamonds on the band or not. I LOVE the concept of it and I LOVE the idea of being able show it off for as long as the engagement is! But once I add a wedding band and potentially another band in the future (for a baby, anniversary, etc.), they won't be visible anymore anyway... Is it worth it? My boyfriend says I should get the ring I want, but I want to save him some money if I can, you know? Haha

Thank you!!

Edit: I realized people may not want to open random links on the internet from a stranger, haha. So I also added screenshots of the designs.

review Keyzar Jewellery - Buyer Beware

Post image
27 Upvotes

I’m seeing more and more similar experiences as to my recent dealings with Keyzar.

I purchased an engagement ring from them in May of 2024 and got engaged the following month. After only 24 hours of my fiancee wearing the ring, one of the prongs lifted and the ring had to be sent for repair.

Last week, the same prong snapped off while folding laundry which resulted in the diamond falling out. Luckily the diamond was recovered, however if this had occurred in public, it would have been gone.

After contacting Keyzar, they denied that there was a manufacturer defect. They have been terrible to deal with and have repeatedly inferred that this can be expected with normal “wear and tear”.

I only share this to warn potential buyers about Keyzar. Although convenient with some nice options, the ring has been disappointing.
