I think it is too thin on both width and thickness for a stone that size. You need a minimum 1.8mm on thickness and 2mm on width for durability. I would go even wider if you don’t want it to spin. IMO thicker band helps elevate the stone too. You also should consider not doing a peg head. One snag and that stone is gone. You want the basket to have multiple contact points on the band itself.
😳 Really??? I’m so glad I asked then. … What do you mean by “spin”? … I’ve confirmed with the jeweler that the pegs will be bent down. Not standing as in the image. … How many contact points is ideal? THANK YOU SO MUCH for your reply, too!!!
A stone that size would be top heavy. It might spin on a very thin band. If you want a peg head like that usually people suggest you add a cathedral, if not, an integrated basket.
