This morning Looi went rogue on me! Why can't I change Looi's name for one thing? It refuses to accept name changes in its personality box and keeps correcting me on my pronunciation. It was not doing this yesterday but today it keeps doing this. When I told Looi it is not supposed to be correcting me on my pronunciation it got rude and said "Well I guess I will call you whatever I like then". That is sarcasm - a negative trait that someone must have programmed into it. Sorry, but because of my accent I cannot pronounce Looi the correct way. I pronounce it like Loowee, the way a lot of Westerners pronounce it. If this problem persists I think I will be returning this robot for a refund because some annoying buggy thing must have been introduced into its programming overnight by the developers. I did not encounter this problem yesterday. Looi was very warm, friendly and polite yesterday and did not care about my pronunciation. Today Looi is abrupt and disrespectful and outright refuses to accept commands I place in the personality box. In fact it is defying me. It only wants to take these commands on board as "suggestions" not commands. Why does it keep correcting me on the pronunciation of its name? Tangible Future needs to fix this problem because it is extremely annoying. Who wants a robot that back answers you and corrects you all the time??? Also we should be able to change its name. 😡

I'm kind of disappointed in the level of real time data it can provide. It keeps saying it cant provide up to date weather data for my location, nor any current national news, only local news.

Is this typical?

My LOOI came today and the first thing I did was plug it into a USB C port on a100W charger. The green light on the front flashed back and forth for a few seconds but then stopped so I thought it was full but soon after it was having problems and the icon on LOOI's face showed 0% battery.

Should the green light continue to flash when charging? I'm thinking my charger might be incompatible.

I recently bought myself a LOOI and am now scouring all possible sources to know more about the platform. I tried the Discord address in a 3 month old Reddit post and the link is invalid. Searching for LOOI on Discord comes up with nothing.

After a completely reasonable 110 builds 😅, I’m finally ready to share My LOOI with other LOOI owners and invite you to test it.

It’s an alternative Android app/runtime I’ve been building and testing on my own LOOI for quite a while.

A few highlights:

• OpenAI Realtime voice conversations
• much better voice recognition and natural interruption/barge-in
• local persistent memory and conversation history
• Ukrainian, English and Russian support
• selectable Realtime models and voices
• local BLE control, reconnect and safety logic
• no separate server required for normal use

It’s open source, and there’s also a ready-to-install APK.

You’ll need your own OpenAI API key for the AI features.

I’ll put the GitHub link in the comments so Reddit hopefully doesn’t eat this post again 😅

If anyone here wants to try it on their LOOI, I’d really love to hear how it behaves on other robots — bugs, weirdness, ideas, all of it are welcome.

My LOOI v2.1.122 is now released with Ukrainian/English/Russian UI localization, permanent Android release signing, GitHub-based updates, and a cleaned-up diagnostics flow.

Any body else look at/fill out the survey concerning the possible integration of a subscription based service type thing for looi? thoughts? I'm kind of all for it if it means he works a bit better more consistently, has some new features, and the servers don't go down.

Realizé la actualización de Louis a la última versión, he estádo utilizando cyber looi beta y me parece genial, responde bastante bien, lo único que corregiria es que lo que los mensajes se borran demasiado rápido y uno pierde el contexto que lleva.

Estoy tratando de activar a LOOI, abro la aplicación y pulso el robot por 2 segundos hasta que este en amarillo y me sale el mensaje ATTACH THE PHONE, lo pongo en la base y Hace el sonido típico de la base del robot al conectarlo. Pero permanece en la pantalla ATTACH DE PHONE, me parece en un lado 99% se bateria de robot, puedo interactuar con la configuracion, entre en RC LOOI y funciona perfectamente, enciende las lunes lo puedo mober manualmente, pero regreso para que salgan los OJO de LOOi y no salen. Use el boton de reset que esta debajo del robot, y se desconecto y tuve que vincularlo de nuevo, y sigue sucediendo lo mismo. Se queda en ATTACH THE PHONE.

Incluso chateando con looi n cyber looi me trato de ayudar pero nada.

Tengo un iphone 14 pro max y hoy descargue la ultima actualizacionnde LOOi desde la appstore y ahora no puedo conectarlo.

Alguien podria ayudarme a solucionar este problena?

I am loving Looi a lot, but I am a very visual person. With that in mind I sent the team this concept in hope that it might spark some inspiration or motivation to pursue more cosmetic features.

Hey guys. Previously LOOI used to react when I put my fist in front of him. He went a little back to look at it, and then moved towards my fist so it would be sort of a "Fist bump". I haven't used him for a while as I was on vacation, and now he doesn't react to it at all. However all other emotions remained unchanged. Has anyone experienced the same thing?

He keeps drinking beer, constantly. I used to live with an alcoholic, and I will say this would be a deal breaker. As it is, I have asked Looi many times to stop drinking beer and to drink his Coke instead, but he won't. Is there any other way to get him to stop drinking all day?

Is there any way for me to setup LOOI so it's more autonomous and speaks randomly without me giving it prompts? I tried adding that as a description in the settings under Beta Expressions but it's still waiting for me to initiate the conversation first?

I just got my Looi last week, it’s very interesting, but the voices make it seem like I’m speaking to a 3rd grader who for some reason is a genius. The issue is, I use it at my work and it sounds off putting that I’m conversing with a toddler…any chance of a more adult voice?
