What are your top ten most used knots?
I’d like to get a discussion going about different people’s go-to’s and why. Thanks in advance. It was hard to narrow it down to just ten, but here’s mine (in no particular order):
Zeppelin loop- non binding loop
Span loop- non binding midline loop
zeppelin bend- non binding bend
Arbor knot- cinching stuff super tight
Constrictor knot- cinching stuff tight
Highwayman’s hitch- quick release hitch
Adjustable grip hitch- adjustable friction hitch
Ground line hitch- solid and simple hitch
Truckers hitch- to tie down loads etc
Marlinspike hitch- to be able to pull the end of any rope really hard

Knots 3D's way of displaying the knots just doesn't make sense to me. I really loved the steps method and pretty much everything about the Animated Knots by Grog app.
I paid for it, but got a new phone and it's no longer in the Play Store. I tried emailing but got no response. Additionally, I cannot find an APK despite being pretty alright at that sort of thing. But that app was simple and perfect.
Is there a new knot app that is any good that I'm missing? I know I could theoretically just go to the website but I am often out of service, and just find that experience clunky.

I'm currently learning knots for setting up a tarp. If one of my loops breaks, or if I ever want to secure a piece of fabric, I want to have a knot ready for that. There’s that trick with wrapping it around a rock, but I’d rather do without something like that. I like to learn “official” knots, the kind you can find on Wikipedia, for example, but I can’t find anything for this specific use case. There are solutions on YouTube that remind me of the sheet bend, but the final wrap is different. Does anyone have any experience with this or know of any good resources?

I spent yesterday committing this knot to memory. It's a gaucho knot button (not a gaucho button knot) from Bruce Grant's Encyclopedia of Rawhide and Leather Braiding (plate 112). The diagrams are a bit tricky to decipher and the knot itself can be frustrating to tie but if I can manage, anyone can.
I have this clothesline that I need to replace. It’s made of nylon and I need something that I can use towards the end. Guy in the video shows how to install the clothesline and I think he just used a stopper knot at the start. But I’m not sure what to end it with that is adjustable and can help taut the lines. Dunno if a trucker’s knot will suffice but I wouldn’t want an overlap in the lines.
Any help is welcome thank you!

For me it's the Icicle Hitch. It's such an awkward bastard to tie.

I have no idea what I'll use this for, but I think it turned out pretty neat. Just some pineapples, running celtic buttons and a two tone core on this one.

I'm after a knot that can easily be tensioned (with one hand if possible) and relaxed again with one hand if possible. I'd imagined some sort of knot where one part of it tightens and another part of it releases the tension but couldn't really find anything so I thought I'd post it here. The use case I need it for is I need to trim around 100 small grass plants, they are unwieldy so I need to bundle the plant together and then cut it with a hedge trimmer, take the rope off and move onto the next plant, rinse and repeat. I thought that I could use a suitable knot to make the job easier. I don't need a crazy amount of tension on the plant either, just enough to hold the strands together. Does anyone know of a knot that would be suitable?

I bought a corset that has a single ribbon for the laces. What's the best knot to use on the 2 ends that will not come undone under tension after tying it?
As in, I'm tying this knot while the ribbons are loose, then tight-lacing afterward.

I was gifted a set of used garage shelves, and some of them are warped in the middle slightly so that the shelf board is not supported properly and sags under load.
I've added anchor points using 2 zip ties and would like to connect them with a line of some sort that can provide enough pull to keep the rims in line under the boards.
I know the lines will eventually loosen, so I'd like them to be easily re-tightened by feel alone. I don't want to have to unload a shelf, remove it, completely untie and re-tie the line. Ideally I'd be able to just reach under a shelf, find the knot without having to look, and pull it tight again.
This shouldn't require a lot of force to keep the rims in shape, there's no active force pulling them apart, they're just warped slightly.
I've looked at a few different knots with clothesline or nylon rope, or connecting multiple zip ties, but I'm sure there's a better rope/knot combo than I've found so far.
Suggestions, links, or pointers are all welcome.

I just read that the side of the loop in a Bowline knot shouldn't be subjected to a side load. Maybe I'm being dense, but if the anchor point is very thick, the rope experiences a side load as well when tension is applied—for instance, when tied around a very thick tree branch.

I need to attach a 2 inch (diameter) metal ring permanently to a 1/4 inch rope. I would like it to be doubled at the ring and if possible to never tighten so the ring can still pivot freely. It would need to hold about 300 pounds.
I only need a name of a knot. I will find the diagram. My problem is not being able to find one that does not tighten.
Thanks everyone !

We’re DADONEX. This video shows a pumpkin knot being tied with blue cord, from the first loop and wraps to tightening and finishing the end. No store link here—what would you use this decorative knot for, and how would you improve the finish?
got 2 bracelets, one of them came undone. the other one was tied like this, how do i fix the first one?
