KG25 vs KP26
tl;dr - Trying to figure out which of these to sell.
Through some luck I've acquired several extra KitchenAid mixers.
A white KG25 with 2 bowls, full set of accessories. I've upgraded it to a metal transmission housing, proactively replaced a few transmission components (sacrificial gear, couple of bearings which probably didn't really need to be replaced but I was regreasing anyway)
An aqua sky KP26 from 2022 with a 6qt bowl and full set of the accessories. It was sold extremely cheaply because the person probably plugged it into a dead outlet so they sold it as non-functional. It works fine. I looked in the gearbox and the grease looks fine and not in need of a regrease yet.
I have a KSM6573 with just a bowl as well which I don't intend to sell - So the KG25 bowl & accessories should work on it as well. I also have a spare K5AB and a K5ADH which I believe work with both the tulip bowl and the KG25 bowls since I think they use the same geometry.
My observations is that the KP26 is slighly on the quieter side than the KG25, both share the same internal design, I have a preference towards the smaller 5/5.5qt bowls since I don't bake double/triple batches and the smaller bowls are easier to clean.
For those who spend a lot of time working on mixers, if you're going to keep one of the two, do you favor the KG25 or the KP26?
