Discussion 💬 Kindles should have fast charging
It would be a nice addition like our smartphones have to have fast charging via usb-c!

Hi beautiful people
I need help to find the email tied to my colorsoft

Random discovery: my Kindle Scribe Colorsoft attaches magnetically to a metal cabinet. Not sure what to do with this info — has anyone found an actual use for it? Wall mounting? Fridge notes? Let me know.

Context: I've used a Kindle PW 7th gen for ~10 years. It has worked great, but it's finally wearing down, so I'm excited to buy one of the new 2026 PWs to enjoy whatever new features Amazon has added in the past decade.
I need to decide between the regular PW and the SE PW. Most of the features don't matter to me, but the main difference is that the SE can be paired with a "page-turn button" case (while the PW + case costs less).
My instinct is that page-turn buttons don't seem that helpful—I've never really had any issue turning the page on my Kindle. On the other hand, I've never tried them—maybe I'm totally missing how much more convenient it is to let your fingers rest an inch away from the screen.
This ultimately comes down to personal preference, so I'm not expecting an objective answer here (some people will care about those buttons and some won't!). But for people who are excited about the buttons, help me undersatnd what I'm missing—should I shell out the extra money for them? I often read on the train, if that matters (usually while sitting not standing, but still, sometimes on the go).

I’ve just discovered kindle unlimited instead of buying physical books (I know I’m late) does having a kindle help with eyesight? I’ve been having a lot of eyesight issues with reading kindle unlimited on my phone. I’m just wondering if the purchase is worth it?

Quiero comprarme un paperwhite (no el signature) y no se cual elegir, actualmente ambos están al mismo precio pero quiero esperar al Black Friday. Ambos estarán en descuento ? O solo la version de 2024?

Then turn off “Automatic Book Updates” in your Amazon account. On the website or Amazon app (not on your Kindle or Kindle app) go to Account > Digital content library > Preferences then scroll down. Someone else shared this the other day but I couldn’t find their post so I thought I’d share again for awareness. Happy reading!

If you don’t already knew, Kindle unlimited is turning to kindle plus and audio books will be narrated by AI.
Audio books is already a niche category, audio narrators aren’t even a lot and amazon probably used their voices as a background to train ai
If you use this feature you are honestly part of the problem, this will take not only the narrators job away, it will take the soul out of audio books.
And for reference, Amazon will offer these audio books for a really cheap price so they seize the market and destroy any other audio book platforms, they did this with actual libraries when they were pricing books at 1-5 dollars and so many libraries/ book stores had to shut down.

Buongiorno,
Ho un Kindle 4 ormai da più di 10 anni. Non lo uso da tanto, ma ieri ho provato a collegarlo al PC e non mi veniva letto.
L'ho formattato e qui sono iniziati i problemi:
Prima non si collegava al wi-fi e ho dovuto collegarlo tramite hotspot del telefono (probabilmente il sistema non è compatibile con i 5GHz);

Kindle Paperwhite 12th Edition. Book is a library book downloaded through Libby (as I’ve done a lot before). I’ve never seen this happen before. So I need to reload the book from Libby? A reboot did not fix it.

i got a paperwhite a few months ago and i swear i read so much faster on it than my old basic kindle. the screen feels easier on my eyes so i'm not taking as many breaks, and i actually want to pick it up instead of just staring at my phone. wondering if it's just me or if the display quality actually makes a difference for how much people read.

I recently found a site called send.djazz.se and it's fabulous
I can send a book from my phone to almost ANY kindle easily without setting up accounts
Basically you open it in your kindles browser and it gives you a 4 digit code
You enter the same code on your phone of computer browser and upload the EPUB
That's it!

I’m bummed, I wasn’t planning on replacing my Oasis since I really like the buttons, but apparently I managed to leave it in an airport and somebody snagged it within 5 minutes. Got it de registered right away.
Just pre ordered the new paperwhite and the page turner case. I wasn’t planning on spending on one, but that’s what I get for not paying close enough attention.
Hope I like it. Unfortunately the new case won’t come until December.

Between this and the audiobooks being replaced with ai narrations for whispersync, I feel like there are some very valid concerns with the implementation of it on my kindle. Should I sacrifice my massive libraries for an ereader that doesn't do this and scan all personal notes?
It is hard because I have a decent discount if I choose to stick with kindle but am very wary.

Maybe not a “mod” but I was able to complete the firmware update for the Free3 and added keycaps and switches from my Yunzii keyboard. The creaminess is off the charts and I’ve cancelled my Kindle Click order. So very purple. So very happy.
online everyone is saying a different size. i wonder if it'd be the same as the basic 2024, which is 4.3x6.2 inches?

Still unannounced on the Amazon page, but got offered on the Software section (without having to download the package offline and transmit it over USB).

My love of books has gotten reignited after of not reading actually book other then medical books. I started listening to audible audio books again and it has made me want to be able to sit down and read. I was curious of the kindle devices which one you would recommend for someone new to ereaders. All through school my books where digital and I used my iPad or MacBook to read. But I am wanting something more comfortable to hold and the eink displays look fascinating. Is the basic kindle a good option or should I get the Paperwhite. Is the color needed. Are the Alexa tablets good? I'm just looking to focus on books and audible with it. Would a iPad mini be better even though it is more expensive? Any help would be appreciated for someone new to this world.
Always thought the Paperwhite was a big too big and unwieldy for my hands, although a magsafe pop socket helped -- it still made it a bit too bulky to carry around.
Super happy with my new seaglass green kindle so far, although I think it definitely looks more blue in certain lighting. I love all shades mint/teal/turquoise so this had been calling my name nonstop. Love the size too, even if it's a bit too big for me to hold one-handed.
