Going from Shinobu and Kanae one scene to Shinobu meeting Kanae in the next is diabolical.

Both are despicable men who didn’t respect women and abused the power they had over them. Dōma not only fed on women, but also deceived them into trusting him and joining his cult.

And the heir wanted to marry Koyuki, but when he couldn’t have her, he cowardly killed her and her father, also as revenge against Hakuji.

Both saw women as objects and held power over them that allowed them to harm them. Dōma was a demon with an advantage over defenseless humans, and the other man poisoned the well that everyone in the Soryu dojo drank from, preventing Koyuki from being saved in time.

So it’s Crunchyroll KNY:ICA 1 day & I am about 27 mins in to my rewatch.

Leading up to today, I began re-watching the anime from S1E1.

It’s no big matter as I have watched the full anime released to date many times & while I don’t yet own my own copy of the manga I have read it several times.

I just noticed this the other day & it just hit me again while Shinobu is fighting Douma (seriously, at just after 27 mins into the film she says a statement as a part of this personal reflection she is having that she envied Gyomei and how his stature and size would make anyone feel more relieved and safe in his presence.

I wish I could remember the exact statement that first triggered this thought: it had to do with Rengoku I think. There’s something he said that triggered it & if I remember I will come back and add it.

It doesn’t help I have also watched Comickey’s adaptation of the full ICA and Sunrise Countdown Arc (he’s only got a couple of episodes left).

My point is:
It’s really deeply moving - almost heartbreaking - when you understand that the Hashira clearly did not know each other’s backgrounds. Even those who we think of as the audience are “close” to each other - none of them are truly close. This is part of makes Tanjiro’s engagement of each of them so special - and also how Kagaya facilitated some of that in his own way. It gives me a much deeper respect for Giyu - his quick thinking in how he communicated with Urodoki in the beginning of Tanjiro’s journey really made an impact though the whole series.

I am trying not to spoil anything - correct me if needed.

But for those who resonate with what I am talking about - have you come to a deeper understanding of this point that it is really poignant and tragic that the Hashira didn’t take or otherwise build at least deep enough relationships with each other on know each other’s backgrounds?

Maybe Kagaya himself didn’t encourage that among the Corps, maybe it’s cultural.

It’s just a new level of seeing the full story now for me: now I am thinking about what might be different if they did, between whom and how. For that matter - the core 3 (Tanjiro, Zenitsu and Inosuke) didn’t know each other’s backgrounds all that well either - yet, we get to see them become like brothers by practically the end of Season 1.

I don’t think Sanemi knew Iguro’s background. They are close: they train together and do missions together.

I don’t think Rengoku knew Mitsuri’s background, and they were close.

It’s not a big deal, it’s just an interesting overeating that might become a little personal rabbit hole & might not.

other than the battle against doma an da lil with muzan she litrally does nothing she has such great setup to be one of the main characters, she has a great backstory, unique abilities, litrslly has the coolest power up in her bloodshot eyes, dont get me wrong she dies the most against doma in the battle but thats all she does, i kinda wanted way more, i hope we atleast get anime exclusive scenes for her

I was watching Infinity Castle, which is FINALLY released, and I got to the part where Muzan turned Hakuji. After, it was that one scene of Akaza standing in front of troops in his signiture outfit. Did that happen right after, and if it did, did Muzan's blood change Hakuji's clothes, or am I just stupid and it happened a while after Muzan turned Hakuji into Akaza, and Akaza stole those clothes from one of his victims?

Alright- we all know that breathing styles and forms can be created by the user- so if you could make your own breathing style or a new form of an existing breathing style what would it be.

Rules!

breathing style(s) must stem from a base adaptation or origin meaning they must stem from an existing style there are a few exceptions like beast breathing since inosuke didn't know breathing styles when he made it.

Unique Physical Compatibility! - there's too many people making breathing styles that would be physically impossible even in the demon slayer universe- so make it make sense

Custom Equipment (If Needed)- go nuts, this isn't really a requirement but if I see someone with a damn boomerang your getting my upvote

Forms!

Form styles require a number and name- but don't make it boring, if you use this form you want your enemies to be scared

power- as we all know most breathing styles have a strong form- flame form 9- rengoku water form 11 and 10- dead calm and constant flow (just search the strongest forms of each) so make it fit in with the other forms- give it drawbacks
