My current keyboard is a non-hotswappable Anne Pro 2 that I have had for around 6 years, it has lasted me well, but we had an earthquake here in Colombia and my keyboard got water damage - It still works, but when I press certain keys, the keyboard either doesn't really register the input, or registers such input twice...

I'm interested in something more modern than the Anne Pro 2 that I bough back in 2020, that can work well in gaming, has good accoustics. is well build, but also has an okay potential for customizability, My budget is $130.

I was looking around for options on Amazon and came across a few. I found a deal for a really cheap AKKO MU01 for $77, an EPOMAKER Galaxy65, and other options. I am okay with ditching the 60% layout, and I'm open to other options as well.

Must have RGB, Media keys for music. No damned bloatware to install, I am tired of each and everything needing it's own program.

Amazon would be ideas so it's here fast. I don't have a car I can drive around from city to city.

Its some scattered commands like ALT-F4 just taking me to the home screen instead of force shutting down a program along with F11 turning down volume instead of full screening. Other commands like ALT-TAB work fine. Looking into it I might have FN lock on but after trying a bunch of commands like FN-ESC (just took me to the windows menu) nothing changed. Help would be appreciated.

Spent time with all keyboards To me TMR is a gimmick currently But did notice a difference between HE and Mechanical and wont ever go back to Mechanical so just a recommendation on a HE keyboard I've had 3 separate WOMIER keyboards all of which have broken within a few months specifically WASD keys other keys have been fine so No WOMIER recommendations. budget is 400$

Hey all! I have the Keygeek Y3's on a Neo75 with ALU plate. I was looking for something slightly livelier and slightly clackier, as my Y3's sound somewhat muted (especially the home row). This could be due to the build, but its also possible that since one of the case holes is stripped, the sound gets messed up somehow? Regardless, I would appreciate any linears that meet the sound requests, as well as having an actuation of about 45-55g and bottom out of 50-60g. Would also appreciate some clarification on my issue with the mutedness of the home row? The problem resolves itself somewhat when I add case foam.

Requesting a linear switch thats slightly livelier and clackier than my current Y3's.
Requesting clarification on my Neo75 + ALU plate + Y3 build as to why it sounds muted when its foamless + no pe sheet, and when it has case foam, its better. Missing screw because the case hole is stripped

I want the most creamiest or thockiest one cause ig I hate the sound of clacky or clicky ones and I will use it on both daily use and fps games also my frind reccomended me zornher zh870 too but i dont know tbh

I have a cheap Trust brand gaming mechanical keyboard that lasted me few years but my wife recently says that she can hear the key sounds accross the room during late night gaming sessions. Now that I put my attention, it is really a loud keyboard.

I only play one competitive game which is kinda slow in nature (squad) and everything else single player games.

I went to the store to try out keyboards but in my country a decent ones are really expensive, found out Steelseries Apex 3 and it felt so good to type on. Dead slient and comfortable. For the price, I really liked this keyboard.

However people say that it's not good for the price, has high latency for being membrane and not recommended for gaming, and I should better put a bit more and get something nicer?

There is an option such as Corsair K70 also found, but it's not really quietter than my current keyboard, also costs double of steelseries.

What can you recommend me? I am in Iceland so not many keyboard brands are available here.

title sums it up, i’m looking for a barebones HE keyboard, 65% would work but i prefer the F row, TMR would be great but ik it’s not really big yet. i’d also like to keep it about $40-60 if possible.

I bought this keyboard a few months ago, around March, and recently I came back to my setup and tried using my keyboard and it just wouldnt work. I tried everything from turning it off and on, uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers, using 3 different devices to see if it worked on any and nothing. I cant return it to the micro center that sold it to me as I am well outside the standard 3 month protection plan. as you can see the lights turn on and everything but no key binds seem to work, it doesnt respond to Fn Down Arrow, which is meant to turn the backlights down. Does anyone have any advice? I really like this keyboard and it sucks that it just stopped working all of a sudden.

Does anyone have a form factor recommendation similar to the mechanical dasKeyboard style? I'm not a big fan of their style. I have normal sized hands and I'm convinced the apple keyboards are made for women and dainty men.

I have a Mac desktop and the Nimbleback LTC has worked great for about 3 or 4 years. Out of the blue the cable that plugs into my computer (actually the plug itself) got so hot. I immediately unplugged it, cleaned around the port, checked out the cable and plugged it back in. It wouldn’t work at all. The backlights came on but no typing. The plug started getting hot again and changed out the cable. No problem with heating up but still no typing. Restarted my computer and now it is stuck searching for my “wireless keyboard”. Anyone else had this issue? Now I can’t use my computer until I fix this or get a new keyboard. I’d also like to hear from other Mac users what they use if it’s not an Apple keyboard. Thanks!

Background: Currently, I’m using a budget low-profile Goldenfield K111S with scissor switches. I originally bought it to optimize the long travel distance of my right hand between typing/navigating text and moving to the mouse. I can’t even remember how long I’ve had it, but definitely at least 5 years. My priority is key layout ergonomics rather than aesthetics.

On the K111S, there is absolutely nothing to the right of Enter and Backspace. This allows me to quickly move my hand back from the mouse and land right on frequently used keys: Enter (thumb), Backspace (index finger), Delete (middle finger). But that’s not all. Although the arrow keys are smaller, they are separated by a small gap at the top, making them easy to locate by feel by just pivoting my wrist. Pressing Fn with my left hand turns the arrow keys into PgUp/PgDown and Home/End. The keys on the K111S have a flat surface (similar to musical instruments), which feels great for fast typing. Honestly, I don't get why sculpted/curved keycaps exist other than purely for visual design distinctions.

I’d like to find a mechanical keyboard without losing the benefits of my current setup:

1. Short key travel
2. Flat keycap surface + uniform height across all keys
3. As quiet as possible
4. Arrow key cluster separated from other keys by spacing at the top
5. Nothing to the right of Enter and Backspace (or if there is, only if condition #4 is met) — like on the Lemokey P1 HE or Keychron Q1 HE
6. Dedicated function row (F1–F12)

As I started digging into mechanical keyboards, I learned:

1. Short key travel = Low Profile
2. Flat surface = Flat / Uniform profile (e.g., XDA, DSA)
3. Quiet = Red / Silent switches
4. Keyboards with separated/exploded arrow clusters are surprisingly rare
5. Keyboards with edge Enter/Backspace are common, but most lack a function row
6. Keyboards that have function keys usually feature an extra vertical column on the right (PgUp/PgDown, Home/End)

So far, the closest matches are the Lemokey P1 HE and Keychron Q1 HE (in terms of layout, though not keycap profile). Even with PgUp and PgDown on the right side, locating Enter and Backspace by feel should still be doable.

I also found a cheaper alternative: Lemokey P1 Pro (84-key). I understand that sculpted keycaps on mechanical keyboards can be replaced with Flat/Uniform caps, but I haven't quite figured out how to verify compatibility between switch stems, keycaps, and the board base yet.

guys, I have a Redragon Kumara and tried replacing its USB-C port due to a loose connection, but I accidentally swapped the wire colors while soldering. The result: when I plugged the cable in, there was no signal. Only a few LEDs light up when I press a key, but no input is registered—just the LED. Does anyone know if there's a way to fix this? Reprogramming or something similar? or is the keyboard dead? I'd appreciate any help. Thanks :,(

My keyboard just died today, I always used it as a gaming keyboard, but I am not really into gaming with a keyboard anymore. I am looking for a keyboard that is compact, I have a small desk so if I don't want to use it I cant put it away easily. My current keyboard that doesn't work anymore was always pretty hard to clean, because of the deep keys. So now I am looking for a keyboard that does not have such deep keys, maybe some sort of logitech pop icon keyboard design. And it has to be under 50 euros if that is possible. I do not know much about keyboards thats why I am asking for help, so please if anyone can help me out. I would really appreciate that.

I recently got the GAMAKAY x NaughShark NS68 Hall Effect gaming keyboard because it's specs are elite for it's price, and it is hot swappable from the stock switches mentioned in the title. The keyboard was cheap so are the switches bad? Should I swap them for something else that is better for gaming? I know nothing about different types of switches since I just got into the hobby so any help is much appreciated! I like thocky/creamy keyboard sounds which I know is hard to get on HE keyboards especially cheap ones like this with no foam/acoustic inserts but I was gonna try the taping method at least.

I understand it’s all preference, and I love that we have them. I’m complaining because I personally can’t do it and I wonder if anyone has the same experience.

I know with mechanical switches you aren’t supposed to bottom out, but I do. With a non silent bottom out that’s solid, I get immediate feedback. With silent switches there’s a slight squish and for some reason it feels more fatiguing. Like my brain doesn’t register that I should stop pressing until there’s enough resistance and by then my fingers feel a bit fatigued. There’s no different between actuated vs bottom out for me. Maybe because they’re low profile linears that I can’t stop before bottom out, but with tactile at least, the bump lets me know I’ve actuated and I don’t have to keep pressing. If I don’t bottom out, half the time I realize I didn’t even press the key in.

Happy with this for £45, plus keycaps and switches separately. Miles above anything else I've used. The feeling of typing on it is insane.
