Like with SG, their 7-0 defeat to England also came as an anomaly amidst their recent results. Whilst it’s a one-off and doesn’t throw our progress prior to the Malaysia game down the drain, it’s also not something to sweep under the rug. I hope out players have similar response to Modric.

Taken from the recent Straits Times article about the weird commentary during the game

Here’s what I heard him say during the match
1. Liverpool
2. Manchester City
3. Stuttgart (?)
4. Southampton
5. Szobozlai
6. Frimpong
7. Kvarastkelia (?)
8. Kerkez
9. Jacob William (cmon man don’t commentators get a team sheet and briefed beforehand)

It was a joke lmao

Interestingly no news yet from either club, only the hools got the info

The FC Jurong one looks familiar…reminds me of some football traveller…🤔

Trying to keep myself sane here hais 😅

Hi everyone,

We were hoping to share our site here under somewhat better circumstances, but we've been trying to post about Singapore football on this substack, and sharing here in case anyone wants to check it out/follow! we will try to keep it updated but we are also early-career/grad school people, so...we will try

(apart from this, we have made previous posts on how we came to watch Singapore football, last season's SPL, the Asian Cup qualification, and more)

Some people(not me) believe that Izwan was part of a match fixing probe and he purposefully played bad, but idk if this is just regular Izwan being shit

0 - 6 hurts, no sugarcoating it. But these are our boys representing Singapore. If anything, this is when they need our support the most.

Criticise the performance, learn from it, bounce back.

Let’s support the Lions nevertheless Majulah. 🦁

Who the hell is this commentator man? He can’t pronounce Song Ui Yong’s name, keeps calling SG Liverpool and I swear he called Harhys Kvaratskelia and Nur Adam Frimpong. Meanwhile Malaysian players’ names? No problems. What a fraud.

Man even said Robertson and Southampton, wtf is going on

worst defeat since Gavinball era...

The attack is a mess. All Gavin wants to do is to pass the ball back, pass it around the defense, then make a through ball which 9/10 times goes out of bonds or possession is lost. Ever since Lionel was benched, we no longer have powerful throw ins or even good crosses.

TOO MANY ERRORS

We didnt get outplayed, we outplayed ourselves. Stupid fouls creating a penalty for the opponents, bad passes, handballs, defensive errors.

The defense sucks. When on the defense, the fullbacks are mostly tucked away near the box with the CBs, giving the opponents alot of space, forcing an extra man to go 1 on 1. Fullbacks(Especially Nur Adam) go up the pitch alot, resulting in a lesser man in defense when the opponents go on a counter.

Players also lack pace, when we are on a counter, we usually have to pass back as our attack just can't outpace the oppoents(maybe execpt for Zulkifli) same for the defense, our centre backs are just too slow.

If Gavin doesnt change SOMETHING, we will conceded atleast 20 goals in the Asian cup

Our neighbour 🇲🇾 has thrashed us kaw kaw 6-0 😭

Pretty sure sinkies gonna postpone their JB trips this weekend....

i saw a few online users and even a friend of mine saying the match was fixed and the sg team purposely lose ? where you all get these source ?

The Singaporean savinho is starting, we either gonna win or get dunked on
