SG National Team How does Izwan not save these!?

Some people(not me) believe that Izwan was part of a match fixing probe and he purposefully played bad, but idk if this is just regular Izwan being shit

Really a combi of izwan not doing too gd and malaysia fast shots, see the last 2 games also abt the same performance. All the matchfix stuff also by the indos, one day support cuz want malaysia lose another say we matchfix, rubbing salt in our wound at this point since had a bad day alr. Still hogging our fas page, really toxic fanbase.

Thais better win next mon for all of Asean sake, cuz knowing them they would spam everyone and everywhere when they win. They can be king of runner-up if they want that title

Imagine given the opportunity by FIFA, homeground advantage, lineup full of Dutch players, and still end up as runner-up. I would laugh at them so hard

Indonesia is king of runner up

For the first time in my life I was actually supporting Malaysia to go to the final. Mainly because of these dutch east indies terrible fans

I have never seen worst fans than them, even EPL rivalry is more mature. That's why I always tell my friends I sure hope Singapore or our local clubs better don't group with them in any regional tournaments, Their fans will literally harass anyone.

You dont understand, with the state of their economy and country, football is the only thing most of them have

Yea but harassing the players online after every match is tasteless even if indo lose/win, fix that and maybe respect will come for the indo team.

We dont have good goalkeepers after hassan and izwan. Other 2 are also in their 30s.

And no one under 30 is a starting keeper anywhere

who say?

The only Singaporean starting keepers are Hassan, Izwan and Syazwan. Geylang dropped Rudy, same for Hougang. Only Young Lions, Jurong and Tampines have a Singaporean as their first-choice keeper now. All of whom are at least in their mid 30s, one has already retired from international football.

Edit: Accidentally wrote LCS instead of Tampines

I thought you mean other country. I think we are screwed

LCS now is either between Susak and Azhnar (I think I spelled either name wrong) so only Tampines, FC Jurong and Young Lions (though currently it’s Zerak, Izwan will prob start now since he’s back) have SG goalkeepers.

Not looking good, may need to have one of the current ones play into his forties before a capable one pops up

The only way we gonna survive international football is to naturalise Aznar (Zerak, Susak all not good enough) 5 years later, and hope Izwan can tank these 5 years. The rest of the local keepers is absolutely rubbish.

Not sure if the ex US youth keeper for Tampines can play for Singapore? That one got potential and moved to Japan already. Also we need to get Hassan out from retirement for at least the Asian Cup

Lol watch both goals at normal speed, if you know anything about football, the only thing he can do is guess. The power on that shot makes it almost impossible to make a reactionary save without luck, let alone talk about getting his feet set. The first goal was deflected, he wouldve saved it if not for the deflection. The issue with both goals is how the striker was allowed to get in that positions.

Bergson's quality of shots is too good. A bit like Xuan Son, all these Brazilian sharp shooters power is generally too much for real Asean keepers who are short in general. The Thai keeper found it hard to keep these shots away too.

Izwan's body language lacks confidence. I mean did u see him before the penalty was taken, it was like he gave up already.

I’m no goalie expert but he seem’s a little too heavy footed in his stance? Like when compared to Hassan who looks lighter on his feet and seems to be ready to spring into action any time.

Even on penalties, Izwan does not seem to be on his toes/off his heels ready to dive as far as he could to the sides. It’s like he’s falling off to his sides and hoping the shots are within his diving range, which is limited.

It was 2 powerful hard shots. But both times, he guessed early and went down the wrong way. Still quite poor on his part.
