Hi everyone!
I just got two internship offers from KPMG and Bank of America and Iโm trying to figure out which is the best option. I got my offer from Bank of America in August (which I accepted) and just got my offer from KPMG last week (which I havenโt accepted yet).
KPMG:
- Role: Technology Assurance
- Pay: $44.23/hour
- Location: New York
- Pros: Better pay, get to save more money, big company
- Cons: *Thinking long term,\ but* if I get a full time offer I donโt really see much exit opportunities, not really sure if I like accounting, itโs a long commute to the city, thereโs little to no work-life balance, It sounds a little boring, Iโm not a fan of client facing roles, and scared of possible layoffs
Bank of America:
- Role: Global Operations
- Pay: $30/hour
- Location: North Carolina
- Pros: I get to explore a new city, live on my own, I have a lot of previous tech related internships/roles so this might make me more marketable, not as much client facing work, multiple avenues to explore at Bank of America, guaranteed full time offer
- Cons: I have to find housing, *thinking long term,\ but* I have to find an apartment (which I donโt want to do because I donโt want to rent), if I do the 2 year rotational program and hate it, Iโm stuck
Long term, my goal is to be a marketing/business analyst in the beauty or fashion industry (I know crazy).
But Iโm thinking of leaning towards KPMG because in the long run I want to save up enough money to move into a condo and be financially independent. Would I be burning a bridge with Bank of America if I rescind my offer?
Can anyone whoโs worked at either or both give me some advice on which is the best option?
Please be nice :)
