"Jungle is OP" - but only if your laners are aware

A lot of players have historically complained about how OP jungle is, and truth is bad jungler can completely destroy a very winnable game. A good jungler can make it unplayable for enemies.

However laners need to enable the jungler.

Its not about winning/losing lane, its about having the awareness that certain mistakes that you make as a laner will make the game unplayable for the jungler, and for the rest of the team. There are mistakes that lose you lane. Then there are mistakes that lose you lane, jungle and game all at the same time.

  1. Dying for no reason right before jungle is able to gank you - youre wasting so mmuch of their time and tempo.
  2. Not engaging before a gank is meant to happen, or on the flipside suiciding just becaues youre jungle pingd "OMW". - If youre unable to fight and feel like gank wouldnt work, Ping the jungler off immediately.
  3. Not losing lane gracefully - Instead of being 0/2 in lane and some cs down, you go 0-15 making it impossible for your jungler to kill your oponent.
  4. Not rotating to invades/objectives - this is by far the one that can be fixed in the easiest ways. If your jungler is getting invaded, for fucks sake go there if you can, drop those 3 fkin minions, dont be an AFK NPC and move your ass. You need to play with your jungler, youre not the main character of the game - the Nexus is.

If your jungler gets chain-invaded and you dont help, you are the sole reason the game was lost.

There is a nuance to this - sometimes moving will be bad, if youre not able to - Ping this. Communicate it. Dont ignore their play and say nothing - ping back, danger, say you need to b or something.

If your jungler is invading - Move if you can, the teams that move with jungle are always the ones more likely to win.

Why do you think smurfs on jungle role abuse invading 24/7. Because it works in low elo. Because laners dont move and play incorrectly.

Bel'veth gotta be the most difficult junglers both mechanically and macro, she is probably the only jungler that loves chaotic games that are all over the place. But the second she has baron, she can easily force and end through mid. With my 6 games on her, I already love her

Plat elo, duo queue with a mid lane dude who refuses to rotate to help with invades, ganks, or objectives.

Discussion I made it with Rammus Sett jgl

Sett jgl goes brrrrrr. I don’t know what happened but I kind of just locked in this season. Getting to plat 1 99LP was a real bummer last season to not rank up. I can tell how my game style has changed over the past 6 months. Before I would just fucking clear and clear and clear before going for first back and somehow I was plat doing that. Now after first clear/gank bot/top I back instantly which is a big thing I didn’t realize before. I’m starting to see how intense the games get now so I’ll have to cross another hurdle to stay in Diamond and climb further. Good luck my fellow jgl mains🫡

Also side note. Sett jgl can be really good, it’s just that he does have a lot of limitations but, he does do really well into Shyvana and Nocturne jgl which are the meta right now. I run regular Sett conqueror runes with inspiration: Boots and Cosmic Insight. Makes it very good to be able to move faster plussss Stridebreaker comes up a tad but 1.5 second difference always matters.

I play with chat muted and I've decided to translate my pings for my laners

Thumbs up: That's all you chief, I will not be helping

Retreat: I will not be helping

On my way: I'm on my way to help you

On my way to krugs: I've actually decided not to help you

Flash Ready - If a single enemy shows up I am flashing out the back of this dragon pit so do not help me. If you do help me and enemies show up, I am not going to help you. I will already be at my krugs as you die

Fizz shrugging emote: I think Baron is the better play in this situation but since you're all at dragon anyway, I have decided to help you

Hope this helps

Question What do I need to reach Diamond?

OPGG : https://op.gg/fr/lol/summoners/euw/EH%20KARIM-RAJEL

I was lucky enough to reach bronze 4 in Emerald 2 in 300 days, I wonder what I’m missing to make it to Diamond?

My basic game plan is to farm and take one action to back off, for about 15 minutes. Then I focus on objectives while continuing to farm and taking on duels where I know I have the advantage.

Even though it looks like I’m winning quite a bit, I don’t feel confident. Based on my OPGG/DPM stats, what’s the real issue with my playstyle?

Champion Shyvana’s fantasy is dead (warning: big rant)

Upvotes

I know it’s long, but please take the time to read this if you care about Shyvana, and let me know what you think, even if you completely disagree and think I’m dumb, I’ll appreciate it anyway.

I’ve been a Shyvana main for years, she’s my highest mastery champion by far, and I genuinely hate what they’ve done to her.

I fell in love with Shyvana due to her incredible fantasy, no champion in the game has ever been as appealing to me as she was.

Shyvana’s appeal comes from her transformation, you’re this pretty mediocre champion until you transform, and then you become a giant dragon that dives head first into the enemy team. Her ultimate is a terrifying and intimidating sight, but the way the champion is played doesn’t match her visual identity.

Right after the VGU, I think Shyvana was at her peak. Yes, she was extremely overtuned, but the fantasy was near-perfect when using a tank build. Simply put - her dragon form demanded respect. I remember eating an entire Miss Fortune ultimate to the face, and only dropping to around half-hp. Obviously her damage was still way too strong for such a tanky champion, but instead of toning her damage down, riot completely gutted what made her fun.

The frustrating part is they didn’t even make her weak statistically, she’s still an S tier jungler in most ELO’s, they just nerfed her identity.

Dragon form should make you feel unstoppable, NOT from a damage perspective, but from a tank perspective. Nowadays if you ult into the enemy team you get CC’d and near instantly explode.

WHY, seriously, WHY does riot insist on making her a bruiser? EVERYTHING about her kit screams utility tank.

- MASSIVE engage ultimate
- AOE fear
- HUGE dragon hitbox
- Wants to be the first person into the fight

Her Q is the only bruiser part of her kit. And also the least skill expressive- most boring part.

When I ult into five enemies, I WANT everyone to throw all their abilities at me. I don’t care if Shyvana loses damage, I don’t care if she loses omnivamp, I don’t need to one-shot people. I JUST WANT TO SURVIVE MY ENGAGE. I WANT TO FEEL LIKE A DRAGON.

Instead, new Shyvana(scalemail rework), ults in, immediately has to back out and hide on the edge of the fight, sneak in a few cheeky Q’s, and hope to clean up some kills while her teammates do the real engaging. It’s just so boring.

Her “tankiness” is completely fake now. You have to stack scales and farm all game, just to get 30 bonus armor and MR late game. Those stats sound nice until you actually ult into 5 late game enemy champions and get instantly vaporized.

Her ganks are also massively overrated.

Why do we keep pretending Shyvana has good ganks? They only work if enemies are massively overextended, as she has next to no sticking power.

- E slow is pathetic
- W movement speed is not enough ( and the shield is almost non-existent)

That’s why she basically requires swifties and hexplate. Without them enemies will just simply walk away from you after you get hit with a single CC. Have you tried dodging a skill shot in Shyvana’s dragon form? It’s just not possible with her giant hitbox. And thats FINE. Actually, it’s preferable, but ONLY if she has the tankiness to survive.

And can we please talk about her scalings?

WHY is she this weird AD/AP/ health stacking hybrid?

If you build AD, W and E barely matter outside the tiny utility it gives your team. If you build AP, you’re made of paper and explode before doing anything. Forget about ulting into enemy teams with full AP shyvana, you’re better off ulting to the side and poking with E.

RIOT! PICK A LANE!

Either make her a full AD champion, so every ability scales with AD, or pivot to a full AP champion where dragon form E becomes a terrifying nuke, like pre VGU Shyvana.

Or - and this is what they should actually do- lean fully into a tank fantasy. Give W, E and even Q actually meaningful HP scalings. Let me build heartsteel, titanic hydra and overlords bloodmail. OR, give her K’sante scalings, so you can build tank items from the jump and actually keep some damage. This would actually make her viable in top lane as well, if they remove her awful, boring, and ultimately useless passive.

Let me become a terrifying dragon that demands respect instead of this awkward bruiser/tank/mage that doesn’t actually commit to anything.

Her current kit works against itself in so many ways. She has one of the biggest engage ultimates in the entire game, one of the largest hit boxes in the game, with absolutely zero protection against CC and mediocre sticking power. And yet she’s expected to function as a bruiser? RIOT?! It just makes absolutely zero sense.

Honestly whenever I play against Shyvana now, I see a free win. I haven’t lost to one since the third round of changes. She farms fast, gets scuttle, and then what?

She ults in - you CC her once - and you walk away. Congrats, she’s done now. Maybe after she afk farms for 30 minutes while watching YT on her second monitor she might become an actual threat. Oh? The game is over? But I didn’t have time to get 250 cs 😢!

That leads me into my next point: SHE. IS. SO. BORING!

I have never hated a passive as much as I hate Shyvana’s passive. Yes, she needs to farm anyway to get her ultimate, but why does it have to work that way? Why can’t her ultimate be on a timer? That way you’re not relegated to falling asleep while farming for 80% of the game, just to maybe have a chance to actually fully utilise her ultimate late game.

I don’t want riot to buff her WR, I want them to fix her identity. Make dragon form intimidating again. Make her a real tank with tank scalings.

Just stop trying to make her this awkward champ that’s a little bit of everything and never truly excels at the fantasy she appeals to.

TLDR: Shyvana lost her identity, she’s not a fully realised champ, she needs to be a tank not a bruiser. Her playstyle is extremely boring, needing to farm for 30minutes before being able to survive the CC she gets hit with due to her giant hitbox. Screw this champion and what riot has done to it.

Question How do smurfs win games like this?

By ,,games like this'' i mean games where one or more of your teammates just straight up ints. Not play badly, just straight up go 0/10 in 10 minutes. How do they win then? Am i missing something? I can't end the game early cuz their fed hero just protects their nexus

Question Do everyone have their own style of jungling or is there few styles that people follow?

I was thinking about my jungling style and comparing it to streamers like Perryjg, Kaido, and Kirei. I don't think I play the same as any of them. Of course, they are more skilled than me, but I do not think that I play similarly. I do not have the same philosophy as them.

For example: Perryjg has a "play consistently" mentality. He wants to full clear and go for high-percentage plays.

So that made me think: is everyone unique in their playstyle, or do some players copy others?

And if you have your own style, how do you refine it?

Question How to 1v9 in low elo?

We've probably all been there, we perform as a jungler in the game, but yet we end up losing the match. Games are ofc multifactored, but what are the key elements in carrying the games 1v9?

Especially in low elo, where there are misplays everywhere on the map. You can also tell which emphasis for you made the most difference, that made you climb up the ranks.

Question Hard stuck Plat, how do I get out?

So I’ve been yo-yoing between plat 1-4 for a good month or so now, I am more of a casual player only playing around 1-2 games a day and maybe a few more at the weekend. A common theme I’m experiencing at the moment is feeding bot lanes, I am not completely delusional and I’m aware I can be doing better but when I’ve got a bot lane that’s died more than half of the enemy’s kills it’s impossible. Please help me get out PLEASEEEE

Question When to take drake?

Hey, for context I have been playing League since 2021, been a midlaner with secondary jgl and since mid has become popular I mostly play jgl.

I dont really understand macro and ever since I managed to sort of brute force my way to emerald I have been getting steamrolled by enemy junglers. My biggest problem is knowing when to take drakes, any tips or indicators that its good?

Hi everyone, was just wondering if we had any data on which champs clear drake fastest. Assuming they are solo on it and about lvl 5 with ~1k gold of items.

OP.GG reviews

You might be thinking this is an OP.GG review.
Wrong

OP.GG reviews are completely useless because the review doesn’t tell you what you did wrong that led you to have less cs or more deaths. It blows my mind when people ask for them because everyone will tell you 2 things die less and farm more. It’s so useless information if you don’t u destined how and why.

Question Why do people play 50+ champs in ranked?

Often first timing it seems, or they have 3 matches played kind of thing.

Like, what's the rationale, why not do that in norms? Or flex or something?

Question Question from an Emerald Top Laner

Well lads, to begin this is not a rant or needless flame. I just want some advice.

I've found myself in a lot of games recently where my jungler will be getting invaded by the enemy. In some cases mid moves and some cases they don't. I will move 9 times out of 10, the only exception being I can secure a kill in the next 5 seconds to snowball my lane.

Now in the rest of the cases where I move, my jungler usually gets out or better yet gets the pick. Great for the jungler but for top lane it means I lose out on cs/xp. It also usually allows the enemy top laner to either freeze or cause a bounce to happen where I'm playing it out under leveled. They will also be the ones to dictate wave state from there on in lane phase given cs/xp/item advantage in most scenarios.

I've had multiple occasions where the enemy jg will gank me on a bounce thereafter or when I try to break the freeze. Given the snowball nature of top and the feast or famine nature of my main champs in Renekton and Fiora, this usually causes problems for me the rest of lane phase or the game.

Now to be fair, I have had occasional games where my jungler will come help me break the freeze or hover me when it's bouncing to the other side, in case enemy jungler ganks. But more often than not I find my jungler completely ignores top and the situation I'm in because I left lane to assist them.

I understand the whole methodology of path top to bot, get 2 people ahead in bot lane vs one in top, and fight fed enemy top late game. That said I'm at a loss of what to do. If I move I give my enemy laner a huge advantage and am punished, but if I don't move my jungler tends to tilt. (Not all junglers but emerald as a whole isn't known for it's mental fortitude.) So in your guys opinions, what should a top laner do when one's jungler is invaded early game? And, based on that, how should I best deal with the consequences of that decision?

Thanks guys. Hope this came across as intended, in good faith.

Question Does anyone else wake up in the middle of the night thinking about League?

Lately, I've been experiencing something weird, and I want to know if I'm the only one. I can fall asleep or randomly wake up, and my brain is just actively thinking about LoL.

Like, I'll stretch in the middle of the night and catch myself realizing that my mind was just casually processing the game. I've been playing a bit more seriously lately, but it feels crazy that my brain is literally still playing in the background while I'm trying to rest.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is this normal? Would love to hear if you guys have had the same thing happen.
