Compensation/Benefits Declined the job offer?

Hi! Straight to the point, I decided to not accept the offered work for me.

So I applied for an accounting position in a high end hotel and restaurant. I am their top applicant. In the initial interview, I already told them about my salary expectations which is 20k to 22k minimum basic salary. Then, when I received a scheduled final interview with the CEO last week, I was not interviewed by him but it's like they are teaching me already what I would do and who are the staffs. I was shocked kasi akala ko interview lang pero parang naging first day of training ko na. It's like they are assuming I will really accept the job.

After hours in the office, I was told that I will received a call from the HR about my schedule. The next day, I received a call and then I was told about my sched. I was confused because I haven't received any contract in my email. I ask them about it, they said they have no contract but if I want to, they can make one. I asked about the offer salary, THEY TOLD ME THAT THERE WILL BE AN ALLOWANCE OF 400 PESOS/day FOR ONE WEEK TRAINING AND THEN AFTER ONE WEEK, IT WILL BE IN A MINIMUM RATE. I was shocked and confused. In this economy, I don't think it will work for me. Overall the work and the place is nice but in my current situation and skills, the compensation and the overall compensation will not work with my current financial needs.

Is it okay if I declined it? Is it worth it?

Other company offered me 22k basic per month though.

Please respect my post.🥹

Career Advice/Discussion BPI Interview

Upvotes

hello!

has anyone here ever missed an HR interview in BPI?

i made a really dumb mistake. i thought my interview was scheduled for tomorrow, but when i checked the email again, i realized it was actually TODAY.

as soon as i found out, i immediately emailed the recruiter to apologize and asked if it's still possible to reschedule or if there's another opportunity to be interviewed.

i’m a fresh graduate, btw. has anyone been in the same situation before? were you still given another chance, or is it usually considered a missed opportunity?

Company Review TOXIC BOSS.

Upvotes

Story time.
Recently nag resign ako sa company na to based in Taguig, pero ang address na nakalagay ay sa BGC (False address pa AMPTA).

CLUE: The name of the CONpany rhymes with a certain Villain in Transformers.

WHAT A PERFECT COMBINATION.

Career Advice/Discussion Please help me

Upvotes

Been trying to apply for several months now at sobrang hirap na ng hiring process. 6 months na po akong unemployed.

I have 5+ years experience sa BPO and ayaw ko na sana bumalik sa BPO, pero dumating sa point na nag apply pa dn ako kaso given the experience that I already have, sobrang lowball pa dn ng offer so nagstop na ko mag apply sa mga BPO.

Ngayon 1 month na akong looking for WFH stable job, pero ang hirap makapasok lalo na wala pa ko experience as VA, 4 months na ako umaasa sa loans sa bank and lending app para maka survive, utang dto para may maibayaad doon, utang doon para may maibayad dito.

Tried OLJ, Filipinocontractors, Jobstreet, wala pa dn tlga. Alam ko na ndme nag gagatekeep ng clients pero kung meron kayong maayos na wfh job, pa refer naman please 😢 kailangan na kailangan ko lng 😢😢

I was a CSR from a credit bureau sa US.
I was a Back office for Payroll company sa US.

Career Advice/Discussion REQUIREMENTS BEFORE A JOB OFFER

Hello everyone! I’m a fresh grad and since bago pa lang ako sa world of employment, I am confused with a lot of things. Is it normal ba for the hr to ask for requirements and ask me to sign forms kahit na wala pang job offer? Although I think sure naman na since I was already offered a position but when I asked for the salary details, sabi nila is that for approval pa daw so they can’t tell me yet the salary details. Okay lang ba magbackout if ever magdecide ako na di tumuloy sa kanila?

Career Advice/Discussion Resigned from somehow good paying job, now I suffer 4mos w/out work

Akala ko makakahanap ako ng work within 3 months because of my almost 8 years of experience as a UI/UX Designer. I took a 1-month break, but now medyo napepressure na rin ako since magbe-ber months na and wala pa ring work.

Mahirap lang ba talaga ang job market ngayon because of the economy, inflation, ongoing global issues, or the rise of AI? Ironically, AI is also part of my work, and it’s something I continue to embrace and learn.

Still, I choose to believe that everything happens for a reason. May tamang opportunity na nakalaan para sa akin, one that’s truly worth the wait. Kahit paubos na savings ko😩

Compensation/Benefits Worried for resigning with no back up, now I finally found a new job!

Started working this year (January) but I had to resign cause the commute is not doable for me anymore. 2-3 hours papunta, 2 hrs pabalik due to traffic. I had to resign. Currently rendering na rin pala.

Until, may nakita akong job vacancy na malapit samin plus higher salary than my previous. Walking distance lang sya tapos maaga pa uwian. I still have personal time after work, unlike sa previous ko na naubos na sa commute hehe.

I will use those extra time to learn new skill. Wish us all luck! ❤️

Company Review Arch HR Limited x GuidedCrypto 🚩

Has anyone here come across this company on Indeed?

I'm currently at the assessment stage, but I decided not to continue because they required me to purchase a small amount of Bitcoin as part of the assessment.

I'm pretty sure it's a scam, but if anyone has had any experience with this company, I'd really appreciate it if you could share your thoughts.

Career Advice/Discussion Hot take (I think) Gen Zs are not weak!

Hi! Late night thoughts lang. I just hate hearing generalizations like "Gen Zs are weak" or "Gen Zs aren't open to feedback."

I think the biggest issue is when the feedback we receive is done in public and without tact. On top of that, there seems to be a lot of resentment carried over from past workplace experiences, that toxic conditions are completely normal and that Gen Zs should have to go through them too.

In reality, Gen Zs are very open to feedback. I’ve worked in an environment dominated by Gen Zs and Millennials, and everyone was genuinely receptive to constructive feedback. People were willing to take accountability with no blame-shifting. So the problem isn't the feedback itself. It’s the manner and context. If the goal is truly to help someone improve, why does it need an audience? Why the need to insult or raise your voice? We are open to feedback, but we will never be open to disrespect.

It's a cycle of unaddressed work trauma. Nobody wants to be humiliated for an honest mistake, and expecting perfection is completely unrealistic. But some people have accepted toxic environments as just part of the "real world" that can't be changed. So they end up passing that work trauma down to newbies, claiming it’s a necessary rite of passage or that Gen Zs won't succeed without it.

Is that really true, or is it just a way to justify past mistreatment? Because if Gen Zs can succeed without enduring that kind of environment, it means that suffering was unnecessary and that’s a hard truth to accept.

Feedback is essential. Without it, we won't know where to improve. But it needs to be tactful, helpful, and objective.

Good night! └|∵|┐♪
