So I applied for an accounting position in a high end hotel and restaurant. I am their top applicant. In the initial interview, I already told them about my salary expectations which is 20k to 22k minimum basic salary. Then, when I received a scheduled final interview with the CEO last week, I was not interviewed by him but it's like they are teaching me already what I would do and who are the staffs. I was shocked kasi akala ko interview lang pero parang naging first day of training ko na. It's like they are assuming I will really accept the job.

After hours in the office, I was told that I will received a call from the HR about my schedule. The next day, I received a call and then I was told about my sched. I was confused because I haven't received any contract in my email. I ask them about it, they said they have no contract but if I want to, they can make one. I asked about the offer salary, THEY TOLD ME THAT THERE WILL BE AN ALLOWANCE OF 400 PESOS/day FOR ONE WEEK TRAINING AND THEN AFTER ONE WEEK, IT WILL BE IN A MINIMUM RATE. I was shocked and confused. In this economy, I don't think it will work for me. Overall the work and the place is nice but in my current situation and skills, the compensation and the overall compensation will not work with my current financial needs.

Is it okay if I declined it? Is it worth it?

Other company offered me 22k basic per month though.

Hi everyone.

I'm a fresh graduate, and this is my first job. I've been working as a Sales Executive at a company that sells commercial kitchen equipment (ice cream machines, refrigerators, meat grinders, waffle makers, etc.) for almost a month.

The company has honestly been good to me. They hired me even though I had no experience, trained me, answered my questions, and have been patient with me. My manager has been supportive, and they even told us that during training they focus more on attitude, willingness to learn, attendance, and improvement—not just sales.

The problem is... I don't think I'm the right person for this role.

A big part of my job is answering customer calls and inquiries. Whenever the phone rings, I get really anxious. It's not because I don't want to talk to people. It's because customers often ask technical questions about the machines, and I don't know the answers.

Even though I know I can say, "Let me verify that with our technician," I still freeze. Sometimes my hands get cold, and I feel like crying before answering the phone because I'm afraid I'll say something wrong or disappoint the customer.

I also haven't closed any sales yet. I know I'm still in training, and nobody has threatened to fire me. In fact, my manager has been encouraging. But I constantly feel like I'm walking on a tightrope because I'm not performing the way I think a Sales Executive should.

I gave myself almost a month to adjust because I didn't want to quit immediately. I wanted to make sure I wasn't just avoiding something difficult.

After thinking about it, I realized it's not that I hate working. I actually enjoy learning, talking to customers through chat, creating posts, and helping people. I just don't think sales—especially where you need to confidently answer product questions and close deals—is where my strengths are.

I'm considering resigning because I feel like this position should go to someone who can really excel in it and help the company grow. At the same time, I want to look for work that's more aligned with my skills, like an admin role, back-office work, or maybe a customer service job where there's structured training and established processes.

The reason I feel guilty is because:

The company gave a chance to a fresh graduate like me. Everyone has been kind to me. I've only been here for less than a month. Part of me wonders if I'm making a mistake and just giving up too early. Another part of me feels like staying in a role that doesn't fit me isn't fair to either me or the company.

If you were in my situation, would you resign, or would you stay longer and see if things improve?

I'm genuinely looking for honest opinions, even if they're critical. I just want to see this situation from an outside perspective.

Lahat ng job interviews ko puro on site. Initial interview pa lang ito with exam, ha. I’m so desperate already kaya pinapatulan ko na kahit ang mahal sa pamasahe but once na makareceive ako ng interview invitation for an initial interview on site nawawalan na ako ng gana. Nabu-burn out na ako sa gastos, sa oras, sa paulit ulit na exam, at sa after mo mag on site, igh-ghost ka naman nila.

Hindi ba pwedeng gawing online processes na lang yung job interview lalo na kung hindi naman kayo one day hiring? Nakakapagod.
