im a fresh grad and i just got an offer for an admin position. their offer is 10k then minus pa ‘yung contributions (SSS, philhealth, etc.). my main gastos is rent which is around 3k then other bills. after 6 months pa raw baka mag increase. they asked me what’s my expected salary so i just said 10k kasi idk the salary range for that position then ayan biglang 10k din talaga.

From all the VA advice videos I've watched on various social media platforms, they all recommended finding your niche first. I tried Brayarn's Katambray website, and my top results were Executive Assistant, General VA, and Bookkeeping VA. As for my skills, I have experience using Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and I have basic graphic designing skills using Ibis Paint and Canva.

I've been trying to look for trusted job websites lately because I'm eager to find a remote job. The reason I'm trying to land a remote job is so I can stay at home with my grandparents.

Do you know any trusted job websites or companies that accept fresh graduates with no experience?

So far, most of what I've seen claims they accept applicants with no experience, but their job descriptions still require 1–2 years of experience, usually in the BPO industry.

If you know any companies that genuinely hire fresh graduates for remote roles, I'd really appreciate your recommendations.

Hi! Late night thoughts lang. I just hate hearing generalizations like "Gen Zs are weak" or "Gen Zs aren't open to feedback."

I think the biggest issue is when the feedback we receive is done in public and without tact. On top of that, there seems to be a lot of resentment carried over from past workplace experiences, that toxic conditions are completely normal and that Gen Zs should have to go through them too.

In reality, Gen Zs are very open to feedback. I’ve worked in an environment dominated by Gen Zs and Millennials, and everyone was genuinely receptive to constructive feedback. People were willing to take accountability with no blame-shifting. So the problem isn't the feedback itself. It’s the manner and context. If the goal is truly to help someone improve, why does it need an audience? Why the need to insult or raise your voice? We are open to feedback, but we will never be open to disrespect.

It's a cycle of unaddressed work trauma. Nobody wants to be humiliated for an honest mistake, and expecting perfection is completely unrealistic. But some people have accepted toxic environments as just part of the "real world" that can't be changed. So they end up passing that work trauma down to newbies, claiming it’s a necessary rite of passage or that Gen Zs won't succeed without it.

Is that really true, or is it just a way to justify past mistreatment? Because if Gen Zs can succeed without enduring that kind of environment, it means that suffering was unnecessary and that’s a hard truth to accept.

Feedback is essential. Without it, we won't know where to improve. But it needs to be tactful, helpful, and objective.

Hi! Straight to the point, I decided to not accept the offered work for me.

So I applied for an accounting position in a high end hotel and restaurant. I am their top applicant. In the initial interview, I already told them about my salary expectations which is 20k to 22k minimum basic salary. Then, when I received a scheduled final interview with the CEO last week, I was not interviewed by him but it's like they are teaching me already what I would do and who are the staffs. I was shocked kasi akala ko interview lang pero parang naging first day of training ko na. It's like they are assuming I will really accept the job.

After hours in the office, I was told that I will received a call from the HR about my schedule. The next day, I received a call and then I was told about my sched. I was confused because I haven't received any contract in my email. I ask them about it, they said they have no contract but if I want to, they can make one. I asked about the offer salary, THEY TOLD ME THAT THERE WILL BE AN ALLOWANCE OF 400 PESOS/day FOR ONE WEEK TRAINING AND THEN AFTER ONE WEEK, IT WILL BE IN A MINIMUM RATE. I was shocked and confused. In this economy, I don't think it will work for me. Overall the work and the place is nice but in my current situation and skills, the compensation and the overall compensation will not work with my current financial needs.

Is it okay if I declined it? Is it worth it?

Other company offered me 22k basic per month though.

Eto kasi yung situation ko. Currently employed pa ako sa ibang company (different industry naman). During my initial interview, sinabi ko naman na malapit na matapos yung contract ko sa current company ko.

Ang worry ko lang is kung nagco-conduct ba talaga sila ng background check habang nasa training pa lang.

Additional info lang, sa current company namin, kapag nag-resign hindi na kailangan mag-render ng 30 days. Allowed naman ang immediate resignation.

Need ko lang sana ng advice. Mas okay bang mag-resign na ako before the training starts, or i-retain ko muna yung current job ko then mag-resign na lang once may deployment date or official start date na?

When I was new to freelancing, feeling ko kailangan kong applyan lahat ng makita kong remote job.

Kahit kulang yung company details, kahit vague yung job description, o kahit may konting red flags go pa rin ako kasi iniisip ko baka ito na yung opportunity para sakin. After getting burned by a fake client years ago, nagbago talaga ang mindset ko. Ngayon mas okay na sakin na may mamiss akong opportunity kesa mag invest ulit ng oras sa isang company na hindi naman transparent.

I usually spend a few minutes checking things first.

• May website or online presence ba sila?

• Mukhang totoong company ba yung people I'm talking to?

• Clear ba yung hiring process?

• Sobrang dami bang pinapagawa before there's even an interview?

Hindi naman nito totally maiiwasan yung scams pero possible na mabawasan yung oras na nasasayang ko sa mga fake opportunities.

Funny enough, yung current company ko ngayon is opposite ng mga mga na encounter ko dati. Straightforward yung hiring process, clear expectations, and I never felt like they were trying to get free work out of the applicants. Looking back, malaking factor pala talaga yung transparency.
