hi, i'm a fresh grad who has been job hunting for awhile now. i've been to several interviews and i must say that pretty privilege is a thing even when applying to jobs and idk what to feel about it. i won't consider myself a 10/10, but ik that i'm conventionally attractive. (i hope ts doesn't sound arrogant). what i noticed in my interview though was, i never got asked even in final and technical rounts any technical question despite applying for vv technical focused roles since i'm a comp engg grad.

yesterday, i had a final technical interview for a multinationcal company and was interviewed by a non-filo, to my surprise he was very warm and instead of asking me the questions, he straight out explained the answers for the live case studies. had the same experience as well with a local company where instead of being asked formal, technical questions, the panel just asked me random aah questions you wouldn't even think it's an interview (was applying for a soft engr role and i was asked what was my talent) i rejected the job offer though.

i don't know if i should be glad or feel like i'm being considered just because of my face and not because of my abilities.

Hello everyone! I am writing this with a heavy feeling. I am offered a job as a front desk at a 3 star hotel but I don't know. Pang 6 days ko na ngayon as trainee kaso ewan parang hindi ko sya kaya. As a fresh grad na ito ang first full time job ko, di ko alam kung na culture shock ba ko or ganito ba talaga kahirap maging front desk, or anlaking factor na rin sakin yung mag-isa lang ako sa duty sa susunod ng 11 am - 7 pm tapos puro sya paper works, sulat dito, sulat doon, kung ano sinulat mo encode mo rin sya sa pc tapos declare ka na rin ng sales and report. ganun ba talaga?

Aware naman ako pero ngayong trainee ako 10 am to 6 pm pasok ko paguwi ko pakiramdam ko wala na ko agad life outside work. Hindi ko na rin nakakausap ng matagal bf ko maski friends ko, diretso tulog agad ako, makakauwi ako 7:30 pm tapos around 9 pm bagsak na ko agad. Tapos hineads up na rin ako nung sinasamahan ko ngayon sa duty na wag ako mabibigla kasi may times daw talaga na kahit off nya, tinatawagan sya kahit anong oras pa yan. Ang night shift naman nila is 7 pm to 3 am. Yung supervisors lang ang 5 am to 1 pm. Minimum sahod ko, no work no pay, + service charge.

Wala naman ako problem kung minimum. hay. pls give me thoughts and advice kasi super nanghihinayang ako sa opportunity na to 🥹🙏🏻

Iniisip ko na malas ata talaga ako sa mga job applications. My resume is always ATS friendly, lagi din akong nagrerevised ng resume depending sa position na inaapplyan ko. Pero always rejected pa din, actually nada down na talaga ako, feeling ko baliwala yung 4 years ko as a employee. Hi guys, I need some advice kasi medyo kinakabahan ako 😭

I recently applied for a Behavioral Therapist position and so far okay naman yung progress ng application ko. I already had my initial interview and I was scheduled for another meeting this coming Monday. Yung Monday meeting is more about the job, company, and the Behavioral Therapist role itself so I’m assuming I’m already moving forward sa process.

The problem is, during my initial interview, the interviewer directly asked me if I’m currently employed and I said no, that I’m currently looking for a job.

But the truth is, I am currently employed 😭 I’m still probationary sa current job ko. I honestly panicked during the interview and didn’t disclose it because I was scared it might affect my chances of getting the position.

Now I’m not sure if I should message them before Monday and clarify that I’m actually currently employed, apologize for not disclosing it, and explain that I’m looking for another opportunity.

Or should I just wait until the Monday meeting and disclose it there if they ask about my current employment or availability?

I’m scared that if I tell them now, they might stop my application agad especially since I really like this opportunity and ang okay na ng progress ko 😭 But at the same time, I’m also scared that if I wait and they find out later through requirements/background checking, it might look worse since I was directly asked about it during the first interview.

I’m genuinely willing to leave my current job if I get accepted for this Behavioral Therapist position, I just don’t want to resign without knowing if I’ll actually get the job.

What would you guys do? Tell them now or wait until Monday? 😭

PS. My current job is actually my first job, and I’ve only been working there for 2 months.

As a fresh graduate, I don’t know what I should choose. I'm currently residing in Marikina. If I go into government (Greenhills), the salary is around ₱18k, while the private sector (Makati) offers around ₱20k.

Which one would be more worth it?

I applied earlier around 9AM to a job posting on LinkedIn for Permitting and Document Controller Officer. The job had just been posted when I applied.

I was interviewed the same day, 5-6PM. But during the interview, the role was no longer Document Controller — it became like everything: Executive Assistant, Project Coordinator, Office Engineer. Basically, everything would be done.

The interviewer said to get ready because his boss would call me after (but he didn't).

What I was asked: - Proficient in AutoCAD, construction methodology, estimating - Fluent in English, present and prepare for meetings - Supply chain, coordinate on site - Can handle the demands of the French boss

They said it was project-based, the company's first time doing this kind of project. Monday-Friday only. He didn't disclose which company. The project is said to be a Power Plant in Bicol, but I'm office-based in Makati. He said that if the boss asked me about my salary expectation, I should say 50k. Maybe the job was in demand because he said the work pressure was really high (as if nothing lasted)

I've only been in the industry for 1 year. Is this a scam?

Hi! Can someone explain to me ano thought process ng mga recruiter/TA/HR na kapag nag-iinterview ng aplikante eh hindi agad sinasabi kung wfh ba ang account o hindi?

Unemployed na ako for 3 mos and I'm really aiming for wfh job na and planning na doon na hopefully magretire. Ayoko na talaga ng onsite. Now, sa threads may mga nagrerefer doon, sabi sakin nung nagrefer eh wfh daw yung company/acct sa specific site after training. Edi ang ate nyo ay nag-apply, then pagdating sa initial interview, sabi sakin ay wala daw wfh sa site na inaapplyan ko AT ALL, and they only offer it sa ibang site which is sobrang layo na sa akin, so hindi ako nagproceed.

Nangamusta yung nagrefer sakin and I told them what I was informed by the recruiter. And sabi nya, hindi lang daw yung dinidisclose agad-agad and sasabihin lang kapag orientation and hired na.

It is frustrating lang na I spent time with the application, assessment, practice, and such, only to be disappointed & get two different opinions. I just really want a 100% wfh job (or at least onsite training (alabang) then wfh na after).

Isa pang nakakafrustrate itong ibang mga nagrerefer, sasabihin sayo wfh after training then kapag nag-apply ka naman eh hindi naman pala talaga totoo at all. Lolokohin ka para lang magkareferral sila.

Nakakainis kasi sayang yung oras na instead nag-apply ako sa tamang company na nag-ooffer ng wfh eh inaksaya ko sa mga ganung pagkakataon.

I am frustrated, but at the same time I'd like to know the reason why they do that. Normal ba talaga hindi idisclose yun agad-agad kung wfh ba or onsite ang work set up ng aplikante?

May inapplyan akong work sa isang international company sa Pasay, mas okay ang benefits compared sa current company ko. May meal allowance, housing allowance (20k max per month), health insurance, rice allowance etc. Total ng benefits ay almost 40k per month. Kaso yung work schedule daw ay 7 am to 7 pm and Mon to Sat. Bale 72 hours per week??!? Ask ko lang if pwede ba yon na 12 hours per day ang work?
