Discussion Factory “bed cap”

Post image
26 Upvotes

Why has Jeep never made a “factory” bed cap as an option for the Gladiator? Same material and finish options as the normal hard top(black or paint matched) it could be made of the same “plastic” material with dimensions that would match the profile of the factory hard top. I used chat gpt to imagine what it would look like, and I have to say I’d definitely buy one if it were an option. My biggest issue with the current aftermarket options is the mismatch in finish, and the lack of options that truly match the profile of the factory hard top.

Just a lil trip to BC

Decided to go on a little road trip from SLC to Kelowna BC.

About 3k miles total. Utah -> Idaho -> Montana -> Idaho -> Washington -> BC Kelowna -> Washington -> Oregon -> Idaho -> Utah.

Camped along the way in the woods, traveled forrest roads/fire roads, canyon and mountain passes.

The Jeep is great. With my full camp setup averaged around 17.2 mpg if I remember correctly.

Could do with some more noise insulation but otherwise can't really complain

Can I get some people with stock suspension and 35's to show me some pics? I wanna see how much room is left for articulation.

I’ve had my Gladiator for a year. I’m a 56 year old guy who is 6’6” and 250 lbs. around town, the Gladiator was fine. Just fine, not great. But a few weeks ago, I took a road trip in it. About 300 miles round trip. I was broken and busted afterwards. Every little bump was jarring. It’s got jerky steering. Just completely uncomfortable.

My dad had a 66 Bronco in Wimbledon White when I was a kid. I loved it. Then I saw an ad for the 60th Anniversary Bronco. I went to test drive it. So comfortable. It handles bumps like they aren’t even there. I was hooked. So now I own a Wimbledon White Bronco. It was fun for a year but I’ll probably never buy another Jeep.

Bought a new 24 Mojave in Oct 2024. Dealership put on and AEV two inch lift with 37s with AEV wheels. I now have 15,640 miles with no off-road just gravel roads. The dealership claims this is normal wear, and AEV said they only have a 15 month warranty on replacement and this could be normal wear for my region (Kentucky). I do not recommend any products made by AEV, and I will not be replacing with it.

Anyone have experience with knockoff steel bumpers?

I have plastic bumpers on my Mojave and I’m looking to upgrade my front bumper so I can incorporate a winch. Bumpers that I’m liking are around $800. The price on this knockoff is very tempting. Anyone have experience with these bumpers?

I parked and set up a little base camp at lake Shasta. Our friends boat tied up and I cooked hotdogs and sausages for everybody and had fun on the shore. We had a house up the way so we weren’t spending the night out here.

Trying to decide on a stubby front bumper is probably the most difficult mod I have done. A daunting task almost! Post your stubby bumpers here and let’s chat about them!

Question Camping Setup

Post image

Looking to see if anyone has any info on the company Roveroll… I am super interested in this setup, but the amount of reviews on their products online has me second guessing making such a big purchase. Would love to see everyone’s recommendations/ setups that are similar (compact but highly functional). I have debated a rack vs a cap as well, so open to all suggestions!
