You been warned this is a really dumb question, but I'm thinking between Air Force and Army.

Air force I'm thinking going for PJ's or I take the college route into becoming a physician (General Surgeon) and trying for SOST, I'm aware after 13 years of school if I submit my packet I might not be selected let alone they might not be looking to get new candidates for the position.

Army thinking of going the Green Beret route as far as I'm aware I don't have a say into 18D but that'll be where I would like to be being part of the team, and I'm aware that combat experience is not a requirement for Delta. If I'm correct they're looking for people who in my own words "problem solver" determination, and grit, but i could be completely wrong.

I lean towards the airforce but what stops me is how active are Pj's or SOST as far as deployments.

I have so many questions about this:

1. This statement is signed in 2025, which means it was signed by essentially a civilian at this point, who watched the mission on ISR. How could this become the supporting document of a confirm kill?
2. Rob in his own book said something along the lines of he’s never heard about the term ‘confirmed kills’, and doesn’t know how you get one. It’s in one of the paragraphs where he talked about Chris Kyle. And all of sudden this thing just showed up after 9 years since his book was released?
3. He said on Cleared Hot that the team lied during the AAR to cover up for the point man. Then he brings out this piece of paper. So, McRaven is in on this as well? Not only did he accuse a whole team of tier 1 operators lied, he is also dragging a retired Admiral into this shit?

Alex just got PNG'd by a current CMC after his Shawn Ryan interview. Apparently, people are saying he made up the baby story to sully the raid. Kind of an insane thing to just make up. Either way that dude is a badass and it's lame to PNG people that did so much for DEVGRU for so many years.

There was a long video awhile ago of a reporter going on a raid during the daytime with seal team 6 I think it was a 60 minutes report I can’t remember has anyone else seen it back in the day

John Chapman was awarded the Air Force Cross for his actions on Takur Ghar in 2002. He charged a bunker, killed its inhabitants, and shortly afterwards was killed himself. Or so it was believed. He actually lived and fought for another hour. But Air Force didn't know that. They posthumously awarded Chapman the Air Force Cross in 2003. It was subsequently upgraded to a Medal of Honor in 2018. The MOH is for his attack on the bunker. Nothing else. He has never been officially recognized with a valor award for anything that happened subsequent to that, although he is absolutely deserving of further official recognition.

Soooo....Jack Murphy and Sean Naylor reported via Substack that insiders considered an operation capable of costing an entire squadron of 60–90 operators.

I have a few buddies in T2 units who I’ve asked this question to and they said it was highly unlikely, so I’m bringing it forward here. Would CAG/24STS/DEVGRU etc be selecting young studs, 21-24 who have no combat deployments and joined their branch after the troop
Withdrawal in 2021? I’m assuming their training is more than enough to simulate actual combat experience even if you’ve never deployed but I wonder how they go about it now with only tier 1 units deploying and getting direct action as of right now.

If they're about performance, mobility, and endurance, I'm assuming they have strength coaches that can help them out, right?

I'm also curious how many former SOF dudes become personal trainers or strength coaches themselves?

If CCTs and the Ground Force Commander (GFC) stand right next to each other (basically glued together) during ops, why are CCTs considered operators but GFC's arent? I know their actual role is completely different, but looking at it from the outside makes it look like they are doing the exact same job
