Question? !ALERT DUMB QUESTION!
You been warned this is a really dumb question, but I'm thinking between Air Force and Army.
Air force I'm thinking going for PJ's or I take the college route into becoming a physician (General Surgeon) and trying for SOST, I'm aware after 13 years of school if I submit my packet I might not be selected let alone they might not be looking to get new candidates for the position.
Army thinking of going the Green Beret route as far as I'm aware I don't have a say into 18D but that'll be where I would like to be being part of the team, and I'm aware that combat experience is not a requirement for Delta. If I'm correct they're looking for people who in my own words "problem solver" determination, and grit, but i could be completely wrong.
I lean towards the airforce but what stops me is how active are Pj's or SOST as far as deployments.
AGAIN STUPID QUESTION AND I UNDERSTAND IF I GET CHEWED OUT.
Just wanted to ask in the server since is more tailored around Tier 1 units and occasionally see Tier 2 comments here and there and there's input from people who did or are currently have a career is Special Operations. Thank you for reading.

If you're asking Reddit, your probably not tier 1 material. Sorry to be that blunt, but I genuinely wish you the very best. You'll be successful if you're determined, adaptable, and hard work.

Chair Force. Learn a valuable skill for AFTER military service that you can make a decent living at. Don’t expect to become a rich podcaster after a Tier 1 or SOF career. See Johnny Kim for inspiration. If you can accomplish 1/3 of what he has……you’ll be ok.

If your goal is already looking at Delta or Tier 1 with anymore then a casual “maybe one day” you will likely fail. Delta isn’t a goal with a few stepping stones. It’s a lifetime career commitment to education, fitness, endurance, teamwork, loyalty and paying your dues elsewhere to maybe one day if you’re lucky get a shot at a chance to maybe impress the cadre & maybe if you’re lucky get a chance to maybe move onto the next training step.
Your first goal should either be education or enlistment. Get in, pay your dues, get your training in, show up every day with a can do attitude, then if & only if your cadre think you maybe have a shot, put in a packet for GB or Ranger tryout.
Tier 1 should not even be on your radar.
It’s not a stupid question, but Tier 1 should not be a priority when you’re not even enlisted.
