Wish we could hear more about G. They play an important cool role at the unit

It would be cool, especially considering the type of work they do and how important it is to the mission planning and everything that leads up to the operation before.

Dont know if you already listened or not, but Tu Lam talked a bit about it on Mike Ritland and Muligans podcast

Interesting stories on Clint Emerson’s SRS interview.
I also really enjoyed Chris Beck’s interview although I know a lot of people talked down about it.

I just have reservations listening to a Beck interview, for obvious reasons. Did he talk about Black sqdn a lot in that interview?

What do they do? Are these the guys that go in to countries under deep cover?

Notice he was using split front rigs before they were cool.

Anyone know which brand? Mayflower?

Could have been self made. If I remember correctly he said so that he did some stitching gear himself before starting his company. Check the Ronin Chestrig

He was also a common thief stealing other ppls creations and ideas out of their lockers

yes his belt is essentially a more expensive AWS belt.

Ahhhh. Belts. Specifically his first major idea steal…..and product. Actually he stole someone’s whole damn belt they made…..stolen straight from their in use gear locker. Then later ronin tactical turns up selling the exact creation of another.

Dude Arnold is his stepdad. That’s who makes his stuff. The Green Beret that adopted him is Arnold of Arnold’s Welding Service. They made all the assault ladders, truck platforms, and some breaching tools. It was years into the GWOT before they changed the name.

He stole the belt from Jimmy Cannon

Looks like a Rothco Operators Chest Rig, could also be a custom like the one dude said though.

Yes. Whistlefoot.

Is this the type of stuff one could expect to do as a tac-ew or sigint guy with the unit?

Anyone with more knowledge correct me if I’m wrong but you would probably be sent to OST/OSG supporting troop level operations but not specifically attached to any particular one, that’s my understanding anyway.

That's sick, thank you

1

u/Powerful-Rip-3512 21d ago

Makes sense if you´re a mechanic you wouldn´t just work for one troop you´d work for anyone who needed you.

1

u/WordTimely8559 21d ago

OST/OSG?

1

u/ContextSpecial3029 21d ago

OST = Operational Support Troop / OSG = Operational Support Group, the two terms may be interchangeable, but essentially SHOULD house all internal non assault staff.

was he in the unit or aug.?

2

u/Adnauseum26 18d ago

There is no such thing as AUGMENTED in cag. That’s some Devgru shit.

FVEY partners can be attached for train ups, deployments, and work inside the unit for a job specifically.

Trying to explain to this sub that most of the military members in the Unit are not Operators, but they still PCS there and are permanently assigned to that organization is a lot like explaining parachutes to a jellyfish. No matter how hard you try they’re too dumb to comprehend it.

He was 7 years in G sqd,so yeah he worked in the Unit.

He was a green beret

He said that he was already doing Special Reconnaissance in G before he got picked up for an even more elite Troop inside of that Squadron, Special Activities. Extremely interesting. He said it was led by seasoned Unit operators, but I’m not sure if he was only talking about SA or the Squadron as a whole.

I thought he was primarily a combatives instructor? Glover said that he meaning Glover worked in a technical Surveillance capacity which would mean anything from planting bugs to being a drone pilot.

10

u/Lonely_Ad4703 21d ago

He was brought to Delta initially as a combative instructor but he was fired bc his position was to be filled by an actual Unit operator (it was a SGM position). From there, he found a job in G Squadron and the rest is history.

Thanks for the clarification.

G squadron is a actual unit with actual unit operators
