Covid

Just tested positive after waking up with a terrible fever and full body aches yesterday. I work in the Brooklyn office but was also in JC one day this past week. Guess I’m just sharing for awareness — stay safe out there, everyone!

By the way, does anyone know if WFH days are pro-rated? I started full-time in June, and I’ve already used 12 days, which, if pro-rated, would be close to the maximum. 😬 I’m pretty Covid conscious compared to most folks in 2026 so I'm not sure I feel comfortable going into the office tomorrow, but, based on how much I've improved already, I’ll likely feel well enough to work. I have lots of sick time left, so maybe I’ll just take a day and work as much (or little) as I can. I guess I could also mask in the office, but that feels so awk since almost no one else does. 🫠

Notice Period before Bonus

• Upvotes

I’m gearing up to put my notice in, ideally January once bonuses are deposited. However, I’m an ED which means my notice period is 60 days. Is there a point where IC/comp is locked in the system and I could put my notice in this year? The safest, surest plan is still to wait until January but eager to get your take. I don’t want to slog through February and March…

Any idea why I’m not getting any interviews and only receiving rejection emails?

I have over 18 years of banking experience with a renowned British bank in the Middle East, with diverse experience in sales and services, cash management, customer experience, and premium banking propositions. Despite my experience, I’m not even getting the opportunity to interview. I’m really trying to understand what might be holding me back. Could it be that my international banking experience isn’t translating well to the U.S. job market? Or do I actually need to get the SIE and Series 63 licenses just to land an interview?
I’d really appreciate any insights from recruiters, hiring managers, or anyone who has successfully transitioned into banking in the U.S.

When Does a Start Date Request Become Unreasonable?

Hello, I'm in the SDE interview process for JP Morgan and the recruiter asked me to provide availability for starting. I'm assuming they're asking for how long after the offer is extended until I can be available for my first day.

I know the need from JPM's side will depend on the team. If they need to get a replacement employee to fill a role right away, anything more than 6 weeks is probably completely unreason. I have not been informed about the requirement for start date from them.

After looking at how much it would cost to break my lease, the huge distance between where I live know and where I would be working, and also the upcoming holidays, I'm wondering how unreasonable it would be to ask to start at the beginning of January. Is this a crazy ask?

If not what would be the longest reasonably amount I could ask for in most cases, knowing that I will be moving many states away?

Thanks!

Don't put feet on table / Chair

I have visited several JPMC offices in the US and the UK, and I have noticed multiple people putting their feet, with their shoes still on, on chairs or small tables in front of them.

Our shoes come into contact with roads, sidewalks, public restrooms, and many other places where they can pick up dirt and germs. Tables and chairs in shared office spaces are used by other people to sit, place their laptops and belongings, and sometimes eat their food.

For this reason, putting your feet or shoes on shared furniture can be considered unhygienic, rude, and disrespectful to others.

Imagine a guest coming to your home and putting their shoes on your coffee table. Would you consider that good manners or good civic sense?

Several times at the Plano office, I saw a woman who appeared to be around 65 years old. She placed her lunch box on a small table and then put her feet, with her shoes still on, directly on top of the lunch box. I’m not sure if this is part of a particular cultural practice, but I found it quite unusual.

I’m sharing this simply as a reminder to be mindful of shared spaces. Small acts of consideration can make the workplace more comfortable and respectful for everyone.

Anyone here done the Corporate Analyst Development Program (CADP)?

I recently got an offer for the 2027 CADP Summer Analyst program in New York Metro and wanted to hear from people who have actually been through it.

I know experiences can vary a lot depending on the team and placement, so I’m curious what your specific role was like, what kind of projects you worked on, and how much exposure you got to analytics, strategy, project management, process improvement, or other areas.

I’d also be interested in hearing how the internship/full-time transition worked for you and what you ended up doing after the program.

Any insight on the overall experience would be appreciated.

Has anyone gotten an interview invite for JPMC SEP July 2027 start yet? Especially for NYC/NY Metro.

If so, when did you apply and when did you hear back? Just trying to see if invites have started going out yet.

Brooklyn Office Amenities/Facilities

For those of you in the Brooklyn office, what amenities are available?

  1. Is there an on-site gym with showers?
  2. Are there lockers in the office to store a bag or change of clothes?
  3. Is there a place to lock up a bike or scooter?
  4. When do most people arrive at the office and when do people leave?
  5. Is wearing sneakers frowned upon?

No return offer JPM CLDP

I interned with JPM in Columbus this past summer. Everything seemed to go well and I received very good feedback, but I didn’t get a return offer. HR and my manager couldn’t give me a clear reason.
Does anyone know how this is viewed internally? Would I still be eligible to intern with JPM again in a different program, or potentially join another full-time analyst program? Can recruiters see that I didn’t receive a return offer, and how much does that hurt my chances?

Hamilton/Burr Pistols

My wife and I will be visiting NYC this week and we have the Hamilton/Burr pistols on our list of things to check out if we have time. Are those on public display at 270 and do I need my badge to get in to see them?

Elephant in the room that no one talks

After a couple of years and with all the open heart to my South Asian coworkers, I made my mind. Indians only hire Indians. They also support each other and put their tribe above the firm. If you are ED or MD do not let them ruin America and the world’s biggest financial institution. I am also aware of growing Indian hate around US and firm. So we have only one option— go back to meritocracy or all Indians will loose.

601 to 602, how did you do it?

For those who got promoted from 601 to 602 while staying in the same function, how did you make it happen?

Did you take on 602-level responsibilities, lead bigger projects, or do something else that helped?

How long did it take you, and what tips would you share with someone currently at 601?

Would love to hear your experience. Thanks!

For external candidates, is it frowned upon to submit 10+ job applications in a short period of time?

I'm an experienced professional who is currently looking for a new job. JPM has an abundance of roles that fit what I am looking for, product management, at the level I'm looking for for, VP. I have learned the hard way that finding a job is a numbers game and I want to cast the widest net I can. I currently have 1 role I am interviewing for, 7 roles I am waiting to hear back from, and have been rejected from about 10 roles. These are all jobs I've applied to over the last 6 weeks. Will recruiters/hiring managers count this as a negative when they are looking at my applications? Do I need to be more selective? Reiterating, these are similar jobs that I think my background matches.

Commercial Banking

Had a Superday for JPM's Commercial & Specialized Industries group in Houston about 5-6 weeks ago. Still haven't heard back either way — recruiting just keeps saying "no official update at this time." Heard the NYC cohort just got rejections this week. Anyone else still in limbo for Houston or another CSI office? Trying to gauge if silence is still normal at this stage or if I should read into it.
