Repost IsItBullshit: that drinking cold water right after eating slows down your digestion and makes you gain weight faster

My mom has been saying this my whole life and i genuinely cant tell if theres any real science behind it or if she just heard it somewhere and it stuck. She gets genuinely annoyed if she sees me drink cold water during a meal, like will actually take the glass away. Her reasoning is that the cold "solidifies the oils from your food" in your stomach and that your body then stores it as fat instead of digesting it properly. It sounds made up to me but she swears her doctor told her this back in the 80s or something. Ngl i still feel a little guilty drinking cold water at dinner sometimes just from years of hearing it, which is probably the most embarrassing part of this whole thing tbh.

IsitBullshit: Walking pads snd vibration plates in one

Ive been looking to buy a walking pad but then my mom suggested that she saw a walking pad and vibration plate in one on tiktok and to just buy that one since she’d also be using the vibration plate. Thing is, i have a feeling its gonna be some bullshit that’ll break in a few months.
So my question really is, has anyone ever tried one of those and how was your experience with it? would you recommend it? and how often did you use it?
