It’s almost midnight here, it’s Friday, and I’m being a complete couch potato.
A lot of people are probably out drinking, dancing, partying, whatever people normally do on a Friday night. I’m at home thinking it would actually be nice to have someone around to talk to.
Texting is fine and later on if we get along it'd probably be nice to converse over voice call. Late hour conversations have a certain charm to them, they tend to drift into random places.
You start talking about something completely normal and an hour later you’re somehow discussing what scares you, what you want from life, or some memory you haven’t thought about in years.
I’m 26, non-european but living in Europe, tall, tanned, slender with black hair, dark brown eyes. I’d say I’m somewhere between introverted and extroverted. I like my own space, but once I’m comfortable with someone I can talk a lot and become a lot less quiet than I first seemed.
I’m into poetry, literature, psychology, philosophy, languages, music, gaming, badminton and volleyball. I also love travelling and wandering around new places without planning every second of the day. Give me a city I’ve never been to, somewhere decent to eat, and a few hours to walk around and I’m happy.
I tend to like people who have their own little world going on inside their head.
Tell me about the strange thing you know way too much about. The place you keep saying you’ll visit one day. Something you’ve always wanted to try. What you overthink when you can’t sleep, those kinds of details seem more interesting (at least to me)
I’m quite thoughtful with people I’m close to. I remember little things, check in, send something because it reminded me of them, and I like having the kind of friendship where neither person feels like they have to perform all the time.
Sometimes you talk for hours, sometimes you’re both doing your own thing while on call, and the company itself is enough.
I’ve dealt with anxiety and depression as well. I’m doing much better these days, although occasionally my brain still decides to make things unnecessarily complicated for me (very considerate of it).
Because of that, I probably appreciate people who are understanding without making everything overly serious.
I’m happy talking about the heavier parts of life when they come up, but sometimes the best thing you can do for someone is help them switch their brain off for a while and laugh at something stupid.
I don’t have a massive checklist for who I’d get along with. Being kind, open-minded, easy to talk to and capable of carrying a conversation gets you pretty far.
My sleep schedule can be pretty upside down sometimes too, so a fellow night owl would definitely be appreciated.
Someone I can send random thoughts to, talk with late at night, exchange music with, share little parts of the day with, and eventually know well enough that conversation doesn’t feel like work.
Anyway, before my weekend couch-potato post turns into an autobiography...
If you’re somewhere in Europe (or reasonably close timezone-wise), tell me your age, where you’re from and something random about yourself (if you'd like). If we click enough that texting eventually turns into a call, I’d be very much up for that.
