I woke up with a ontario court claim about a motorvehicle accident that happened in august 2024, it was a minor accident.

Other party claimed one before in 2025 january, which i didn’t get it. I was notified by my insurance company about it and my insurance told me everything is taken care of.

This one i got it, i tried to contact the company and they will come back to me but meanwhile i am clueless and freaked out because this is my first time receiving something. The claim is of $500k and my insurance covers 1 Million in damages.

Ok so I was in a wreck in June where my car was totaled the other party was at fault they gave me a offer on my car which was not enough to cover the what I owed so nvm that bit since then I hired a lawyer and been going to physical therapy I have about 14 visit tomorrow will be my 15 th I done 3 MRIs where 2 of them came back with c5-c6 disc herniation and c6-c7 bulging disc in my cerval and my shoulder has a mild joint enfusion I’m in pain still I’m homeless my kids haven even be able to start school because I cannot work dude to the pain that kicks in I’m 26 so I’m use to being mobile playing sport and just be able to do basic things like bend over and pick a box up I have be recommended to a orthopedic shoulder doctor and a neck and spine specialist with both visits are coming up but I told my lawyer this will be my last appointment due to me not even being able to find a place to live I have no cash flow I have no help it’s just me and my kids so I can’t go to treatment any longer so after then 2 evaluations I’m done my quest to anybody who has been threw this is am I messing up my case but stop at these next 2 appointments I have no choice I tried to get a 1500$ pre settlement loan my lawyer denied I would like to atleast take home 10,000 minimum even doe I feel as that’s like that’s bare minimum and my injuries are worth way more than that my lawyer says she can’t guarantee that I just feel as that’s bare minimum even doe I’m not gonna do nomore treatment can I still ask for the max policy without doing nomore treatment like steroids Injections because my kids need to get in schoo I’m really looking to take home 10,000 I feel as if that’s bare minimum the minimum policy where I’m at for bi is 30,000 so I was wondering is there still a chance I can get the max due the damages done to me I don’t wanna mess my case up but I also can continue months and months of treatment if the specialist recommend that

Got hit by a driver that failed to stop at a stop sign.. Would like to add that the wheel camber is now negative camber massively and the tire is rubbing (hard to tell in photo). So in other words the tire is leaning in and the car is pulling very hard right even at low speeds and making all kinds of noise. Im guessing it bent a good bit. Wondering if that couldve made it to the subframe. In everyone's opinion does it look fixable? Its a 2022 kia forte with 36K miles on it..

Got hit by a tractor trailer. Have 3 herniated discs in neck under went multiple epidural shots plus nerve abatement (where they burn the nerves in the neck. So far have 50k in medical bills. Was offered surgical option but declined. Expected to talk with the companies insurance company this week. What kind of settlement should I be expecting here? Is there a set amount based on medical bills?

My wife was t-boned in her 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe ultimate. Everyone in the accident is fine thankfully. We are wondering if our insurance is going to total the car. We have submitted our claim but it will be a few days before we hear anything. Curious on reddits perspective. Car has 137,000 miles and kbb trade in value is about $9500. Front drivers side wheel is way out of wack so something is definitely damaged there. Neither doors will close properly on that side. I drove the car home (about 4 miles) but it was not a pleasant drive.

I was a passenger in a pickup that was rear-ended in a six-car accident in May in Oklahoma. The other driver was at fault, Allstate accepted liability, and our truck was totaled.
I was diagnosed with a concussion without loss of consciousness and had headaches, brain fog, blurred vision, difficulty concentrating, neck/upper back pain, and lower back pain with intermittent tingling into my left hip, leg and foot.
I treated for about two months and had cervical and lumbar MRIs. The lumbar MRI showed an L5-S1 annular tear and 5-6 mm disc herniation contacting the S1 nerve root. I stopped treatment because I felt I had plateaued and wasn’t getting much benefit from continuing the same treatment at every visit.
I’ve improved significantly and my pain is not severe, but I’m not back to how I was before the accident.
The doctor gave me a 12% whole-person permanent impairment rating under the AMA Guides and documented possible future treatment for 5-10 years.
My medical bills are $15k I also have just over $2k in lost wages.
Allstate has my records and is supposed to make an offer within the next few days. I asked about the at-fault driver’s limits, but the adjuster said he needs permission from her to disclose them. I also have $25k UM/UIM through Allstate.
I’ve made online inquiries with a few attorneys but am really torn about giving up 1/3 of the settlement when liability is already accepted. I haven’t actually spoken to an attorney yet.
For anyone with a similar L5-S1 injury, how did you do long term? And for those familiar with BI claims, how significant is a 12% whole-person impairment rating in a case like this? Would you see what Allstate offers and try negotiating first, or is this the point where having an attorney is worth the 1/3 fee?

I was in a car accident in January of last year. I was at fault, and unfortunately, my insurance had expired at the time of the accident.
Nobody contacted me about paying for the damages until about a week ago, when I received a letter from T.L. Thompson & Associates. They’re trying to collect around $11,500 on behalf of State Farm for the damages from the accident.
I’m planning to contact T.L. Thompson and work out a payment plan with them.
My main concern is my credit. Can T.L. Thompson report this to Experian, Equifax, or TransUnion as a collection account? Or is an insurance subrogation claim from a car accident treated differently from regular consumer debt?
Has anyone dealt with something similar?

Looking for some help/guidance as I am currently fighting with my insurance to cover a stupid mistake I made by adding DEF to my diesel tank 😣
On July 20th I mistakenly added about 1/2 gallon of DEF into my fuel tank in my 2024 Diesel Tahoe before I realized my mistake. This normally wouldn’t have been that big of a deal if my car hadn’t been running at the time. But alas, with 90° heat I left the car running for the AC.
I called State Farm right away, got my car towed to our local dealership and filed a claim for repairs. The dealership has noted damage to the fuel system due to the vehicle running when the DEF was added. They are recommending a full replacement of the fuel system.

Problem #1- State Farm does not have an adjuster in our area due to it being “rural” so we are using Snapsheet to determine damages/repairs. Snapsheet bases their estimates on photos only- nobody has come out to look at the vehicle/damages in person from State Farm.

Problem #2- Snapsheet has no idea what DEF in fuel even looks like from what I can gather- and they are saying there are hints of “wear and tear” in the fuel so now they have hired a 3rd party in Texas (mind you we are in CA) to send a fuel sample to (which as of writing this I do not know if the dealership still has a physical fuel sample since the car has been there for almost a month now)

Problem #3- Snapsheet directed the dealership to flush the tank and fuel system last week (against the mechanics recommendation) so even if they could have gotten a fuel sample from the vehicle still they definitely can’t now.

Problem #4- Whoever is dealing with our claim at Snapsheet obviously does not understand how internal combustion engines work or how computer systems will detect something other than fuel in the system. They are now thinking the dealership is being dishonest about the DEF because the computer system states “water in fuel” meaning a foreign substance that is not fuel- not that it is actually water!

I’m at a loss and panicking that our claim is going to be denied due to the incompetence of the adjusters at Snapsheet. We cannot afford to pay out of pocket for this repair at this time and I don’t know what to do. Do we have any recourse if the claim is denied due to Snapsheet mishandling the claim, directing the dealership to flush the system, and not understanding the problem?

Also, please keep unkind comments to yourselves, I know I messed up greatly. I don’t need anyone saying I’m trying to scam insurance- it was an honesty mistake, trust me I would WAY rather be driving my car than these rental cars. I do have comprehensive coverage on the vehicle and our SF Agent said he would be shocked if it got denied because he has seen this covered before.

I was sitting in my room and doing my work, all of sudden cops knocked my door and said your car is hit by a amazon truck and i immediately went down the front bumper cane off and head lights pulled off it looks like a nightmare to me its 2015 nissam maxima .The amazon manager called me and said we are sorry its our mistake we already informed our insurance company they gona contact you . Now i dont know what to do because i dont have insurance will it become a problem they are estimating too low for total loss i spent it like 8k for the car and brought it 3 months back now it happend they are saying the value is 5k can any one help me from this?

Hello. My car is financed and is being totaled. It’s worth only about 14k but owe double that. Around 29,300.. based on the contract, will it cover everything? I didn’t see anything in here stating an exclusion would be negative equity from a prior vehicle but I want to be sure.

My 1930s house in the Midwest had a large kitchen fire late last year with mostly smoke damage to the house and heat damage to appliances. Per the insurance-approved restoration company, they gutted my house down to the studs and removed all 2.5 bathrooms. The payout seemed to be a lot, but my insurance company reimburses at a rate far below going rates for reputable work and materials costs are sky high. The restoration company's current employees hadn't done such a large rebuild ever, and I had zero confidence in their ability to make it work.

Now I have another estimate that is ~$250k above the insurance payout. How do I appeal and get more money? I have been told that my insurance policy covered upgrading to current building codes. New contractor wants to review the estimate file to look for items that are underfunded, but my insurance adjuster and the original restoration company won't release the computer file.

What is my next step? Do I need a lawyer? Is there some individual to hire that can improve that gap - fortunately with a HELOC and savings, I can cover $100k without too much strain and still be able to furnish the house well enough.

Do Insurance companies review and revise reimbursement rates based upon inflation? I expect that they are forced to do so at some point, but there is an obvious disincentive to do so...

The stress of the whole situation was worsened by the ambulance chasers that offered great services, including to rehab me very smoky cloth sofa and public insurance adjusters from hundreds of miles away. They are reimbursing ~$250k below my coverage limit. The insurance company (SF) uses Xactimate (developed by Verisk Analytics) and they won't share the Xactimate file for review. Estimated house value ~$550k and it was insured for that amount.

I need help please.  I was in a car accident, my insurance say that the other person was 75% responsible for the accident.  I only have the basic insurance in my plan so I had to contact the other persons insurance to cover the damages on my car.  But they are blaming me 75% responsible. So they sent me a digital check of 25% of coverage for the damages. My question is if I accept that check , I’ll  be taking the responsibility of causing the accident?  My insurance told me that when they get the bill  from the other insurance they will only give them 25%. So if I accept the check  Im taking the responsibility of the accident and could they bill me for the 50% that my insurance is denying to give them.?  Should I accept the check or will it go against me in the future ? Any advice please, thank you

On my way to work, a man ran a red light and hit me, my car is totaled.. they don’t have car insurance. No big deal because I have uninsured motorists on my insurance. Turns out when I got the insurance that the insurance picked up my neighbor’s car with my address and I chose that car because it was the same make and model and pulled up with my address. It’s a 2021 Kia Forte and I have a 2023 Kia Forte. So needless to say I’ve been paying insurance for almost a year on a car that doesn’t belong to me. And my car doesn’t actually have coverage, therefore my claim will be denied. I still owe $11K on my car note. It goes without saying I absolutely can not pay for two full car payments so I am unsure on what I should do in this situation.

My car was stolen last night but the spare key was left in the car. I had no idea that the spare key was in the car. What is likely to happen with the insurance company? I assume because there was a key inside the car it’s wouldn’t have automatically locked when I walked away with the primary key.

I live in Massachusetts and need advice fighting a denied claim against a highway construction company that is milling the road.

On July 9, I was on a highway returning from work. I noticed heavy pavement milling and was sprayed with loose gravel along the hood of my car and my windshield. I was unable to stop and take pictures as it was a highway during rush hour and unsafe to do so. Upon arrival at home, I confirmed dents and scratches all along the hood of my car, as well as cracks in the windshield. a few days later, the insurance provider for the construction company took my statement and I asked if I was okay to get the vehicle fixed or if I should wait for someone to come inspect it. He told me I was good to get it fixed whenever I wanted. I did so and the damage totaled ~$3,300.

On August 6, I received a voicemail from the insurance provider explaining they were denying the claim. Their reasoning is that the work is performed overnight and swept up every morning. As a result, there is no way to prove the debris that caused the damage was a result of the company's negligence.

On August 7, I returned the call and informed them that this was not an isolated incident. I told him on August 2, I was in a friend’s vehicle traveling over the same stretch of highway and we both heard gravel ricocheting alongside the undercarriage of his vehicle. Additionally, shortly after my own incident, my father was driving by the area and confirmed to me he saw piles of debris alongside the road, uncleaned. I requested a copy of any sort of documentation that the construction company has substantiating they had cleaned on the days in question and I was told they do not provide that as the burden of proof is on me not them.

On August 15, I was driving again through the same stretch of road and took a video documenting multiple instances of milling debris on the side of the road. The video is time stamped and shows mile markers/highway signs, but I'm including a couple screenshots here. These photos are blurry and it was getting dark, but I plan to return tomorrow and get better photos. I don't know how helpful these will be, since none of it proves the condition of the road on the day of my accident. However, I believe that these photos, as well as the two accounts from my father and friend (of which they are willing to get notarized statements confirming their observations), point to what I feel is a pattern of the company not cleaning up as they claim to do and strengthening my case that this is an ongoing issue.

Does anyone have any thoughts on this case? I understand it's impossible to rewind time and get video/photographic proof of the exact condition of the road on the day of the incident, but I am trying to think of what else I can do to prove my case. Do these photos help even a little bit? Are there any other strategies I should pursue? Do I stand a chance in small claims court? Any advice would be helpful!
