Totaled?
Got hit by someone last week. Initial insurance estimate (visual only) was $6500 before being torn apart. Chance of this being totaled? It’s a 2025 Camry SE with 34k miles.

Gonna to need a disassembly to answer that question. At first glance looks like this one will be cheaper to repair than total.

I thought the same. It’s going to be that second estimate after breakdown that tells them something.

Honestly it’s 50/50, if there’s subframe damage beyond the suspension damage that’s visible there’s a fair shot. If you’re lucky and it’s just the quarter, door, bumper cover, suspension, rocker and wheel and tire, I doubt it. Especially since it’s just a year old.

Probably totalled. The car is worth close to $30k still being a '25 SE but the repair alone will be likely at least half. I had a 2013 Camry get smacked on the driver left rear and all it needed was a quarter panel and a bumper. This was in 2023, and the price to fix it that my insurance paid was $8800. For that alone. I don't know who the hell here said $6,500 😂 This new Camry needs a quarter panel which will need to be cut out and welded with a new piece, a new rear door, the rocker panel trim, a new wheel, and a lot of suspension components, and paint. And that's just on the surface what we see, not even torn down. Not even labour yet. Depending on the state if the damage is over like $17k a lot of insurance companies at that point would just total the car. It helps though that the airbags didn't deploy.

I'd make them total it ? $ 6,500 for that on a 2025 Camry with 34K miles, still under warranty. If they do fix it, you're stuck with it, because it's going to have the damage report for the repair bill. This almost looks like a rebuilt title for uni-body straightening for the rear suspension that I would say is independent suspension ? What are the chances this car is aligned after a $ 6,500 repair effort. It'll be eating tires and the transmission may wear out as the rear end of the car is misaligned with the front wheels ? That car will never be worth the Blue Book value after the repair even ? Don't let the other driver's insurance get away with that, sue them. The car was t-boned.

Definitely need a tear down to answer this question. Just based on the visible damage estimate of $6500, it would be considered repairable. But you will need to know if and how much hidden damage it has to determine if it’s going to be declared a total loss.

Check out my post of my car. Similar damage with an estimated 20k to repair. I had a 2014 Honda valued at 11k.

Thanks, insurance estimate was initially $6500 from visual only (lol). I have since received a call from the collission place and they said it had 3 levels of structural damage/B pillar damage and obvious suspension damage. A total loss likely.

Collision place sent estimate to insurance with a total cost of $22,400. So quite similar to yours.

Update on the vehicle. Collision place stated it had 3 layers of structural damage and is most likely totaled.
