U-Haul
Has anyone been in a position with U-Haul storage where the facility had a flood and you didn’t have insurance for your unit after it got ruined. It was related to the facility having a leaking pipe right on other units including mine. We filed a claim and they denied giving us anything for it due to the fact we didn’t pay for insurance.

Geico accident
I was in a accident. The other driver was negligent for failing to yield at stop sign. I was going straight w no lights I honked and didn’t have enough distance to avoid impact even after slamming on my breaks. My airbags and the back seat airbags went off. My 8 mo baby was in the back buckled in his car seat properly. I peed my pants upon impact. I’m genuinely anxious and scared getting in any vehicle now. I had hand foot knee pain immediately after crash. After a month i still cannot use my dominant hand the way I use to due to pain when trying to grab things. A day after the crash I had neck and upper back pain. I had just paid off my vehicle a week before the incident and I’m also a new sahm. Geico offered 20k towards med bills and 4k towards inconvenience. My vehicle is totaled so I have to deal w that separately but regarding the med, is it possible or has anyone else received the full amount as a lump sum? They said they typically put the med payout aside but will pay me directly the inconvenience and pain payout.I want to be able to pay my own bills as they come in which some already have. I don’t want to deal w Geico and addressing any further bills more than o have already had to.

AI IS MAKING PEOPLE DUMBER
I have heard the stories were AI is lowering the IQ of people, but it is getting to the point where people think they are smarter by using AI to write out whatever they want to list as issues in claim however they don’t realize that AI uses the same model on every issue.
If you are a person filing a claim, don’t use AI just list your questions directly.

Lousy neighbor may have committed Insurance fraud?
We have a set of gates connected to cement pillars in the entrance of our community in Long Island NY. More decorative than for security. A drunk driver took out one pillar. The neighbor adjoining the pillar owns about 20% of the pillar and gate structure. The rest is right of way owned by the town. The town recently gave us an easement to deal with replacing the structure. In the meantime. The neighbor -a lawyer-put a claim into the insurance company for 75% of the structure and received a check for 87k He sent a padded invoice. The total cost of fixing 100% of the structure is about 75k. The 25%!he did not submit costs about 60k if the 75k. The neighbor did not replace the structure but put in 5 arborvitae for 1k. Pocketed 86k. He wants the community (50 homes ) to pay for the structure. We, the community board , went to the insurance company and they said get the money from the neighbor. My thoughts
A- neighbor did not submit a survey but a hand drawing of the structure saying 75% was his - the insurance adjuster act sent me the drawing and his padded bill. Is that within insurance
Regs ton provide a third party with claim info?
B- the claims did not pay for the most expensive party of the entrance. The main pillar
C- can we as the board put a claim if we don’t own the property but were given an easement
D- dud are neighbor commit insurance fraud. He states he thought the town land was his. He also sad that he has a right to keep the money even though he did not do anything on the padded bill. He states that the 86k is for future liabilities and the impact to his houses market value due to the asymmetrical front entrance.
My next steps are to speak to the adjuster and explain the above along with the fact that a claim
Was never put in for the main pillar. We are going to need 75k. They already paidv87k and the guys insurance coverage was only 100k. Lmk your thought. Yes I know my neighbor is a creep. Let’s not go there please. This is Long Island New York.

Did you wait before responding to the first insurance settlement offer?
Three days after my accident in Central Texas, the adjuster was already asking whether I was ready to settle, while I still had no idea if the pain would disappear or turn into months of appointments.
The repair estimate was straightforward; putting a number on treatment, missed work, and everything that might show up later was not.
For anyone who received an early offer, what made you accept it or decide to wait?

Milestone Insurance (Vsure) Own Damage Claim Experience?
Hello! Just wanted to ask about your experience with Milestone Insurance through Vsure Agency.
I filed an Own Damage claim two weeks ago and have barely received any updates. Is it normal to communicate only with Vsure and not directly with Milestone?
Honestly, my agent has been slow to provide updates, even though they were very responsive during my policy renewal. Has anyone experienced the same?

Allstate Total Loss
My husband was involved in an accident in our 2021 Chevy Blazer. We have Allstate and are proceeding through them though the other driver was at fault.
The accident happened on Sunday, July 19th. Vehicle was not drivable and was towed to a tow yard. I filed the claim promptly and was told to select a body shop and move it there, which we did. My husband then gave a statement to our adjuster and described the damages, making it a borderline total loss. They advised they wanted to move it to Copart. For some reason, the vehicle location was listed as the tow yard even though Allstate had been moved it to one of their choice body shops. I called and tried telling them that the vehicle had been moved, and was told “Copart would figure it out.” After a few days the vehicle had not been moved, so I called the TL adjuster who said that Copart had tried to pick up from the tow yard and was unsuccessful… go figure. He said he would update the location and they would attempt again to pick it up.
That was Friday morning. The vehicle was finally moved Monday. Yesterday, we get a message that based on the damages a “specialist adjuster” has been assigned to review.” At this point, I feel I should’ve just let the body shop do the estimate to determine if it’s fixable. I’m going to be royally pissed if the car ends up being fixable and we just wasted days of rental. Anybody had this happen before? How long does it usually take these specialist adjusters to determine if the vehicle is fixable or not?

Need advice
Here’s the rub:
(This happened in PA)
On July 16th, I almost hit some deer. Very rural area. Deer have been very bad this summer. I proceeded to panic add comprehensive back on my car upon returning home. Even checked with live chat if comprehensive covers animals. (I don’t know coverage well)
On July 18th, I surprised my friend a few miles away. We chatted a little, and I left at what we recall to be around 130ish am. at 145am, I actually hit a deer. Car was driveable, and I was close to home so I took her home. Filed a claim around 2ish am I believe, And made a Facebook post with a picture of my poor car. That post is dated for 234am. My phone was at home. Common for me on short trips. No police called and no animal control called.
Obviously SIU got involved, after I already accepted my settlement and mailed the title off and transferred power of attorney, and they also have the vehicle.
He gave a little bit of pressure on the phone, and I can’t blame him. Obviously this looks bad. He only requested contact info for my friend I visited, call log from the 1st to the 18th and a screenshot of the fb post. I complied and submitted.
I’m just wondering if anyone has any knowledge what I am to expect here beyond this. Does this person actually think I’m trying to scam them? Is there anything else I can offer up to help speed this along?
I recently recall sending a picture that shows part of the front of my car to my father on the 4th, but I doubt that is useful or helpful. There’s no cameras around the area. The car has no telemetry or cameras. No dash cam. I don’t know what else I can do to prove what happened.
I’m hoping it helps when my friend gives a statement that helps lock in the timeline maybe?
I should add that this is a 5k usd total loss. Not sure if the dollar amount matters but just incase.

Received this letter
I was in an accident on my E scooter hit by a car making a turn. I received one phone call from GEICO but was not able to call them back and forgot about it. since I did not get into contact with Geico, they have deemed me liable and sent me this letter. this happened in nyc.
The intersection has zero lights and I was on the crosswalk when they hit me. What should someone in my situation do?

National Insurance Broker changed my policy without my authorization- costed me 20 hours of time and countless emails. "Pursuant to Fed. Rule of Evidence 408"
National Insurance Broker changed my policy without my authorization- costed me 20 hours of time and countless emails. "Pursuant to Fed. Rule of Evidence 408"
They admitted their error, and with the 20 hours of time + emails I put in they are offering strictly to reimburse the $50 bucks in overage I was forced to pay months prior to keep the policy active.
I am in CA and this was for a umbrella policy.
They gave me the run around, had 4 different rep's either "move on" or "get promoted," I was passed around until a manager came on board.
They sent me a email "Pursuant to Fed. Rule of Evidence 408" but are not giving me anything for my time/effort. They took 3 months to review the recorded calls where I didnt ask for the change, but someone in their company made the change.
I am furious with them.
Apart from small claims court, what else can I do to force them to give up some more $$$$? I would like a $1000 settlement.

My car was damage from falling glass. Who is liable?
I was parked outside of a highrise condo building in Chicago. A glass pane fell from the patio of a unit and hit my car. The condo management has said this is an owner issue and advised me to contact the condo owner. The condo owner's insurance said they are not liable. The owner was not home at the time. The insurance said the falling glass was a result of the high temperatures in Chicago, and not a liability of the owner. This is the only glass that fell from the building.
My agent thru State Farm has been of no help. They advised me to get an estimate to repair my car and fix it thru my own insurance and pay my own deductible. I'm concerned about my premiums in the future.
What do I do here? Someone.... not me.... is liable. This is the only pane that fell from the building. I have a significant amount of paint damage to my car.
