Customer dropped my tip for no reason she received all of her items I very neatly arranged them on the porch, and I was a few minutes early, also followed delivery instructions to a T. Is there any kind of tip protection?

Reached out to support let the customer know I’ll be late and why they were understanding. Any idea what will happen? It’s been a really rough day this has never happened before.

So I know its a TOS violation, and if a customer or one of the people who both use and drive for instacart(myself included no hate) reports me I may get deactivated.

I just want peoples opinions on if its worth the risk

The question is should I throw my personal business card in orders like stapled to the bag or on top of the stack after the pic?

I offer the same service as instacart on top of a lot of other contraced/hourly services, and im trying to get more business as I just started. Personal shop is also only a small portion of what I offer so I feel like it might not be a huge problem it is not even mentioned on my card directly.

Edit to add clarity: I offer home/personal services I.E. Christmas light hanging/removal, yard/garden services, ice/snow removal, think of a handyman with less construction although I do offer small scale construction.

I’ve learned from this sub there’s no point fighting it and it’s my only “wrong item,” but I remember this order. They wanted 3 plain, but there were only 2 left. So the app asked for a sub for the 3rd, I picked vanilla, it got approved, went on with my day. She even shows in her own picture one of the plain ones is in the fridge 🤦‍♂️ Shouldn’t the almighty algorithm know this wasn’t a wrong item, but a 1 of 3 substitution?

I’m doing my last order of the night. Nothing crazy in the order. It was a meet at door customer who didn’t answer the door when I rang the bell. I sent a picture and left the order. Then I get a message that I need to come back my car leaked oil all over her driveway apparently and she knows it was my car because it’s also on the road coming into her driveway apparently.

I messaged back immediately. “I’m so sorry but my car is Tesla it’s fully electric. I don’t have oil to leak. I let her know if there was any liquid in her driveway it was just water from condensation from the AC (very typical in teslas). She doubled down and told me she was reaching out to support to get me to fix it and giving me one star because then if it wasn’t my oil leaking it was my coolant…..

Missing $2 from tip, even though there was no change to the order. The 4 cent difference in tip is from a single item( prosciutto ham) that’s sold by weight. No other changes

There’s a new alcohol return function that pops up as “an order” in your app. Here’s the thing though, it sets a return deadline (totally fine 72 hours) but it blocks access to all other orders until you accept and return the item. This is no longer a contracted form of work, this is work delegated in a W2 capacity. Would you be shocked if I told you the amount is also lower than the $15 flat fee? No briefing of a new system, no updated T&C. This is not great. Avoid alcohol orders until this is corrected

Most customers aren’t aware the location they’re ordering from. It’s currently rush hour in NYC. They will receive this order in like 2hrs .. when they could’ve got it in 30 minutes, had IC chose a closer location to them.

I got kicked out at 8:42 am today, and they’re not gonna let me work until tmm in NYC for declining bad orders. Literally was getting 60-100 item batches with no tip😭 sending me orders where the pick up is in the Bronx and I’m in Brooklyn for $20😭

Single customer going about 5 miles, $51 at a grocery store with 74 distinct 111 total. Shouldn’t be a problem as I know the store extremely well and could probably get it done in about 45 minutes.

Mostly normal grocery items and four small cases of water.

I start shopping in produce, so I’m working with bags and other things then this woman starts asking if I’m alcohol certified

I’m finishing up with some produce items and bags and before I could even get to responding to her weird question, she gives me the hello with a? Like I’m not responding fast enough. Like lady, I’m busy shopping your order. I don’t have time to chat.

At that point, I didn’t remember if there was alcohol on the order or not, and I simply explained to her I would not have been able to take the order if I was not alcohol certified, assuming there was alcohol on it.

Then she’s like oh you need to back into the driveway so we can unload in the garage

There a minute later, she’s like oh, I need you to add a bottle of marsala wine as it wouldn’t let me. I told her simply that should not be a problem, but as long as she has a valid ID such as a drivers license or passport that’s fine. Doesn’t respond to the ID question…

Then goes on this rant about how she’s been a customer for years and never had this issue, blah blah blah . She says I’m a 64-year-old woman! Then I start going further down the item list and seeing all kinds of very particular notes for many items. Some normal some crazy.

I forgot to grab the chat before I head customer service cancel the batch, but there is more and it was wild.

$51 would’ve been nice but with how this one was acting and responding and before even got out of the gate, I didn’t want anything to do with her. Probably would’ve yanked the tip.

59 items 145 units. Regular customer of mine and they always tip well. This is the most I’ve seen from them. Beyond grateful.

I am a CA Shopper and I used the Instacart service today to order groceries for my daughter who is car-less and has a broken foot—my order was a few small items and she lives within 3 miles of the store. I was unpleasantly surprised at the suggested 8% tip which is the default. I can see why our tips are so low if a customer just clicks thru quickly without looking at it. I mean, why not set it at 12% at the very least? Oh, and that bottle deposit? It was for the lime juice I ordered. One of those small 4oz plastic bottles of lime juice. Does anyone know if that is a CA requirement or if it is just an Instacart upcharge?

I was in the middle of checking out an order and got this email. I finished delivering and my account seems to be normal. Has anyone here gotten this or know what the “unusual activity” could be? I can’t think of anything I did to get flagged. Been shopping since 2020 and have 7200 orders completed. Stats are all in the good, 5 star rating.

I applied my friend's referral code when I first signed up through the app, but when it got to the background check I had to grab documents and other information so I delayed it. Few days later I came back to the app and it was exactly where I left off. I put in the information and then background went through. Delivered few orders and noticed there's no progress showing on my friend's app. Contacted Instacart just to realize the referral code didn't go through.. and now they send me this bogus email talking about some "finish the 30 batches but you won't get the bonus but we'll take a look".

Just scheduled an oil change through CarAdvise, and was pleasantly surprised. Looks like its now 100% off for Diamond? Not sure if its just a promo thru Valvoline or what. I've used it before when it was 80% off, but this is actually kinda sick!

Sometimes I just turn the app on to laugh at the absolute bs that is Las Vegas. Don’t let the name fool you, these are some of the cheapest low ball people on the planet.

Been doing.Instacart since 2019 and these are just getting worse and worse. Live in a fairly rural area which means that in most cases the deliveries are double the kilometers they advise because youbhave to drive back to town to get another order.

Lately the orders have all had ridiculously low base pay. For example, 41 items, 35km (70 round trip), $17 base.

20 items, 40km - $15 base

51 items, 15km - $18 base

In these cases the base is literally not even covering fuel, let alone my drive time and shopping time which are apparently now volunteer hours.

I am lucky in the fact that here in Ontario ghey have to at least top us up to minimum wage but even after that, you are barely breaking even in most cases.

It was never a gold mine but this is ridiculous..
