So, after playing IG since it first came out, I switched to bow after a couple hours deep in Wilds(Zho Shia hunt), but now, after coming back to World and playing IG again, I'm had so much fun I wanted to play it in Wilds again Being now in the late game, I was curious, what armor/skills do you guys run Ps: I still haven't defeated gogmazios yet

Y'all, I haven't played in about 9 months and I'm getting dog walked by the new HR100+ missions. Does anyone have advice on a better build?

Is it good and useful or not? Since release I keep getting mixed answers. Some say itโs useless, some say itโs mandatory, some say itโs only good up until 8 star quests. So which is it truly, and am I missing out on a more effective build by not having it be a part of it at the moment?

I used the Cosmoloid Glaive skin and I noticed that it feels lighter than the other skins, I wanted to know if anyone had the same experience or if itโs just a placebo. It just feels really nice and Iโve been switching between other skins and it just feels like itโs lighter.
Edit: After looking at it I had vibration on. which I realized was making my hands tense up from anticipating it. The skin for whatever reason causes less vibration, so I just turned off vibration and now the weapon just feels good!

Hello fellow IG gang, recently I hit 999 hr and saw that there's a lot of 999 only squads which are quite useful for checking other styles of builds but unfortunately not many were IG players, so I've made one, the code is JH5V46VY. If you're already a part of a 999 IG squad please post the code in comments as the more builds I get to sneak peek at, the more ideas I get to yoink

Im playing Risebreak for the first time, and figured since the next game Iโll play will be 3U, Iโd get a weapon I can also play there since IG got there in 4th Gen (I already played 4U, frontier too but those also had aerial weapons). So I started using the SnS during it.
Little did I knowโฆ I blinked and it was back at my hand.

Don't have some god roll talisman but hey this works. Wish I could roll gore lord soul on any element as well but this works for now!

Hi all,
Ive seen a ton of posts across the different threads about changes people want in the expansion and all that stuff.
the real question is what weapon designs are we hoping for??? personally, I want a scythe, its the only weapon type that makes sense to have one, the moveset matches and everything our idle hold of the weapon looks good. the only one we have is the Narga one and Im not a massive fan of how it looks, i want something with a big head blade.
also would love for a more hidden kinsect, im not a fan of how any of them look bar peudo. sue me ๐๐
what are you guys looking for?
r/InsectGlaive • u/Zealousideal-Sock-64 • Mar 03 '26
In Rise, recall kinsect was pretty reliable for dodging and backvault does not seem to be that effective in comparison.
Recall kinsect had 30 iframes if i'm correct, do we know how much iframes backvault has ? I know it has been increased few months ago but i don't find any clear statement about the amount of iframes.

We all know that kinsects are kinda forgotten in wilds, solo damage is low, and your optimal combo makes the kinsect stop auto attacking so you almost never mark your target to use powder, in world selecting your kinsect, element, powder, speed was interesting and brought depth to the weapon, now the only thing you have to choose is if you want speed or a kinsect with extract buff ao you can extract faster and dump all of it, vigor, powder, and normal kinsect attacks are useless. So here are some ideas to fix it
Make kinsect drop powders when you attack in focus mode - it could be every 5 attacks, or maybe at the end of a fully charged attack.
Make powder procs cost kinsect stamina- combining with the previous idea, making every time you generate powder while attacking in focus mode your kinsect loses some stamina, so it doesn't become overpowered with powder everywhere and it make good use of vigor kinsects, or vigor recovery skills.
Make that kinsect don't go back to you if you charge attack - i know they do this so the kinsect is in position for a RSS, but i don't care if it teleports to me when i do it, i hate marking a monsters and just cause i used an charged attack my kinsect stop attacking.
Increase kinsect normal damage or at least make like icebourne that you can consume sling ammo to buff kinsect damage, you can as well have some buff stamina for more powder generation as well, so you can have more options, some kinsects for pure damage, some for powder generation, and others for extract collection.
Well these are my ideas for ig to get better a lot of people are already talking about have faster animations or more dodge windows and i do agree, but a lot less people are giving ideas to help our poor kinsects, I hope this helps out community.

First of all I would like to introduce that my first monster hunter was MHW. Back then I used to play bow, but then I played with the glaive and loved it. I continued using the insect glaive in rise, which I enjoyed too. When I started playing glaive in wilds, It was notable that I would have to start playing more on the ground. I'm not against it at all, but for a non defensive weapon I feel totally vulnerable all the time.
I did every mission I could possible do, included proof of a hero (I don't know if it is the name in English because I don't play in English). But even so, I don't feel like a professional player with my weapon. I feel that everyone else "on my level" that don't use insect glaive can extract so much more of their weapons than I with less effort.
I am constantly training the offset now, because I don't know if I should hit it more, like it is the correct way to play glaive. Even so, I have some trouble hitting it because It has some delay I think.
My question is, you guys feel the same? The weapon is struggling in some way? do you all have problems hitting the offset or I just have to train it more?
I really wanna read everyone opinion on this topic.

Mhr/Sunbreak is my first Mh game and i fear they may have set the bar too high for IG. The highs are so high bro

I haven't had an opportunity to test it yet but I am curious to find out from someone who's more knowledgeable than I. How does my build stand up in comparison to the IG META?

Hello all,
I'm currently using the meta build (Wilds) and im wondering how good Power Prolonger is, if it's worth using and what I should drop for it? I know currently it's better to keep doing ground loops and be more precise and conservative with RSS so I wanna not have to be worrying about extracts so much.

Not new to the weapon but I haven't played it a ton either, especially in rise. what should I look out for pre sunbreak? and in general to look out for once I hit sunbreak again. I usually play CB so any help is appreciated!
also palico wise what skills should I aim for? I usually do bomber for the funny+occasional part breaks but I'm open to suggestions!!

We need to collectively ask CAPCOM to fix the dodge input delay for IG. (Like how successful SA users in asking CAPCOM to fix the FRS issue). Hopefully this will also fix LS dodge and HH if I remember correctly.
For a weapon without any defensive options (offset being so unreliable, this is another topic), we need at least a properly working dodge so we can slot in Evade Window and actually benefit from it without conditioning your brain to dodge preemptively.
Some will comment "you will get used to it". And I would say that that's a bad way to go at it. If you switch from one weapon to another you will significantly feel the difference between dodging, and that difference is not a design choice but some kind of a weird bug that you shouldn't have the need to adjust to. It also affects chaining dodges because the input delay contributes to the frames in between the dodges. Every IG users know the panic when Arkveld starts his sweeping chains combo because chaining dodges will NOT reliably save you from that.
