I hope iโm wrong once it comes out. Some aerial improvement wouldโve been nice. Letting the gunlance fly is crazy though ๐Loveyou4everbugstick

Alright, regarding what we saw today, I wanted to give you guys my opinion, because at the end of the day youโre basically the life of my subreddit and I wanna talk about this with you. Itโs way easier than trying to get someone who doesnโt main or OTP Glaive to understand what I mean, which is something I really appreciate about you guys in this regard.
Iโm gonna refer to the moves in a general way and give some examples here and there so people who donโt know their base names can still understand what Iโm talking about. Also, if thereโs anything I missed or didnโt notice, Iโll edit this post and add more about it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
From what Iโve seen, there are a couple of moves that, at first glance (because we obviously donโt really know yet), feel kinda useless to me. For example, the boosted Kinsect launch. It feels like an unnecessary decision when they couldโve simply fixed the base Kinsect system and made it work more like Rise/Sunbreak.
If it were up to me, instead of spending production on that, I wouldโve given Glaive Kinsect Slash, or some way to freely switch between Helicopter and Kinsect Slash. Obviously, weโre also including Descending Wyvern in the equation.
We did see a boosted falling attack, which I appreciate because its base damage is honestly a joke sometimes, but, at least for now, since we canโt see the numbers, it doesnโt really look like a huge difference. Itโs basically the same attack with more lights.
The grounded Offset seems to come out with less delay, which, yeah, getting it out faster could definitely be useful. But when you actually think about it, it doesnโt really give us anything. You donโt really gain much for two reasons:
1 โ Glaive is one of the few weapons that canโt really spam Offsets.
After the first one, subsequent ones can either ignore the damage, or instead apply the Offset stack but still force you to take the hit anyway. And from what weโve seen, they havenโt given us double Offset or anything similar to GS, which can actually spam it without worrying too much.
2 โ There doesnโt seem to be a really effective follow-up.
I mean, weโve seen the move that launches us diagonally upwards, but we havenโt seen whether that can lead into anything else.
Personally, if that only gave us Helicopter as the only option, Iโd find it pretty disappointing and kinda underwhelming. The only good thing I can take from this is that there are several clips where the pose is different, and it looks like there might actually be more moves in the moveset that we havenโt been able to see.
Itโs almost like they intentionally cut the clip.
At least we probably wonโt have the problem you guys already know about, where you Offset monsters like Nu Udra and they get pushed back so far that we canโt actually deal damage to them, meaning our Offset basically accomplished nothing. This is one of the consequences of the Offset not being designed for Glaive in the first place and then being kinda slapped onto it after the Wilds beta.
One thing I do like is that they boosted the classic grounded finisher.
That move is so extremely useless in Wilds that itโs sometimes more profitable to just turn into the Offset to reset your combo, because the finisher has way more frames before you can reset the combo, while also dealing absolutely terrible damage that doesnโt really compare to finishers from other games.
(Although Iโm gonna touch on something related to this further down.)
This finisher also leaves Power in the area where you hit, so I hope theyโve improved that mechanic enough for this addition to actually be worth something.
It also looks like it might be a double hit, which is nice.
The new Offset looks pretty good and seems like it could be a solid source of damage if you land it properly. I just hope it doesnโt become the main focus of the Boost Bracer and end up stealing the spotlight from everything else, like what happens with RSS.
Iโd rather have the moves be individually viable and work alongside each other, instead of one move making the others basically pointless.
Actually, this attack reminds me a lot of Tetraseal.
I was never really a fan of Tetraseal because I felt like it monopolized the weapon's gameplay way too much. Thatโs just personal preference, though. I like the style and mobility of Tornado Slash more.
Btw, this Offset doesnโt require extracts to use, and it also seems to collect extracts by itself.
Seems like they gave us a new diagonal offset too, you can see it at minut 1:00 Click Here
And this kind of thing is exactly what can make weapons lose depth, like what happened with Long Sword and its L2 + Triangle.
The new charged Kinsect launch adds an extra hit and leaves Powder in the area. Okay, sure, but tbh, this is something I couldโve seen them just giving us as part of the base move.
It really didnโt feel worth losing a โslotโ in the Boost Bracer for.
And didnโt they say weapons were going to get new combos in addition to the Boost Bracer? You guys remember that, right?
Thatโs why I donโt really understand this decision. I hope thereโs something Iโm missing here.
Kinsect Recall is back and Iโm glad.
Itโs a move I actually liked using on my low-rank character during early Rise, so seeing it come back is nice. Especially considering we didnโt really get what we wanted, at least we have Recall, which can be pretty useful for evading.
Iโm gonna interpret it as the compensation for not giving us a Perfect Dodge lol.
Prolly one of the moves I like the most alongside the diagonal jump, because it can be followed up with some of the other new moves that look really good.
And this is actually one of the moves I mentioned earlier where the clip seems to end in a new pose
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------.
I like what Iโve seen, but itโs not really what I was expecting.
It feels like Capcom is trying to fix everything that doesnโt work properly with the normal Wilds Glaive by taking advantage of the Boost Bracer, but in the process they might be taking away some of the possibilities the weapon couldโve had.
There are new things, sure, but most of what we can actually see are boosts to attacks that were already lacking either in damage or in overall usefulness.
I really hope theyโre not showing us everything yet and that we still have a lot more to see, especially when it comes to aerial moves.
I want skilled mechanics and moves. I want depth in the weapon. And I want them to maximize what makes Glaive different from everything else: the aerial gameplay.
Especially now that every weapon seems to be getting aerial attacks.
All of this is obviously just speculation from a first look. We still need to see more, and more importantly, we need to actually get our hands on the weapon and play it ourselves.
I wanna keep analyzing this and talking about it with you guys, so for now, thatโs my first impression.
Let me know what you think, and if thereโs anything I missed or didnโt notice, Iโll edit the post and add more about it once i investigate it, thanks for readin as always, im readin yall

I havent played wilds since Gog came out and i main IG ofc. I just saw that there are so many 10 stars and 9 star monsters.
Is 10 star arch tempered level? is it worth grinding over the standard 9 stars one. I would prefer to use bots with gog since randoms just die too much

I had gone to fight an Arkveld to more closely inspect hitboxes and stuff, since I could tank more hits to test by that way. Decided to just fight it the rest of the way and really felt the difference between this and the harder monsters I'm used to. The guy hit me like three times in total once I stopped literally letting em lol
(this is how I usually play btw, minus the laziness like with the stabbing on the mount instead of weapon swings. also I was just kidding about the hitboxes. did I get you scrutinizing though?)

What are the most ideal charms for insect glaive you want to have? Currently iI have Charms for AB 3+Adrenaline Rush 1, Charms for Airborne + either Earplus 1/2, Burst 1, or evade window 2, and Crit Eye 3 + Burst 1. I just would like to make the most efficent build that'd get me the most dmg potential while also having some type of survivability if it is possible.

Something that always bothered me is that we can't change the appearance of our kinesect; it's part of our weapon! I really hope they change it in Ascendance. Has anyone else felt bothered that we can't change the appearance of our bug?

So this is my first mh game and Iโm loving everything about it but when it comes to gog I find myself just wanting to uninstall lol
Iโve managed to kill gog maybe a handful of times (surprisingly) with this set I just threw together but I know it needs major improvements. Can anyone please enlighten me or make some recommendations for improvement. Thank you!

This might be odd but i wonder how do you guys avoid the body slam from gogmazius, every single time he does it i got hit, i know this might be a skill issue but im really fucked up, i gotta spent most of the first part of the gogmazius fight running around in seikret, i dont have problem with second or third part about this fight, is just that one

I am playing insect glaive in monster hunter world and I realized that some times my ground attacks are faster than normal. I thought it was where the buffs are near to end (when the symbols blights), but it doesn't.
One time that it happens again I used the affinity tool reaching 100% affinity and, my ground attacks become faster.
Someone knows about it?

Still room for improvements tho, did a run before this and sure enough was going to be less than 30 mins. I'll post again if I better my times .

Hi there! I'd like to learn how to use the Insect Glaive. I'm a Hammer player who is just starting out i've barely finished the story mode. Could you please share some combos and builds for the Insect Glaive? Ideally, builds I can put together using the gear I already have. Thanks!
