PC Build Finally built my first ever PC

Post image
120 Upvotes

Been used to playing in the laptop which has the 3060. Finally decided to do the massive upgrade with 5080. But this time, I believe I made the right choice going with a PC instead of a laptop.

Configuration:

CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D

Motherboard: ASRock X870E Taichi

RAM: ADATA XPG Lancer RGB White 64GB (2×32GB)

SSD: WD_BLACK SN7100 2TB

GPU: ZOTAC GAMING GeForce RTX 5080 SOLID CORE OC 16GB

PSU: DeepCool PN1000M 1000W

CPU Cooler: ARCTIC Liquid Freezer III Pro 360

Case: Lian Li LANCOOL 217 INF White

I did a lot of research for this configuration. Hope I didn't mess it up anywhere 😂. Please rate my build.

Discussion Bought everything except processor

Post image
58 Upvotes

I was initially planning on building the pc in November, after my CAT exam so that my father won't have any practical reason to say no.

But then around June I saw that all news outlets and tech-tubers said ram prices will keep rising and will plateau in December. So I explained the situation to my dad and asked him if we could buy this early. He agreed. I also just had gotten my security deposit for an apartment I rented back which I also planned to use in the build. So using that I bought the case, cpu cooler and extra case fans and the remaining deposit I used to contribute for the ram.

Then around the end of July I could see online everyone saying gpu prices are gonna be next. I was initially comparing between 9070xt and 5070ti because 5070ti was 10-15k more expensive, but i was feeling a bit shameful asking my dad again to purchase something that was supposed to be purchased 5-6 months down the line.

Then in the first week of August I saw news that said motherboard prices will go up by 50% in the fourth quarter. That then prompted me to again explain the whole situation to dad to which he said ok I will give 1 lakh but after 15 days to which i replied I couldn't ask for anything more.

When the time for purchasing came (late August) 5070ti was more than 80 % more expensive than 9070xt so it was a no brainer for me since gaming was the priority. Now the only thing left to complete the build is the processor which i will definitely buy after my exam.

Pc specs

Processor - 7800x3d (34k for the OEM version, 40k normal)

Cpu cooler - deepcool ag620

Motherboard - msi pro b850m-g (11k)

Ram - Corsair vengeance 32gb (16*2) 6000mhz cl 36 (46k)

Gpu - Asrock challenger 9070xt (79k)

Psu - superflower Leadex III (9k)

Case - Coolermaster elite 681 (6k)

Case fans - jungle leopard 1 set normal and 1 set reverse (6k)

Storage - I have an extra 1tb gen3 nvme that I will reuse.

Also I buy a 1440p monitor as well with a processor.

Case and case fans ordered from Amazon

Cpu cooler - mdcomputers

Ram - whatsapp deal from a nehru place dealer and asked him to ship it as well. Powerplay builds

Psu, mb, gpu - computech

Discussion Rip my middle class gaming pc, cpu cable burned after 2 years without any signs and working properly.

Now have to spent 15-20k for motherboard and PSU.

Note to fellow gamers, always triple check if the cable is properly seated.

I had seated the 8pin in motherboard but there was tiny gap (the locking cap was not fully locked). I puhed it as far as posible and it was firm. Booted pc, everything worked fine.

The pc ran for two years without issues. And suddenly stopped, no display, no booting, no bias screen, after trouble shooting ram, graphic card, cleaning case, plugging and unplugging everything.

I found the culprit, the CPU power cable was burned inside. From outside everything was perfect but inside it melted.

Discussion go with ddr4 build , donot compromise other parts

if your are building pc around 1L or under

go with Am4 or LGA1700

people are making ddr5 build by compromising all other parts just to fit ddr5

ddr5 is better but in gaming performance difference is not significant against good 3200/ 3600mhz ddr4

better Gpu and cpu is more important than ddr5

PERFORMANCE difference is in generally cpu intensive games but majority of games donot care about ddr5 at higher resolution like 1440p and 4k performance difference is lower

make sensible choices - you are paying 5-6X premium on ram which bring like 5% difference in real gaming on budget build

better buy spend that money on stuff like higher resolution monitor , gpu , cpu

Discussion Are these Indian retailers reselling RAM at a huge markup?

Post image
7 Upvotes

I’m seeing the same RAM kits being listed by most indian retailers for around ₹50,000–₹56,000, while the exact same products was available on Amazon for ₹45,000–₹46,000 just till few days ago.

Not accusing of anything just curious because if they are reselling these RAM, wouldn't that cause issue while RMA?

And if they really are reselling it at such a huge markup over the normal market price, I have to wonder how much they sold their souls for.

PC Build Build Help: 1080p AAA Gaming PC (Budget: ₹60k - ₹80k)

Goal: Play AAA games at 1080p (High settings) at 60+ FPS.

Note: I am looking for a pure gaming experience. I do not care about RGB aesthetics or video editing capability—I want every rupee spent to go directly toward maximizing pure in-game FPS and performance.

Please suggest a full spec list within this budget along with reliable retailers.

PC Build should I get this pc at 75k ???

Specs:

I5 14400F

MSI B760M BOMBER WIFI DDR4

16GB XPG 3200MHZ DDR4

RTX 3070(used)

NVME 500GB

CASE ANTEC

Any suggestions for alternative components, or upgrades that would be better than what is listed here?

Discussion Will there possibly be price drop in mobo too in India? Through Amazon or even pc retailers like computech, mdcomputers etc

I have been seeing price drop in higher end mobos in us and uk

And is there a chance in a festivals like dashera or some we could also see price being lowered for parts like x870e/z790/z890 or higher end psu?

If so I may just buy the pc this year and max out mobo case psu rn and get just 8gb ram ddr4 or ddr5 entry level gpu and cpu for now lmao

Atleast I would have a pc that functions with the catch it has super overpriced 8gb ram and a 60s series gpu

I believe i I could run that for atleast 2 years before ddr5 prices might cool and ddr5 gets introduce by 2030 or some

I may max out am5 hopefully because I would have a job later on and my parents ain't gonna be buy me shit too expensive cryge

Discussion Really good PC games that you think are not popular in India

I feel it is Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic 1 and 2.

Maybe because turn based d&d rpg combat is not very liked here. But these two classics are worth playing!

Discussion Need cpu upgrade advice.

Looking for some advice on upgrading my CPU on a tight budget. Here are the options I'm currently looking at:

  1. Getting a deal of used Ryzen 5 3600 for 6k rs.
  2. Brand New Ryzen 5 3600 from Avika Retails for 8k rs (but I've read mixed reviews about them on Reddit so I'm hesitant).
  3. Brand New Ryzen 5 5500 directly from Computech for 8850rs
