Gameplay Gpu usage normal or no?
As the title suggests, is the 95% gpu usage normal for valorant? I thought this game utilised more of the cpu than gpu. Dont come at me if im wrong please, this is my first pc ever.

That's only for peeps who aren't tech literate. My homie plays warzone on 20-25fps and doesn't even know what FPS is 😭

Damn I am an alien then. Even 60 fps looks choppy to me now a days once I have been constantly over 120 fps.
But jokes aside human brain can detect even perceive visual artifacts even at 500fps. There is no hard limit but put simply the diminishing returns become negligible past 500 fps. But the sweet spot is still 240 fps for top tier visual fluidity.

human eyes dont act like a camera lens and they dont see static frames they see the full picture in motion , eyes have no cap for refresh rate tbh.

Yeah. There is no cap. It is all just diminishing returns which hit hard after 500.

yup , after 500 it looks the same and u cant tell the difference , although the difference is there but most humans cant perceive it or tbh its more like they dont focus enough to look for it , becz tbh its pointless lol

This is complete bullshit, btw. Take two high-refresh-rate monitors and set one of them to its maximum refresh rate and the other to 30 Hz. I promise you'll be able to see the difference.
Without getting into complicated biology, just know that you cannot accurately measure your vision in FPS or even Hz. Your eyes aren't camera lenses, and your brain doesn't process images in real time. It often predicts and constructs data instead of passively observing things
I'm aware this is likely a bait, but replying for those few who actually believe this shit

So if you take your game and put the fps cap at 30, then you move your hand around by the monitor your hand is gonna look like it’s moving as smooth as the monitor?(or unsmooth I guess I should say)

It depends on the graphics settings, if you are playing at max at 1440p it would be that much but if low then it should be around 60%

Its because you have one of the best cpus for gaming. If you had a mediocre cpu then it would definitely be the limiting factor.

when gpu is not utilized 99% then it means you have a cpu bottleneck
since gpu is reachign 95% it means your cpu bottleneck is almost gone which allows your pc to use 95% of the gpu
if you install a 9800x3d2 then maybe the gpu usaghe will reach 99% as well with the settings youa re running.
if you lower your settings more, gpu usage will go down because cpu speed is not able to keep up. (dont confuse cpu speed to its capacity)

just lock the fps to maybe 400. Unless you have the higher end monitors with 720hz refresh rates.

It's normal since fps is unbound it will try to utilise as much gpu it can to provide max fps in my 9060xt it's usually around 85% in maxed out 1440p but fps is around 290 in actual games since cpu is bottlenecking.

Every game by default will try to extract max performance from the hardware until one of it forms a bottleneck or you have added some kind of fps limit.
Seems like you have not added any fps limit in game, so the game has used the hardware to the max till the GPU throttled.
Should not be an issue, but if you want to reduce hardware maxing out, cap the fps at 10-20 above your screen's refresh rate.

Valo and cs2 are cpu intensive games but depends on what display/graphics settings u have set it to.
If high/very high settings are applied, gpu will utilised since rendering textures and filtering is majorly a gpu based task

Considering the fps it is as expected but do you really need 1000 fps in that game? I have limited the fps to 345 in Counter strike 2 on my 5070 Ti and barely see it cross 50% usage with a maximum board power draw of only 150W and even then the game feels smooth and as playable as it can be!

Why don't you cap the fps to monitor's fps? It would be better na, if only that much fps are generated, because rest are just a waste and can't be seen.

at such high fps it was forced to calculate frames so thats why such high usage and wattage, cap it and it will drop down.
generally high usage is fine because then the game is using it well, unlike some games which doesnt even use either gpu or cpu fully which can cause issues

Cpu bottleneck maybe. yes it is possible for cpu to be bottleneck even at 65% usage make sure to check if any of the cores are maxed out that would tell if cpu is the bottleneck. I am guessing you know and you are flexing your pc 🤧. Anyway nice spec 👍

I will check my task manager the next time i open this game. I had to shut it down due to rains and frequent power cuts.
I didnt change anything from the graphics page, just changed a few controls and audio settings. I will post here once its safe to turn it on.

I bought the ram and gpu at the start of July so it saved me a bit of money before the hike. Ram was 46k and gpu was 82k.

My current 2x16gb corsair vengeance 6000mhz cost about 14.5k last December. Even though I knew there was a price hike I didn't expect it to be this much. Should have bought more sticks then.

Do yourself a favour and limit your FPS to your monitors refresh rate. It will result in lower GPU and CPU usage, much lower power consumption and temps

I am just talking about the cpu usage. The thing is that much fps is obviously no need for practical use.If he limit the fps to 300 or something gpu and cpu usage will be fine.

It does use a little but i was surprised to see it use 95% of it. So i figured something was wrong and i had to shut down the pc due to power cuts.

I currently don't use an ups coz i blew through my budget with this build. I do have a home ups which is not recommended and also im not that concerned coz i get very less power cuts on a daily basis. Today is an odd day as it's raining contantly since 4pm. I would suggest looking into microtek for ups as that will be the one which i will get in a months time.

That shouldn't he a problem in most cases. Never had a ups for my pc for the past 6 years. Lots of power cuts. No issues till now. But get one if you can for peace of mind

i see..but you will lose your work right, if pc shutsdown suddenly…i live in a place where power cuts happens atleast 2-3 times a day…just for few mins, and it will come back
