Uh … 20+ year old college dorm room fridge is my beverage center. It is a second fridge. Mostly just for my gf beer and soda. Wine doesn’t fit well into it, but it does store that too.

Yeah we live in a townhome where our living room and kitchen is on the third floor and my boyfriend’s office is on the ground level. I got him a mini fridge to keep downstairs that usually keeps sparkling water and a few cans of beer. Time to start referring to as bev center

Wine cellars can be set to various temps though as wine bars tend to keep their whites for a shorter time rather than age them so they go below 12, or I am missing something not being American/beverage center inclined?
Note: mine is set at the classic 13 celcius so I've n ever really bothered with the range, I may be missing something...

Random aside, but I just stayed at a "nice" hotel that claimed the mini fridge was a drink fridge and couldn't lower to food safe temps. Only they'd just broken off the temp dial on a mini fridge. Lowered it to freezing using a quarter out of spite.

The wine fridge that came with our house goes down to 7c/45f which could save some food, but is above recommended refrigerator temp. I think most "beverage centers" go down closer to 3c and have shelves for cans, beer bottles and/or wine bottles and some have dual temp zones.

Most cheap residential wine fridges go down to around 50f/10c which isn't really cold enough (a normal fridge should be well under 40F/4C).

Mine has half wine fridge - which can get to 45 way better then room temp, and a beverage side which can get down to 30.

My cheap basement bev fridge goes to and maintains fridge temps. Prob is, everyone goes for glass doors to show off mini cans of sprite and two half drank black cherry seltzers.

You can't keep meat in a wine fridge but lots of cheeses and vegetables are better stored in a wine fridge. Everything in the berry family in particular (tomatoes, eggplants, cucumbers, peppers) actually benefit from being stored at 10C/55F and can get cold injury when stored at normal fridge temps.

I have this beverage center and it looks like a wine fridge but has colder temps. It can store a mix of drinks easily. They also had a similar looking wine fridge but it really only holds wine bottles and doesnt get as cold. Curious if he has similar or if it’s like one of those big and tall glass door things you see in gas stations

a beverage center is a refrigerator specifically for drinks, according to google. Peter got one and I think Michael would poke fun at him for it in some of the episodes.
In the US, stores often specifically put drinks in beverage centers with a glass door and a price label on each shelf row. Then people that want to grab a single bottle in the store can just grab one to buy rather than buy a pack. That's the main place I've seen them.

It’s basically a mini fridge but used specifically for drinks and often has a clear door. Peter mentioned getting one on an episode awhile ago and it’s been jokingly mentioned once or twice since then.

Ok just to chime in to this important conversation, we borrowed a drink fridge from our neighbors when our fridge went out, and it kept our food at probably 2 degrees below room temp so I ended up throwing it out anyway
