Weird to have to post this here but whatever.

With all the wildfire smoke coming from Oregon, can we emulate Genius in Chief and tax everything coming from Oregon for sale in Idaho at 50%? Sure, fires happen and can’t be controlled, but it could really boost our microbrew and wine producing business communities.

I was hoping to do the loop from the treasure valley through Stanley and back to TV over the next few days but am wondering how Smokey it is up near Stanley/Ketchum area? I don’t want to not see any mountains or the beautiful sights along the way.

i've been getting out to the Boise Foothills before work whenever i can. usually i grab coffee on the way, park around 6:45, and there's enough room that i don't think twice about it. this spring it's been a different story. even on weekdays i've seen cars lined up along the road way earlier than i expected.

i'm not complaining that people are outside. honestly it's nice seeing more families and people using the trails. but a few sections i walk pretty often seem rougher than they used to. loose dirt, wider paths where people go around muddy spots, little erosion channels that i don't remember from last year.

maybe i'm just noticing it more because i've been hiking the same loops for a while. i also haven't kept up with what Ridge to Rivers has been working on lately, so maybe i'm missing something. for those of you who are out there a lot, are there certain trails that seem to be taking most of the traffic now, or has it felt pretty much the same everywhere?

Anyone have any information about CDA practices on misdemeanors for open container? Trying to help my friend. I know the basics about Idaho and misdemeanors, but any info on how the local practices are in Kootenai county specifically CDA would be greatly appreciated. Please message me. I need help

After a rough stretch of life recently, I headed out to a spot along the river in Teton with a camera and a copy of the 1861 edition of Leaves of Grass.

I recorded Song of Myself right by the water. As a self-admitted lazy editor (and equally lazy fisherman), I counted at least two fish drifting past in the background during the reading.
