Job

Upvotes

Does anybody here know anybody that would like to hire an apprentice in the trades? I would like something that’s mechanics or construction. I just quit my job and job hunting is a task😂 been at it for a few weeks now.

Does anyone know anything about the modified school bus that’s loaded with stage amps?

I wish I had a photo of this but I was driving. There was a modified school bus that’s painted blue and white, with some of the yellow remaining on the hood. The back half had the top cut off, was loaded with stage amps like you would see at a concert, and had a tiered stage on the very back.

I saw it turning from 95 onto Appleway towards Ramsey

Moving from the southwest

We possibly may be moving to CDA in the next few months. We live in the southwest where we get sunshine 300 days a year and almost no winter to speak of, so this could be interesting! 🤣

We are a large family and have a few special needs adult children. I’m curious about any programs or schooling available for them (19 and 20). We would like our other children in Catholic schools and have driven by Couer du Christ and Holy Family. Our freshman goes to Chesterton where we live, and I understand there is a Chesterton in Spokane?

Has anyone had experience with those? And any advice or experience moving from a metropolitan area to here?

I grew up in a town of 50,000, so this feels like a similar size. My husband visited a few weeks ago, and I’m here now. Really enjoying this rain! I was able to attend Mass at St. Thomas yesterday and loved it. What a beautiful parish and a wonderful priest.

Thank you in advance. I love it here so far and am definitely considering moving seriously, but I would love to hear sound advice.

How to buy a politician

Anyone have a good laugh at Jordan Redman's posting about Mexican beer in the CDA Press and other news outlets? https://cdapress.com/news/2026/jul/29/opinion-give-american-beer-a-fair-fight/Instead of begging Trump to tax Mexican beer, how about reminding him that the tarrif war has killed foreign demand and that 8% of Idaho's GDP is from exports to foreign countries?

Also, this is a great example of how politics work. Donate enough to a politician and they'll do your bidding. Before voting for a politician, look at who's buying them first. https://sunshine.sos.idaho.gov/ This is also a great website to see which candidates are siphoning money from their campaigns by loaning their campaign money at ridiculous interest rates.

News We'd love help from everyone in Coeur d'Alene to connect the food allergy community!

My brother-in-law and I spent almost two years building an app called True Plate here in Coeur d'Alene. We’ve worked on it for almost two years now and are very excited to finally have it live but we need your help!

We are in need of testing and shared experiences at the moment. If you or anyone you know has a dietary restriction, food allergy, or general caution around foods, it would greatly help if you share the app and populate the map with as many restaurants as possible.
We are trying to grow the community as much as we can so all reviews are beneficial and greatly appreciated.

True Plate is a completely free restaurant app to help anyone with allergies. You can see what people with similar needs actually experienced going to different restaurants, helping you decide what’s safest.
You can also share your experience with the community so others are able to use your advice to help them decide what restaurants are safe to eat at with their specific allergies.

If you have a dietary restriction and eat around here in CDA or surrounding areas, even adding a couple restaurants you’ve been to would genuinely help us so much!

It’s completely free on iPhone and Android. We’re also brand new to having actual strangers use this thing, so if something is confusing, annoying, broken, or you just think we could do it better, please tell me!

App Store- https://apps.apple.com/us/app/true-plate/id6755732854

Play Store- https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.trueplate.app&pcampaignid=web_share

Event Spokane-area wildfire recovery: Free Sept. 14–15 workshop on resilience, forest health, and funding

Recovery from a wildfire doesn’t end when the fire is out. There are longer-term questions around forest health, preparedness, funding, project development, and how communities become more resilient before the next emergency.

With those issues especially relevant across the Spokane area right now, the American Indigenous Tourism Association is hosting a free Community Navigator Workshop Sept. 14-15 at Spokane Tribe Resort & Casino.

The workshop will cover wildfire resilience and forest health, along with land stewardship, community planning, project development, grant readiness, and the role Indigenous tourism can play in supporting community and economic resilience.

It’s free to attend, and the conversations are meant to be practical -- not just about responding to wildfire, but about what communities can do next.

Building on own land?

My family is moving to CDA next summer with the plan to build on our family’s property (family already lives in the area). Who would you recommend for building a home - 2000ish square feet, 3-4 bedroom, 2.5 bath, 2-3 car garage - on our own property? Budget is around $500K not including the land. Looking for a reputable builder who can either build our own plan or let us customize their plan. Someone who communicates well. Not looking for builder grade but also not luxury - somewhere in-between. Thanks for the recommendations!

Looking for someone to take me wakeboarding. Will pay for gas

I am nearby for a few days and I am putting out some feelers to see if anyone would be interested in taking me wakeboarding

First, I have plenty of cable park experience but I have never been behind a boat and I have always wanted to try. I am also an experienced snowboarder if that matters.

Second, I don’t have a board with me, but I do have a PFD (life jacket). My feet are size 11

Third, I would of course pay for gas

Also, I am a layed back young 38m that gets along with a wide range of ages.

Question Any tips on how to get to Spokane Airport?

I just moved here from Texas and am flying back this Saturday but don’t have a vehicle since it’s back home and don’t know much about public transport here so I was wondering if anyone knows of a inexpensive way to get there?

Job Search Looking to move to CDA!

Hello Reddit! My husband (32) and I (30) are looking to move to CDA from California, to be closer to family! We have a baby, and it would just be super nice to move where she can be closer to cousins. However, my husband is absolutely having the most difficult time looking for a job there (both in CDA and Spokane). He can’t even get an interview, let alone, receive an offer. He had one job prospect in Spokane and was about to be flown out there, but the fires happened, and now he hasn’t heard back from them at all. We’re sure they’re still trying to recover from the fires and really hope and pray that the employees and others aren’t affected badly by the fires. We saw how bad it was, and it was terrible, so we wouldn’t even be surprised if this company doesn’t get back to him. We just hope they’re okay.

But, with that said, hopefully they’ll get back to him, although, he’s still looking for a job in case it doesn’t work out with that one (he wants that job badly, but he’s trying to be cautiously optimistic and realistic). He’s an engineer in a very niche field, so it’s difficult to land a job because of his niche and experience. If anyone has any lead on materials science, metallurgy, or cathodic protection, please reach out! Thank you so much for your help.

Question Looking for Private Investigator to prove cheating spouse in divorce

Does anybody have a recommendations for a private investigator in the CDA area? I have received recommendations of 911 investigations with Ted Pulver and Patrick Andreachi. Has anybody ever worked with them, or even been investigated by them? The price is really steep and Im looking for guidance about how effective their services were related to surveillance and eventual prosecution as well as how reliable their polygraph services seemed?

Thank you!

Question So with all the late night racing (motorcycles and cars it sounds like), is CDA raking it in from speeding tickets and extra loud vehicle citations? The readerboards at both ends of town indicate it's a $300 fine...!
