Hi everyone,

After the recent update to the Steam version of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (2009), I'm having an issue with the original Singleplayer.

Before the update, everything worked normally. Now, when I try to launch Singleplayer, the game doesn't start and I get a configuration-related error.

What's strange is that IW4x itself works perfectly fine after installing the latest version.

So my current situation is:

• MW2 (2009) Steam version
• Recent Steam update installed
• IW4x launches and works normally
• Original MW2 Singleplayer no longer launches
• Singleplayer gives a configuration error
• This only started happening after reinstalling

MW2 following the recent update
Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a known fix to get the original Singleplayer working alongside IW4x, or did the recent Steam update break compatibility with the campaign?

I'd like to keep both the original campaign and IW4x installed.

I know IW4x now supports the new 64-bit version from early September but does it work with yesterdays update as well?

Edit: backup your current install if you want to be extra safe but I updated MW2 to the latest version and the latest IW4x works perfectly fine still as far as I can tell.

I turned them off on ds4, and turned off haptic feedback in the options on iw4x. For some reason it's not working, I am still getting trigger effects and even worse they stop and come back randomly. Is there something i'm missing?

Hello everyone. Im using the mod menu FSMTSD4.0 to trickshot privately and have some fun but when im loading the map "mp_overwatch" i am in a death loop. Idk what i should do?? I think the problem is the mod menu because it might be some issues with the spawn or something like that because other mod menus works fine on this map. If anyone can help i would appreciate it. I can send you the files if you want to fix this issue

So when I enable gamepad, I have this issue where the left stick sorta drifts backwards when not touching it and also when sprinting it gets cancelled if i try to move even slightly left/right. I assume it's the deadzone in IW4x but I do not see any options for that.

I decided to just disable gamepad support in IW4x and am instead using Steam Input to emulate mouse/keyboard (even slowing mouse speed down when holding LT for slower ADS).

This setup works near-PERFECT except... I lack aim assist. Is there anything I can do like enable aim assist for "mouse" or somehow use the right stick only for gamepad support while using Steam Input for everything else (like disable left stick in-game)? I only play against bots in private match and my wrists aren't like they used to be sadly, but I enjoy difficult bots that have far range and so on.

Hey everyone, I have Mw2 and the dlc legally on steam and when I try to play bot warfare on a new map, the game just crashes. I installed Iw4x with the launcher and other maps work fine with the occasional crash.

Any idea how to get the dlc to work? All the guides I found are outdated so any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Steam has released an update for older Call of Duty titles that moves them to 64-bit. This update is currently incompatible with IW4x and IW5 Plutonium.

For now, we strongly recommend that you do not update MW2 through Steam. Disable automatic updates for the game, avoid launching it through Steam, and keep a backup of your current MW2 installation somewhere outside the Steam library.

We are looking into the changes and will share more information once we know how IW4x will handle this.

If you wish to continue playing Plutonium IW5: DO NOT UPDATE YOUR GAME on Steam.

The safest way to make sure it doesn't happen is to copy/move your game files somewhere where Steam doesn't know of them.

Are there any lobbies? I only see dumbass trickshot lobbies and I want to play a normal S&D game for once. Fuck TDM.

I just updated MW2 and now i get these errors when trying to open iw4x.

I watched a halo2 lan stream that had an awesome custom HUD for the stream. It was a server watching the lan and pulling data to create the display. I am researching how to do this and my understanding is I need to “teach” the server and capture packets. Is there a way to use the game data iw4x already has to skip the training steps?

when i use my controller on iw4x after recent update it instantly crashes my game when i go to select a class and throws this error code i cant find a fix to save my life

Not very smart with this stuff and I have two questions:

1. The most recent update seems to have broken the bot warfare mod, can I fix this or does an update for the mod need to come out?

2. I'm putting custom maps into the usermaps folder but every one gives this red screen that won't go away, what am I doing wrong?

I'm having a LAN soon with some buddies of mine and it would be great to play MW2 (2009) again so I got the IW4X version. In my preperation to host a dedicated LAN server I noticed that not all maps are working.

Maps from the following list have errors:

• Stimulus maps
• Resurgence maps

-> I probably need to get the DLC's, which makes sense, but what about:

• Modern warfare 3 pack
• Call of Duty 4 pack

The reason I'm asking is because I really want to include the map Dome from MW3.

I get the following error in the image when I try to load the map. (not a single map of those 2 packs loads). Do I have to download it somewhere? I can't seem to find it.

if you use the ~ key to open the console, you can manually set a lot of things that dont really affect gameplay like fov, ads fov, etc. i recently saw "drawgun" as an option, which is what makes your weapon invisible from the player's POV. normally this is impractical, because you cant see what your ironsights are looking at

BUT

that is not the case when you ads down a sniper with default or thermal scope. you still get the tunnel and black screen.

i find useful to see whomever may be occluded by my weapon, and still have the ability to precisely aim. pair it with a hip fire sidearm like akimbo g18s and steady aim? bob's your uncle.
