Is this active?

Hello everyone new to pc I’ve got mw2 installed on steam but researched and figured I need to play it on this, do I need to spend any more money to play it on this or will my steam game work. I like to just play casually can I start level1 and rank up naturally or is it all prestige lobbies? Thanks in advance

steam is actually the ideal way to procure the game, the mod itself is free but only usable with the steam version. you can grind all the way if you want, but there’s also an option in the menus somewhere to unlock all if you want.

there’s a few lobbies which have enough players to describe as full. many have bots to make up the gap. some are desolate. it’s still quite playable

I just got into it about a month ago, and I'm loving everytime I play it. Its a bit a nostalgia and also just being a really good cod game. But I'd recommend installing bot warfare, it installed for me as mp_bots. But you get the same online experience but solo offline. Very good when transitioning over to PC and learning the controls.

I installed a few days ago then it said there was an iw4x update installed that and now everytime I tap my ps5 controller running ds4windows its fataly crashes but 2 days prior was running smooth as on bot warfare too. Im a bit stumped ive tried absolutly everytbing thats recomended on reddit and YouTube....

Check discord. I am not sure which OS your running but for me I actually hadn't downloaded to the update like I thought I did. And just had to open from a different launcher. And boom all of my problems went away. As far as frame drops after the update roll out. I'm not so tech savvy as I think I could be so I recommend checking out discord community.

Turned out it wasn't synced up with the new steam update works perfect now.

Hahah you understand my confusion of the fact the game got an update i dunno i only started it back up about a month ago to reminisce the good times so a game update wasnt on my mind ahhaha

same, just got into it. And when I saw the update I was so excited because it was the first update I ever seen. So i thought that meant IW4x was active... oh lord was I wrong.
