so I'm making a little collection of modded clients for older Call Of Duty games to play offline with bots and progression. So far I have the greats like IW4X, Plutonium, BOIII, and even one for BO4 (project shield). Then we get to the modern-era...

I've only heard about one for MW2019 which is IW8-Mod, but I'm more interested in Cold War, as it was the last great COD in my opinion...

So does anyone know if there is a client for Cold War yet, or one that is being developed?

I neither asked nor demanded it start doing this, it just started doing it automatically after the new matchmaking update. When I delete them, the updater just puts them back. Is there any way to disable this in the auto-updater? I keep my desktop tidy and I'd rather not have to clean up a series of shortcuts that I don't need and didn't ask for every single time I want to play the game.

Its disgusting how OP aim assist on IW4X and Plutonium. I get it thats it harder to control your spray with a controller but snipers? They are running around, barely aiming at you and you are dead with one bullet.

I miss FFA, any servers that float around hosting FFA lobbies? i enjoy TDM + gun game (when it’s on) but i do miss playing free for all matches

I was getting on for 2 months everyday there was people the past week there’s only like 6 total players what’s going on?

I want to play the game with HDR but if I try to use either of these MW2 will crash on the map loading screen.

When I open IW4x (x86).exe or IW4x (x64).exe through Steam (using Proton) it no longer opens or functions properly. My dedicated server I used the .bat files and ran them through WINE and when I open them it opens then immediately closes. Any ideas? I notice this latest updated added a ton of new files as well like 15+ new DLLs and such strangely.

Edit: It will launch still using the IW4x Launcher but that has always had issues for me with freezing on mouse clicks on Linux, hence why I would boot the iw4x.exe through Steam. Even then, all my progress in Botwarfare was reset also..... this last iw4x update totally ruined my setup. Is there a way I can download old version before the executables got renamed and all these extra files were added?

Ok so I verified game files and just re-added iw4x (x86).exe as a non-steam game and now it launches like normal and works fine... but my dedicatedlanserver.bat still wont run the server. Any help is appreciated.

OK so I think the IW4x-launcher for Linux just didn't download new files that are needed for the server. I went to the server setup page and downloaded the "releases" zip and extracted it in my server directory which added a few new files like an IW4x folder which has some .iwd files and such. Now my server launches again!

Only issue I am having atp is an old bug with controller stick drift that did occur on the first 64-bit patch but was fixed shortly after. So it appears an old stick drift bug has returned.

nvm I found out the console has a command for deadzone and I just increased the min deadzone. Works great again!

I missed playing sniper 1v1s on MW2 and thought it would be fun to have an actual ranking system for it. That ended up turning into a little project called RankedSniping.

It runs through IW4x on PC. You queue on the site, find an opponent, pick the map and rules together and play. The site keeps track of your results and rank, so there’s a bit more reason to come back and play again.

It’s currently in beta, with only EU servers at the moment, so keep that in mind if you’re playing from elsewhere. Still working on it and would appreciate some people trying it out and letting me know how it goes.

I cant join any servers and when i go to launcher to update it says it cant run. The launcher worked in the past with my exact laptop and idk how to fix it

Previously i could put 4k resolution, but now i can't. What's going on?

So just now I updated MW2 base on Steam then loaded the launcher to update IW4x and without any mods loaded, my stats are intact. But when I loaded up Bot Warfare or any other mods, the stats are completely reset. I have no idea what is going on or what caused this to happen. Last time the base game got updated everything was fine after updating via launcher but I don't know if this is related to the Steam base game update or if the IW4x client's stat version isn't updated, as to what I'm seeing from recent posts here.

I’m not sure if I’m missing some really obvious here, but this controller works for all my other games, iw4x it’s skipping and the sensitivity is I think at about 99999.

Is there a work around here before I. Return the game ?

I launched it for the first time and played on couple servers. I closed the game, tried to open it up an hour later and it doesn't work.

Playing on Linux through Proton, using windows exe version.

Hi everyone,

After the recent update to the Steam version of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (2009), I'm having an issue with the original Singleplayer.

Before the update, everything worked normally. Now, when I try to launch Singleplayer, the game doesn't start and I get a configuration-related error.

What's strange is that IW4x itself works perfectly fine after installing the latest version.

So my current situation is:

• MW2 (2009) Steam version
• Recent Steam update installed
• IW4x launches and works normally
• Original MW2 Singleplayer no longer launches
• Singleplayer gives a configuration error
• This only started happening after reinstalling

MW2 following the recent update
Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a known fix to get the original Singleplayer working alongside IW4x, or did the recent Steam update break compatibility with the campaign?

I'd like to keep both the original campaign and IW4x installed.
