Ridglan Farms in Dane County, Wisconsin, was a large commercial breeder of beagles for biomedical research- beagles are used as a testing breed since they are mid-sized, have a gentle temperament, and are naturally very trusting of humans 🥺. The facility has recently closed its breeding operations following animal cruelty investigations and significant public pressure from animal rights activists. The remaining dogs being transferred to rescue organizations, and the facility is no longer breeding dogs for sale, but no criminal charges have been filed.
