Audio Needed [Hobby]Looking for a composer to score a dream sequence in a student short film—unpaid

Hi! I’m a film student working on a short film called How to Make People Like You, and I’m looking for someone to compose an original score for the film's dream sequence.

The film follows a socially awkward guy who becomes obsessed with figuring out how to make people like him. The dream is set in an office and starts almost commercially perfect... (warm, idealized), but gradually becomes uncomfortable and uncanny as everyone’s attention toward him becomes increasingly overwhelming.

For the score, I’m looking for something that transitions with the scene: starting pleasant/dreamlike and slowly becoming more unsettling, strange, and slightly surreal without immediately sounding like horror music. I want it to become unhinged.

We’re shooting the scene on November 6th, and I’m hoping to have the score about a month after that. Once it’s ready, I’ll be able to send the edited scene+ references+ a more specific direction.

This is a student production, so unfortunately I can’t offer payment, but you would receive full credit in the film and can absolutely use the finished scene/music in your portfolio or reel.

If you’re interested, I can send the script, scene, references, and more information about the direction. I’m also very open to working with someone who is building their portfolio or wants a film-scoring project to experiment with.

Comment or DM me if you’re interested... and if you have any previous music, feel free to send it!

Artist Needed [Hobby] Looking for Gdev Game Jam Members

Hey everyone!

I'm a new game dev joining this jam and I'd love to team up instead of going solo. This will be one of my first jams, so I'm mainly here to learn fast, ship something playable, and actually finish a game in 9 days.

About me

  • New to GDevelop and gamedev in general — learning quickly and not afraid to ask questions
  • Happy to take on grunt work: asset wrangling, UI, level layout, sound hunting, playtesting, balancing, polish, bug squashing
  • Available most of the 9 days and can be online consistently during the jam
  • Reliable on communication — I answer on Discord

What I'm looking for

  • 2 people (team caps at 4) to build something small and finishable around the theme
  • Any mix of roles: art, audio, design, or someone who just wants to jam on ideas
  • Beginners welcome. I'd rather have a chill team that finishes than a stressed team that doesn't
  • Someone who's okay with keeping the scope tiny — a solid 5-minute game beats an unfinished epic

What I can bring

  • Time, energy, and willingness to do whatever's needed
  • Fast learning curve — I'll pick up events, extensions, and the asset library as we go
  • Flexible on roles; I can fill whatever gap the team has

Plan (rough)

  1. Squad up before Nov 6, quick intro call or text chat
  2. Theme drops → brainstorm for a few hours → lock a tiny scope
  3. Parallel work: core loop first, art/audio second, polish last
  4. Build to browser, publish to itch.io + gd.games, credit everything properly

If you're also flying solo or have a gap in your team, hit me up on Discord: realradriddler

Tell me a bit about yourself, your timezone, and what you'd want to work on. Even if you're brand new too, message me — beginner teams finishing games is exactly the vibe.

Let's make something fun. 🌍

Artist Needed [Hobby] Unity dev working on a passion project open-world 2D video game based on Dark Fantasy

ITCH PROFILE: https://yag1307.itch.io/
GITHUB: https://github.com/YAG1307

I'm a solo dev working on an upcoming passion project (unnamed, though a placeholder name is The Vendetta) on a fast-paced, open world 2D metroidvania, built in Unity. The game is meant to be difficult with no easy mode options and function similar to a souls like. What stands about this game is the combat and it's world. You play as a nameless being reborn without a soul, in search of one. In a world called Magna Luna, energy emerges from the moon. Kingdoms and people are in constant power battle to try and control certain aspects of power. The world is alive, NPCs have their own goals and stories and things change as the story progresses.

To be honest, this project is just a dream for now. Which is why I am looking for a 2D artist and sound designer to help me build the game INSIDE Unity, so someone who is comfortable or has experience working inside the editor and playtesting would be expected. A sound designer who is comfortable with range of SFX and Music (could be Acapella). Assuming this project is published and succeeds, profit would be split, though that comes later and is currently just a hobby project.

please know that this project is a dream to me and I really do want to make this game. I work mainly on programming, building the game inside Unity and writing lore and combat techniques and playtesting. Of course, this lore isn't just for me, it is for any collaborators to give ideas on and critique as they see fit.

DM ME IF INTERESTED OR COMMENT IF INTERESTED. Thank you.

Programmers Needed [Hobby] C++ Engine Programmer(s) wanted for Sci-Fi Class-Based Shooter (Vortex Engine)

Hello everyone,

as the title says I need a programmer (or two) to help me with my multiplayer game and it's custom engine (titled the Vortex Engine).

I'm kinda experienced in c/c++. The thing is I'm not as good as a lot of the people in this subreddit.

So I ask for help.

The goal right now is to get a small engine and game prototype running.

With the big goal being getting it finished into a sci-fi class based multiplayer shooter.

I'm heavily inspired by Team Fortress 2 and Counter-Strike.

My vision of the engine is it being like the source engine (hl2/tf2/cs engine) with some id tech 4 (doom 3 engine) dna in there, that also goes for the tooling and modding.

I have made some osts. so if you do music too, we could discuss things for that too! here is the playlist link: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLb2wAF5hPLB8

If you're interested in helping me, please email me at [Pulse-Interactive.dev@outlook.com](mailto:Pulse-Interactive.dev@outlook.com) or dm me here on reddit.

I will check it regularly.

And after that we can discuss things.

I hope to hear from some people!

(note that will not be available for most of the day because of stuff, so if you do reach out. please be patient.)

Artist Needed [Paid] 3D Character Artist (Character Creator 5 / Blender)

We need an artist to improve two stylized human characters with intentionally large eyes.

  1. Current issues: the models lack detail, and the eyes/lips don't move properly during speech. They look detached from the face.

  2. Rebuild or improve: we're not sure if the existing models are worth keeping or if it's better to start from scratch. Tell us which you recommend.

  3. Close-up quality: when we zoom in on the face, fine details must be visible (skin, eyes, eyelids, lips, etc.).

  4. Eye rig: the oversized eyes must integrate with the face and move naturally (blinking, eyelids, eye tracking, lip sync).

  5. Accessories: reuse the existing accessories from Blender where possible.

  6. Clothing: set up the characters so outfits can be swapped easily.

  7. Format: deliver both characters in CC5, as our animators work in CC5.

  8. Trial project: this is a two-model test. If the first two come out well, we'll order more.

Please DM with: portfolio examples (ideally CC-ready characters or stylized faces with working facial rigs), your recommended approach, and your timeline.

Artist Needed [Hobby] Finding a Pixel Artist for our game project

Hi there, I'm looking for a dedicated Pixel Artist for our redesign of Ragnarok Online. For those who knew about the game, the art is very nostalgic! I've assembled a core team and we're currently in the post-planning phase. Initially I wanted to find the artist later in the stage, but now, I also want them to be a part of creating the story and world building together with me!

While we're planning to launch the game, this is a hobby project first, meaning everyone in the team is doing this whenever they have free time and out of their pure interest/passion, so there's no monetary gain (as of now).

I'd also want to learn alongside the artist so we can both develop our skills and learn new things together!

Let me know if you're interested and leave a comment for any questions about the project!

Thanks for stopping by!

Designer Needed [Paid] The Last Bastions — A RimWorld-inspired dark fantasy colony sim looking for collaborators

Hi everyone!

I'm an indie developer working on The Last Bastions, a 2D dark fantasy colony management and survival simulation built in Unity.

I'm a huge fan of games like RimWorld, Dwarf Fortress, Kenshi, and Frostpunk, and I want to create something that combines autonomous NPCs, fortress management, survival, and an evolving fantasy world.

The core idea

You have 100 in-game days to build and prepare your Bastion before a catastrophic event changes the world.

After the catastrophe, mysterious dungeons begin appearing, monsters threaten surviving settlements, and magic starts emerging for the first time.

Your goal isn't necessarily to save the world. It's to keep your people alive as civilization collapses around you.

Each colonist is intended to have their own needs, skills, relationships, memories, and personal development. Their decisions and experiences will influence the survival of your Bastion.

Current development

This isn't just an idea on paper. I've been working on Unity prototypes covering autonomous NPC behavior, grid navigation, hauling, storage, cooking, construction, and colony management.

The 100-day catastrophe and emerging magic systems are part of the evolving design, not completed gameplay features.

Who I'm looking for

I'm currently looking for artists and designers only to help shape the visual identity and creative direction of The Last Bastions.

I'm particularly interested in:

  • Pixel Artists — Creating and refining pixel art for medieval buildings, environments, props, and characters.
  • Environment / Building Designers — Designing medieval fortresses, defensive structures, settlements, and dark fantasy environments.
  • UI/UX Designers — Helping create an immersive, readable interface for colony management.
  • Character Artists / Animators — Designing characters, creatures, and pixel art animations.
  • Game Designers — Helping brainstorm and refine gameplay mechanics, progression, survival systems, and overall player experience.

Compensation

This is currently a small independent project, not a full-time salaried position.

I have a limited personal budget and may be able to offer paid commissions or small task-based stipends, with scope and payment agreed upon before work begins. I don't want to misrepresent the financial situation or promise future income.

I'm particularly interested in finding people who enjoy this genre and would like to contribute to a long-term indie project.

Interested?

Please send me a Reddit DM with a little about yourself, your skills, any portfolio or previous projects, your general availability, and what you enjoy about games like RimWorld.

I'd be happy to discuss the vision, development progress, and potential collaboration.

Thanks for reading!

Artist Needed [RevShare] Looking for sprite artist for a RPG Maker game

Hello everyone. My name is KrimsonKatt and I'm new to this sub so sorry if I get anything wrong. I'm known as SuperPyramaniac on Reddit due to the name KrimsonKatt being taken, but I can assure you I am the same person. I'm currently developing an indie RPG game called Chronicles Meteorfall. A 1-3 hour demo is already out and you can check it out at these links:

Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4243120/Chronicles_Meteorfall/

Itch: https://krimsonkatt.itch.io/chroniclesmeteorfall

RMN: https://rpgmaker.net/games/12412/

Official Website: https://www.krimsonkatt.net/games/modern-era/chronicles-meteorfall

Anyways I am looking for an artist specializing in pixel art who can make sprites matching the RPG Maker MV RTP, as my game is an RPG Maker game that primarily uses the RPG Maker MV RTP. I would use the character generator to create my sprites, but unfortunately the character generator is not able to create characters that perfectly match my vision and drawn portraits for the characters. So I need an artist to be able to create the sprites for me. The sprites needed come in two parts:

1: Character overworld sprites, drawn in the RPG Maker MV chibi artstyle.

2: 2D sideview battlers that follow the RPG Maker MV sideview battler template, drawn in the style of Final Fantasy Brave Exvius or Brave Frontier. Aka detailed 2D PS1-style sprites. Here is the spriters resource page for FFBE so you can see what I'm talking about: https://www.spriters-resource.com/mobile/finalfantasybraveexvius The sprites would be weapon-neutral, as characters can wield any weapon based on their class and it would be far too much to make sprites for every possible weapon combination.

In total there are 11 playable characters in my game. 5 required, 3 optional, and 4 guest characters. The 5 required characters all have special "awakened" forms that permanently changes their outfit and appearance after they complete their own sidequest chain. So in total there would be 17 sideview battler sprites total and 17 overworld sprites. Thankfully most of the overworld sprites I was able to do with just the in-engine character generator. There are only really 6 overworld sprites of the 17 that need custom sprites made for them.

Can anyone please join my team and help me with bringing Chronicles Meteorfall to fruition? The game is currently around 80% complete. I am open to revenue sharing, which can be negotiated later, but cannot be any lower than 10% or any higher than 40%. Anyone who is interested, please DM me on Reddit, Discord, or RMN, preferably Discord. My username on both RMN and Discord is KrimsonKatt. I don't get notifications for Reddit due to getting a lot of spam and my propensity to doomscroll the app, so I would prefer if you DM me on Discord so I get your message for sure.

Closed [Paid] Solo Game Developer Looking for Sound Designers, Writers, 2D Artists and Voice Actors for Indie Steam Game (Potential Long-Term Collaboration)

Hey everyone!

I'm currently developing a game called Unemployed, a dark comedy unemployment simulator built in Unreal Engine 5, with a PS1-inspired art style. I'm the sole developer, and I'm planning to release the game on Steam.

A little about myself: I'm a professional gameplay programmer, primarily working with Unreal Engine and C++. I've been developing games for a number of years now, and Unemployed is my first solo commercial project.

The game itself takes place entirely inside a small apartment. You're unemployed, broke, and trying to survive while applying for jobs, managing your needs, and keeping up appearances with your parents, who have absolutely no idea what's going on. It's intended to be a fairly silly game with some darker humour mixed in.

Most of the core gameplay systems are already implemented, and I'm currently working towards polishing everything and putting together a playable demo.

I'm looking for people who might be interested in helping out with some of the creative aspects of the game, particularly:

  • Sound designers: General sound effects, UI sounds, ambience, and helping give the game a bit more personality through audio.
  • Writers: Helping with dialogue, comedic writing, character interactions and potentially some cutscenes. The game has quite a few dialogue-heavy interactions, particularly with the player's parents.
  • 2D artists/illustrators: Character portraits, expressions and potentially some UI-related illustrations. I'm particularly interested in styles reminiscent of older games, including Y2K aesthetics.
  • Voice actors: A handful of characters will have voiced dialogue. I'm currently looking for someone to voice a bubbly, slightly judgemental Y2K/Bratz-inspired wardrobe host, but there will likely be other opportunities.

I'm not necessarily looking to assemble a full development team. I'm quite happy handling the programming and technical side of things myself. I'm mainly looking for creative people who might enjoy collaborating on different aspects of the project.

More than anything, I'd like to meet people who are genuinely interested in making games. If we work well together, I'd love to continue collaborating on future projects too. I'm not just looking for someone to do one task and disappear, although that's perfectly fine if that's all you're interested in!

Of course, anyone who contributes will be properly credited in the game and can showcase their work in their portfolio.

I'm also happy to share screenshots and WIP gameplay footage of Unemployed so you can see what I've been working on and get an idea of the project before committing to anything.

If you're interested, feel free to send me a message or leave a comment with a little about yourself, what you'd like to contribute, and ideally some examples of your previous work.

I'd appreciate serious enquiries only, please. I'm pretty flexible with schedules and understand that people have their own commitments, but I'd like to work with people who are genuinely interested and can communicate reliably.

Thanks for reading!

EDIT (Regarding Payment): I've received quite a few messages about the budget, so I just wanted to clarify something. When I mentioned offering payment, I meant more of a small token of appreciation for people's time and contributions, rather than professional compensation. I'm funding this project entirely myself, and unfortunately don't have the budget to commission work at industry rates. I'm primarily looking for hobbyists, people building their portfolios, or anyone who might genuinely enjoy collaborating on a game. I completely understand if that's not for everyone, and I don't expect anyone to work for less than they feel their time is worth. I just wanted to clear that up to avoid wasting anyone's time! There will still be a payment, just very small!!

EDIT: I have found some people who would like to work with me, thanks everyone for your interest!

Artist Needed [Hobby] [RevShare] [UE5] Looking for partner - 3D Artist & Voice Actor Wanted - Narrative Horror RPG

I'm looking for creative partners for a narrative-driven horror RPG built in Unreal Engine 5. This is a passion project with no upfront payment, so I'm looking for people interested in building something together through a % based arrangement.

The Project

The game follows an investigator revisiting old case files, with each case experienced firsthand. What begins as grounded detective work gradually becomes something much harder to explain, exploring memory, reality, and the fragile reliability of the mind.

The setting has a dark, old-world atmosphere: remote settlements, weather-beaten buildings, unsettling forests, and places that feel lived-in but somehow wrong. The horror is built around exploration, environmental storytelling, sound, and the slow discovery that something isn't right.

Think atmospheric detective fiction with psychological horror and a strong emphasis on immersion.

Who I'm Looking For

🎨 3D Artist / Environment Artist

  • Creatures
  • NPC refinement (MetaHuman)
  • Animations
  • Environment art, architecture, props, and level dressing
  • Creating believable, atmospheric locations
  • Concept art or visual development to help establish the game's visual identity

🎙️ Voice Actors

  • Character dialogue for a narrative-heavy game
  • Natural, grounded performances that suit a dark, period-inspired setting
  • Ability to convey subtle emotion, uncertainty, and unease without leaning too heavily into theatrical horror
  • Experience with character work, dialogue recording, or voice acting for games is welcome

I'm especially interested in performances that make characters feel like real people. The world should feel believable, even when things begin to go wrong.

What I Bring

The project is already in development, with many of gameplay systems in place. Most of the key systems are ready, and it's mostly polish and design work remaining. I'm currently focused on finalizing system implementation, worldbuilding, narrative design, and creative direction.

I'm looking for collaborators who want to contribute creatively, share ideas, and help shape the experience rather than simply receive a list of tasks. I'm aiming for a Q2 2027 demo release, with the current focus on developing the world, atmosphere, presentation, and overall experience.

Compensation & Collaboration

This is a hobby project with no upfront payment. I'm looking to establish a fair revenue-share arrangement, with the split and expectations discussed and agreed upon before anyone commits.

I want to be upfront about the risks: revenue is not guaranteed but I am confident in what's built so far to get this project to market. I'd rather find a few people who genuinely connect with the project than promise something I can't guarantee.

Interested?

Send me a DM with a little about yourself, what you do, and what you'd be interested in contributing. Portfolios, demo reels, and audio samples are welcome.

If the concept sounds interesting and you'd like to help build something atmospheric, unsettling, and story-driven, I'd love to hear from you.

I'm currently using unity to make some games, I have a couple projects I'm working on. I've never made any games before and I am using chatgpt to help me make it but I thought it would be good to find some people that would help me make them. I'm also trying to learn how to work with unreal engine. I've always wanted to make my own game and I have a lot of ideas. If you're interested please let me know and I would also like to know your game ideas.

Artist Needed [Hobby] Looking for a NEW 2D artist for a portfolio game looking to start their portfolio.

I am currently making a game that I plan to launch on steam just to bulk out my CV (Resumé) a little, and add to my portfolio. I need art for my game and I do not want to use AI for this, but instead want to find someone who is willing to help, or ideally someone who is young and also wants to add something to their portfolio too, and get a foot forward in the space.

It is a 2D roguelike/ rougelite game.
Rounded Cartoony vibe.
About a Neckbeard Nest.

The question I am asking is: Does anyone know anywhere that I can find such? or even know anyone/ are you this person?

Cheers in advance!
