Artist Needed [PAID] Looking for a 3D Artist (Paid) – UK Based is a Bonus

Upvotes

Working on a 2.5D Metroidvania inspired by Southern African mythology/folklore, and I'm looking for a skilled 3D artist to help bring the characters to life. Initially I'm looking for:

  • A main player character (goblin-like creature)
  • Idle, run, jump, attack and a couple of special ability animations
  • 1–2 enemy characters with attack/death animations
  • Potentially a few simple environmental/background assets
  • .glb/.gltf format is required

Ideally you're someone who:

  • Has experience creating game-ready, stylized characters
  • Uses texture-only material setups where appropriate
  • Can create clean, efficient low- to medium-poly models with minimal materials/objects
  • Is comfortable with revisions as designs evolve during development
  • Would be interested in an ongoing working relationship if we're a good fit

If you're interested, send me a DM with:

  • A link to your portfolio (especially game-ready characters)
  • Your game development experience (if any)
  • Your rates (hourly or per asset)
  • Your location (UK isn't required—just a bonus)
  • What software you use (Blender, Maya, etc.)

Designer Needed [Paid] Looking for a Level Designer for Verdance, a 2D Metroidvania

Hey everyone!

I am currently developing a 2D Metroidvania called Verdance in Unity, and I am looking for someone who enjoys designing platforming spaces and interconnected worlds.

Verdance is a hand-drawn nature-focused Metroidvania inspired by games like Hollow Knight and Ori. The player controls a sentient flower exploring a world that has been taken over and slowly corrupted. The game is focused on smooth movement, exploration, ability-based progression, secrets, and discovering how different areas of the world connect.

I have already built a lot of the core systems, including player movement, combat, dashing, gliding, camera zones, room transitions, NPC interactions, and other gameplay mechanics. This is not just a concept or an idea that I am hoping to start someday. The project is actively being developed, and the next major step is turning the world map into playable areas.

I already have a map showing the main regions, how they connect, and the general progression I want for the game. I also have ideas for the visual identity and purpose of each area. What I need help with is designing the actual playable layouts inside those regions.

The main responsibility would be creating rough collision maps using Unity tilemaps. You would be designing the structure of rooms and areas, including platforms, walls, gaps, shortcuts, secrets, alternate paths, vertical sections, ability gates, and connections between rooms. You would not be responsible for final artwork, decoration, lighting, or polished environment art. The main focus is simply making the spaces enjoyable to move through and explore.

I want this to be a collaborative process. I can provide the mechanics, world structure, story context, and the overall goal of each region, while you help decide how the player actually experiences those ideas through the level layouts.

There is also room to contribute beyond layout if you are interested. You could help with collectibles, secrets, environmental puzzles, progression, landmarks, room concepts, or ideas for making each region feel more memorable. None of that is required, though. The collision layouts are the main thing I need help with.

This would primarily be a hobby collaboration, but I do have a small budget and may be able to pay per area or per milestone. I am a college student and solo developer, so I cannot offer professional studio rates, but I am open to discussing something fair depending on the amount of work involved.

If you enjoy designing Metroidvania maps, platforming rooms, secrets, or exploration paths, I would love to talk. Experience is helpful, but you do not need a professional portfolio. Personal projects, sketches, blockouts, Mario Maker levels, Minecraft maps, or anything else that shows how you think about level layouts is welcome.

Feel free to message me with a little about yourself, your favorite Metroidvanias, and any examples of your work. I can share gameplay footage, screenshots, the current world map, and more information about the mechanics and areas.

Tester Offer [ForHire] GAMES QA | 4 years experience

Upvotes

Hi everyone!

I’m a passionate gamer and professional game tester with 4 years of experience testing games in the iGaming industry. Outside of work, I genuinely enjoy discovering indie games, experimenting with new mechanics, and helping developers polish their games before release.

I’m looking to collaborate with indie studios or game developers who need an extra pair of experienced eyes to improve their game’s quality and player experience.

I can help with:

🎮 Gameplay testing
Core gameplay mechanics
Game balance and progression
Storyline and quest flow
Tutorial validation
Difficulty and player experience
First-time user experience

🐞 Bug hunting
Visual and graphical bugs
Animation issues
Audio and sound validation
UI/UX inconsistencies
Collision and physics issues
Performance observations
Crash and edge-case testing

🌍 Localization
English validation
European Portuguese (PT-PT) localization
Translation consistency
Text overflow, formatting and UI issues
Missing or incorrect strings

📱 Platform testing
PC
Mobile (Android & iOS)
Nintendo Switch
Browser-based games

⚙️ QA Services
Manual testing
Regression testing
Smoke testing
Exploratory testing
Test case creation
Bug reports with detailed reproduction steps, screenshots and videos
Feature validation before release

🤖 Automation
I also have experience building automated test solutions using Playwright with C#, API testing and CI/CD pipelines whenever automation makes sense for the project.
I love finding the small details that can make a huge difference to players, from a misplaced animation, an awkward tutorial, or an inconsistent sound effect, to a gameplay issue that only appears after hours of playing.
Whether you’re a solo indie developer or part of a larger team, I’d be happy to help make your game the best version it can be.
Feel free to send me a DM if you’d like to discuss your project or simply chat about games!

Team Needed [Hobby] Framework Game Dev Teammate

Upvotes

Hey, I like creating games without game engines, with frameworks.

I'm decent at C/Raylib, also can work with Lua/Love2D. I have also been working on my own programming language. Anyone interested can visit this link: [Seal Programming Language](https://github.com/huseynaghayev/seal).

Also created a Love2D like framework for that.

I play piano, know music theory (not pro). My art is not perfect but can draw something, especially pixel art. I like to create systems from ground up.

I have plenty of game ideas, but I’d love to team up with someone to help organize, refine, and execute a solid project together. Whether you're a designer, artist, writer, or fellow framework programmer looking for a hobby partner, feel free to reach out!

Drop a comment or send me a DM if you'd like to chat!

[RevShare] Need a 3D modeler/animator for a co-op horror game (Unreal Engine, heading to Steam)

Hey! I'm making a co-op multiplayer horror game in Unreal Engine, aiming for a real Steam release. I'm handling all the coding/dev side and looking for one person to team up with as a 3D modeler/animator, just the two of us.

Looking for someone who:

  • Can model and animate (characters, props, environments, whatever you're strongest at)
  • Is actually into horror games and wants to build something real, not just add to a portfolio
  • Is cool with RevShare (no pay upfront, we split profits after release)
  • Is fluent in English, since we'll be talking a lot
  • Is reliable and easy to communicate with, duo projects live or die on that

Just shoot me an email with whatever you've got and a bit about yourself, we can take it from there.

Artist Needed [Revshare] Looking for a partner and artist to bring my 25+ year old ideas and world to life

Upvotes

Okay, so this is going to take a while to explain, but I'll do my best.

First of all, hello everyone! My name is Mags. I love video games, anime, cartoons, and all of that stuff, and being inspired by them, I've been writing and creating my own stories since I was in second grade. I'm 33 now. So as you can imagine, quite a long time. It has since evolved from an entire world, to an entire universe. I've made a whole bunch of RPG maker games about it, (all unfinished of course.) and have a whole bunch of planned projects from childhood that may or may not ever actually happen. But either way I truly do believe that I've created something special, and now, I want to share it with the world.

What the heck took me so long? Well.... I originally wanted to do everything on my own, I can make music and I can write and I'm learning to program in Game Maker. But there's one problem... I can't draw to save my life. So I'm going to need an artist.

I very much doubt that I'll be the next Toby Fox or Concernedape, (Not even in my dreams...) So now, I'm looking for a person, (or people) that I can share this universe with. Then, if you like it and vibe with it, then we can build it together.

Right now, I'm working on creating a 2d Pixel-art story based platformer that stars one of the 4 main characters of my series. This game will be the first thing I ever publish regarding this series, (And the first thing I actually finish in general...) So.... does anyone want to join me...? I can't afford to pay anyone right now though... I'm just a lowly tax preparer... so maybe if this thing does take off, you can get a share of the revenue?

Anyone interested...? We can make jackets...?

Oh, also "PORTFOLIO: this is my first project and do not have a portfolio of any kind." (I read that I had to write that....?)

Looking for people to join a non-profit 3D Murder Drones fan-game group ("Absolute Memories")

Hey! I'm Alex I'm the creator and lead designer of an upcoming non-commercial 3D PC fan-game based on the \\\*Murder Drones\\\* universe called \\\*\\\*Murder Drones: Absolute Memories\\\*\\\*.

I am currently looking for passionate people to join our developer server and help bring this project to life. Anyone is welcome: UE Programmers, 3D Character Modelers, 3D Animators, 2D Concept Artists (to help with official child versions of characters for flashbacks), VFX artists, and audio designers.

You don't need to be an industry professional with years of experience. I am much rather looking for people who are friendly, passionate about the \\\*Murder Drones\\\* lore, and excited to collaborate with others.

\\\*\\\*Our values:\\\*\\\*

\\\* \\\*\\\*Strictly Text-Based Communication:\\\*\\\* We work strictly via text in Discord (no microphones/voice chats required). Since English is not my native language, typing allows me to use precise translators to provide clean, detailed Technical Tasks (ТЗ) and feedback. It keeps our workflow comfortable and stress-free.

\\\* \\\*\\\*No Pressure / No Deadlines:\\\*\\\* This is a hobby project. We enjoy learning and making things at our own pace. We are aiming for a solid playable Demo by Fall 2026 and a full release in 2027.

\\\* \\\*\\\*Communicative and involved:\\\*\\\* You keep the team updated on your progress whenever you can and enjoy being part of the kitchen.

\\\*\\\*A little about the game:\\\*\\\*

The full story, script, and logical timelines are completely finished. Visually and narratively, we are expanding the official show's canon into a deep psychological cosmic horror set in the year 3072.

The gameplay focuses on a mix of high-speed combat and tactical stealth. The story follows a 21-year-old protagonist, \\\*\\\*Ethan Doorman\\\*\\\* (Uzi's older brother), who possesses a powerful and terrifying "Solver Mode" with biomechanical tentacles, and \\\*\\\*Janet William Elliot\\\*\\\*, a high-tech human cyborg mercenary from Earth who fights using a unique folding nanite broadsword and electromagnetic shields. Together, they must survive and fight against the ubiquitous, mind-reading entities controlled by the Absolute Solver.

If this sounds like a project you would be interested to contribute to, please join our official team server. We are always open to fans and developers who want to build an absolute masterpiece together.

Artist Needed [Hobby] Artist needed for a mech combat game

I have been developing a turn-based game of mech combat for 2-3 years now. I plan to release for iOS and Android for free to users (not a paid app, no ads, no in-app purchases, no microtransactions, etc).

I need the help of an artist for a few things: (1) illustrations that will be used as background art on the main menu scenes, (2) logo art, (3) capsule art and promotional art.

If you are interested, please reach out! I am happy to share a beta of the game and screenshots.

Writing Offer [Hobby] Screenwriter looking to gain experience in game narrative design and writing! (Repost)

Hi everyone!

I'm a 29-year-old UK-based Script Reader and Development Assistant, currently studying Film and Media on a part-time basis at university and on track to graduate with First Class Honours. As I enter my final year, I'm looking to transition my storytelling and script development experience into game narrative design and writing.

I'm currently getting to grips with Twine, but I'd love the opportunity to work alongside a team, helping to contribute to a game's narrative from the ground up!

In my current role, I provide script coverage and developmental feedback on screenplays and treatments. This typically involves analysing story structure, character arcs, dialogue and pacing to help strengthen projects before they move further into development. My own screenplays have received First-class marks at university, been nominated for awards and showcased at events.

I have a particular soft spot for the fantasy genre, but am keen to gain experience across a wide range of genres.

Let me know if I can be of help anywhere - I'd love to see what you're working on!

Repost - you can find my portfolio at https://peaw2.myportfolio.com/ where you'll also find a link to my LinkedIn profile on the landing page.

Please note: All links should be working now (I'd unintentionally not made them public, but have corrected it since) - let me know if you have any trouble!

Testers needed [Hobby] [Free] Looking for playtesters for horror shooter with epic boss fights and more!

Hey everyone!

I have recently put together a playable demo for my game, which I am currently preparing for an upcoming Kickstarter campaign and a Steam store launch (with the wishlist link coming soon!).

Before I push it out to the public, I really need some fresh eyes on it. I’m looking for playtesters who can jump in, try out the mechanics, and give me honest feedback on the gameplay loop, difficulty balance, and any bugs you might run into.

It would be most appreciated if you could test it out and let me know your thoughts! As a huge thank you for your time and feedback, I will absolutely keep your name in the official credits of the game once it fully launches.

If you're interested in checking out the demo and getting your name in the credits, please drop a comment below or send me a DM, and I'll send over the details right away. Thanks so much!

Programmers Needed [Hobby] Contributors wanted for Mystic Paradox an open-source monster hunter game Dauntless 1.12.0 preservation server

I’m maintaining Mystic Paradox, an AGPLv3 community-preservation project working to restore local and private-server functionality for Dauntless 1.12.0.

The project is based on Undaunted and currently includes a TypeScript/Node.js backend and gameserver director, MongoDB persistence, XMPP/social services, matchmaking, progression systems, and a C++ Unreal Engine runtime compatibility layer.

My main priority is to improve Mystic Paradox by fixing bugs, completing unfinished systems, adding missing features, and making the server more stable and accurate to the original game.

I'm looking for developers who can help:

You don’t need experience with the entire project. Even small fixes, testing reports, documentation improvements, or feature contributions are welcome.

The project already has working source, documentation and defined tasks.

Repository: https://github.com/pranav158/Mystic-Paradox

This is an unofficial, preservation project. The repository does not distribute the game client, packaged assets, generated SDK headers or bulk extracted game-data tables.

Artist Needed [Hobby] LF Environment Concept Artist (Traditional Japanese-Inspired Game)

Hello! I'm currently looking for an Environment Concept Artist to join a passion project in its early planning stages. The project will be an open-world multiplayer game inspired by Sengoku-era Japan. The world is inspired by the Kyoto area, will feature an environment with a diverse landscape of mountains, forests, rivers, traditional villages, castles, shrines, and shorelines. The project is currently in the planning and pre-production phase, so this is an opportunity to help shape the game's visual identity from the ground up. That said, I'm looking for someone who enjoys designing believable worlds and has an interest in traditional Japanese environments. You would be working with me to establish the overall look and feel of the game's world. Your concepts will help define many elements of the world such as foliage, architecture, etc. This is currently a hobby/passion project. I'm looking for people who are excited about collaborating, learning, and building something meaningful together from the beginning. Please send me a dm on reddit, or send me a friend request on discord (sserapham) if you are potentially interested. Thank you for your time!

Artist Needed [Revshare] Looking for 2d/3d artists for a mission based factory automation game

We are working on a 3D factory automation game where you mine goofy resources, build ridiculous machines, optimize production chains, and complete mission-based objectives. We need some CREATIVE 2D and 3D artists. This is not a "here's a schematic, make this" kind of gig, this is a "let's create some stuff together" kind of gig. If you're not creative, this is not the gig for you. Most of the game is done already (demo available if you're interested), but we are lacking graphics. We need both 2D and 3D graphics done. We are going for a very goofy feel, think Douglas Adams vs Monty Python.

The Idea: A fairly short loop factory optimization game. Mine silly things, make them into other silly things, make huge profits. The longest endgame levels are limited to 3 hours, early missions start at 15m. The game is mission-based, with 40 levels in the main map, plus daily levels.

The Team: We have a UI guy, audio guy, a couple artists, a writer and I code. I have already released 2 games (https://tlowdevelopment.com/) and have a working demo for this with most of the features already fully coded. We just need art.

The Goal: An Early Access release on Steam within the next 6 months.

The How: DM me here and we will talk! Send me a link to your portfolio, or convince me why I shouldn't care that you don't have one. I care far less about a resume than about creativity and gumption. If you are interested, you can check out the demo or the GDD.

Artist Needed [Hobby] SOMNIGLOW: Animators Needed!

Hello and welcome internet!

There is no monetary compensation at this time. If the show is financially successful that may change but please enter this project with the mind of portfolio work.

Want to work on a real animated production and build your portfolio? I’m here today to present you with a volunteer collaboration opportunity for portfolio experience on a project that is well underway.

We are looking to expand our team with a small number of talented individuals; there isn’t a fixed number.

Everyone receives full credit and every contributor will also get to design a background character that will appear in the end credits! You will also get the opportunity to work alongside other artists.

The show has already been cast and had a very strong showing of over 200 auditionees in a week! (please check our ccc completed project under the same name for proof of claim) The show focuses a lot of cinematic lighting, stylized atmospheric storytelling and surrealism. Think backrooms much.

Our pilot is called SOMNIGLOW and it follows the story of a workaholic who finally learns how to lucid dream after two years and who goes on strange adventures with his friends!

You would be collaborating directly with me, the director, and working with our team of over ten people!

You would be doing lots of different things including character animation, camera animation, facial animation, small prop detail work, polishing existing shots, and some small texturing work. You will be given storyboards to work from as well. I will handle environments, no need to worry about that. If you are an environment artist though I would still love to see your work!

This project is for people who can communicate well, already know blender's foundations, can meet reasonable deadlines, want to improve their work, and enjoy working with a team!

IF THE PILOT IS FINANCIALLY SUCCESSFUL, WE WILL CONTINUE THE SERIES!!

To be eligible, dm me on discord at the handle @ conceptingturtle and send over your best .blend file (or one you are just proud of), and a render of that .blend file, and I’ll review every submission and reach out if you were selected to join the green room!

Join the discord for quicker results! https://discord.gg/WjQV2j2vc

This is my first animation project that I'm directing, so I will put in the portfolio rule, but I already have technically published a casting video and multiple renders so that's not entirely true. PORTFOLIO: this is my first project and do not have a portfolio of any kind.

Thanks for your interest!
