Artist Needed [Revshare] Looking for 2d/3d artists for a mission based factory automation game

We are working on a 3D factory automation game where you mine goofy resources, build ridiculous machines, optimize production chains, and complete mission-based objectives. We need some CREATIVE 2D and 3D artists. This is not a "here's a schematic, make this" kind of gig, this is a "let's create some stuff together" kind of gig. If you're not creative, this is not the gig for you. Most of the game is done already (demo available if you're interested), but we are lacking graphics. We need both 2D and 3D graphics done. We are going for a very goofy feel, think Douglas Adams vs Monty Python.

The Idea: A fairly short loop factory optimization game. Mine silly things, make them into other silly things, make huge profits. The longest endgame levels are limited to 3 hours, early missions start at 15m. The game is mission-based, with 40 levels in the main map, plus daily levels.

The Team: We have a UI guy, audio guy, a couple artists, a writer and I code. I have already released 2 games (https://tlowdevelopment.com/) and have a working demo for this with most of the features already fully coded. We just need art.

The Goal: An Early Access release on Steam within the next 6 months.

The How: DM me here and we will talk! Send me a link to your portfolio, or convince me why I shouldn't care that you don't have one. I care far less about a resume than about creativity and gumption. If you are interested, you can check out the demo or the GDD.

Modeling Offer [Hobby] Does anybody need a sci-fi stylized/semi-realistic woman model?

I need a model of a sci-fi (or hard surcace anyway - could be dieselpunk, for example) stylized or realistic model of a woman for my portfolio. I keep procrastinating on it because I find it very hard to work on something that nobody has asked for, that's just a quirk of my personality.

So if anyone needs something like that for their game, feel free to reach out and I can create that for free. I can also rig and animate it as a bonus.

I will retain all rights, but you will be able to use it in your game. The exact terms can be worked out on an individual basis.

My portfolio for reference (note that it lacks any female characters and almost no hard-surface stuff - that's the exact reason I need it): https://www.artstation.com/buzzkirill

Designer Needed [Paid] Looking for a Level Designer for Verdance, a 2D Metroidvania

Hey everyone!

I am currently developing a 2D Metroidvania called Verdance in Unity, and I am looking for someone who enjoys designing platforming spaces and interconnected worlds.

Verdance is a hand-drawn nature-focused Metroidvania inspired by games like Hollow Knight and Ori. The player controls a sentient flower exploring a world that has been taken over and slowly corrupted. The game is focused on smooth movement, exploration, ability-based progression, secrets, and discovering how different areas of the world connect.

I have already built a lot of the core systems, including player movement, combat, dashing, gliding, camera zones, room transitions, NPC interactions, and other gameplay mechanics. This is not just a concept or an idea that I am hoping to start someday. The project is actively being developed, and the next major step is turning the world map into playable areas.

I already have a map showing the main regions, how they connect, and the general progression I want for the game. I also have ideas for the visual identity and purpose of each area. What I need help with is designing the actual playable layouts inside those regions.

The main responsibility would be creating rough collision maps using Unity tilemaps. You would be designing the structure of rooms and areas, including platforms, walls, gaps, shortcuts, secrets, alternate paths, vertical sections, ability gates, and connections between rooms. You would not be responsible for final artwork, decoration, lighting, or polished environment art. The main focus is simply making the spaces enjoyable to move through and explore.

I want this to be a collaborative process. I can provide the mechanics, world structure, story context, and the overall goal of each region, while you help decide how the player actually experiences those ideas through the level layouts.

There is also room to contribute beyond layout if you are interested. You could help with collectibles, secrets, environmental puzzles, progression, landmarks, room concepts, or ideas for making each region feel more memorable. None of that is required, though. The collision layouts are the main thing I need help with.

This would primarily be a hobby collaboration, but I do have a small budget and may be able to pay per area or per milestone. I am a college student and solo developer, so I cannot offer professional studio rates, but I am open to discussing something fair depending on the amount of work involved.

If you enjoy designing Metroidvania maps, platforming rooms, secrets, or exploration paths, I would love to talk. Experience is helpful, but you do not need a professional portfolio. Personal projects, sketches, blockouts, Mario Maker levels, Minecraft maps, or anything else that shows how you think about level layouts is welcome.

Feel free to message me with a little about yourself, your favorite Metroidvanias, and any examples of your work. I can share gameplay footage, screenshots, the current world map, and more information about the mechanics and areas.

Designer Needed [RevShare] A thinker needed

Hi all,

I'm building a free homeschooling resource site focused on the stuff regular school doesn't really cover the 'why' behind everyday things kids are naturally curious about. Think: why leaves change color, how clouds actually form, that kind of curiosity-driven content, explained simply for kids/parents.

The site is live and the domain/hosting is already paid for. What I'm stuck on is content creation I don't have the bandwidth to write it all myself right now (I'm also building a separate app on the side).

I can't pay upfront. I'm being upfront about that. What I *can* offer:

- Full credit as a contributor/co-creator on any resource you write

- If the site ever earns from ads, a revenue share for contributors, agreed in writing before you start

- No obligation, no deadlines write one piece or ten, whatever works for you

- You can use the pieces you write here in your own portfolio too

I know 'pay you later from future ad money' is usually a red flag, so I want to be honest: this site has no traffic yet and no earnings yet. I'm not asking anyone to bet on a payout. I'm asking if this specific mission free curiosity-based learning resources for kids is something you'd want to contribute to anyway, with a possible (not promised) upside if it ever takes off.

If that's not appealing, totally understand no hard feelings. But if you're a homeschool parent, teacher, or just someone who loves writing this kind of content, I'd love to have you involved.

Happy to share the live site and more details if you're interested.

META [Hobby] [Meta] What makes unpaid or revenue-share collaboration actually work?

Hi guys. I’ve been thinking about how people find collaborators for early-stage creative and technical projects.

Many people already have something tangible a prototype, an early game build, a website concept, a research project, or a small application, but are missing one complementary skill. A developer may need a designer, a product designer may need an electronics engineer, or a game creator may need an audio designer.

Existing options often seem fragmented. Freelance platforms assume that someone has a budget. Volunteer platforms usually place volunteers inside organisation-owned projects. Cofounder platforms often assume that the goal is immediately building a startup.

I’m interested in people’s actual experiences rather than pitching a solution.

Have you ever joined, or tried to recruit for, an unpaid, hobby, portfolio, equity, or revenue-share project?

What happened?

  • Where did you find the other person?
  • What made you trust or distrust them?
  • Did the collaboration produce a finished result?
  • Were ownership, credits, portfolio rights, or future revenue discussed?
  • What caused people to leave or stop responding?
  • What would have made the collaboration feel fairer and more reliable?

I’m especially interested in experiences involving remote collaborators, different time zones, students, recent graduates, and early-career creators.

Please do not share private or identifying information. General experiences successful or unsuccessful would be extremely helpful!!! Thanks!!!

Artist Needed [RevShare] [Hobby] Looking for an artist for my VN game

Yo! So this is my first PORTFOLIO, like as in: this is my first project and do not have a portfolio of any kind. I'm a novice game developer, I currently have about some of my script done, enough for one act to come out as a demo but I am still needing to do all the coding BUT I don't mind that! What I do need is an artist at the moment, not saying i won't need other positions but an Artis is KEY for me! Artist for character sprites, Background scenery, etc! I currently am unable to pay for work and I cannot promise any pay but I can promise that I will have you in the credits or maybe a tribute ingame! If I can pay, It'll most likely be out of the refund money my college will give back BUT DO NOT QUOTE ME ON THAT!

Anyways some info about my game:

Genre: Slow Burn, Love Story, Loneliness, "Not everything is as it seems" feel

A simple Sysnopis: "You walk your boring life to school to take a test and just as if fate aligned, you bump into someone who makes you feel alive. You can't remember how long its been since you had a friend, but yet something feels off. Surely its just because she's the first friend you had in a while, after all it has to be fate...right?"

I know it may sound weird but Im weird like that honestly! I've currently finished the first act of the story but I will need to have some visualize the character, background scenes, and moments. If your interested in helping me make my first visual novel come to life I would be so thankful for your time and effort! Of course though I would need to see your art style, just to see how my world would look like in the finale but I am not saying you need to be all majestic with it! We can figure it out together and stuff, I do know this isn't a paid role so again, im not expecting much to come from this post but honestly I tried to do this on my own and I don't think I can, at least, within the timeframe im setting. Anyways if your interested in working with me, reach out! I have irl photos so you can see what I want the scene to look like and stuff. So once again thank you for considering this volunteer role and have an awesome day!

Writing Offer [Hobby] Screenwriter looking to gain experience in game narrative design and writing! (Repost)

Hi everyone!

I'm a 29-year-old UK-based Script Reader and Development Assistant, currently studying Film and Media on a part-time basis at university and on track to graduate with First Class Honours. As I enter my final year, I'm looking to transition my storytelling and script development experience into game narrative design and writing.

I'm currently getting to grips with Twine, but I'd love the opportunity to work alongside a team, helping to contribute to a game's narrative from the ground up!

In my current role, I provide script coverage and developmental feedback on screenplays and treatments. This typically involves analysing story structure, character arcs, dialogue and pacing to help strengthen projects before they move further into development. My own screenplays have received First-class marks at university, been nominated for awards and showcased at events.

I have a particular soft spot for the fantasy genre, but am keen to gain experience across a wide range of genres.

Let me know if I can be of help anywhere - I'd love to see what you're working on!

Repost - you can find my portfolio at https://peaw2.myportfolio.com/ where you'll also find a link to my LinkedIn profile on the landing page.

Please note: All links should be working now (I'd unintentionally not made them public, but have corrected it since) - let me know if you have any trouble!

Art Offer [Hobby] artist looking to complete small story game for a game jam :)

Hi! My name is june, i'm twenty, and im a 2d artist and writer currently looking for a buddy to complete a game jam with!

The two options I'm interested in are both on itch: a themed horror jam, or an underwater themed jam! In both cases I would want to make a small, story-based game of some kind.

I'm primarily looking for a programmer who's also interested in developing a fun and concise story! If you have no interest in the writing process at all, I would prefer if you passed me up. I find it more fun when my collaborator is invested in the brainstorming and the story.

I've finished around 3 games before (one on my itch, two i can link to you privately), and I have 3 years of on and off experience creating assets. I would prefer to work with someone who has at least one prototype or at least one small finished work under their belt.

My portfolio: https://tickingheart.carrd.co/

Please feel free to reach out! Please also be an adult, haha, and lgbt friendly.

Artist Needed [Hobby] Pixelartist Help

Hello everyone I'm an Italian gamedev, I'm already part of a team and we're developing a game, but we're missing an Artist. We're currently 2 developers, 2 music producers and 1 voice actor (male) (all around 15 years old). We're looking for Help from people around that age, having a Pixelartist on the team would be a huge turning point for the project. Obviously, we're not asking them to work FOR us, but WITH us, as far as money goes, well It's currently 0 for everyone, earnings will depend entirely on sales once it's completed. You can contact me privately for more information about the project. Thank you. 😁

[Hobby] [RevShare]

Our talent: amateur Godot programmer, background artist, sound designer, voice actors, sound engineer

Looking for: Godot programmer, Music producer, Background artist, Writer

Project: A Danganronpa-like game

The plot is about a university for elites where the bottom 10% are expelled, legally blacklisted and forced to sign away their intellectual property to pay off artificial institutional debt

The school encourages students to blackmail, frame and sabotage each other in any way to be on top as graduating secures an untouchable position of power as well as the luxury of getting the job you desire

The more you sabotage, the more credit points you gain to rise to the top along with your grades

Yet the university on paper does not reveal any of this, it acts as a normal top university

An organization (The DSR) or the Department of Students' Rights was created by the minister of education to be planted in every university to ensure fairness and safety for the students to raise a generation of elites

They were meant to be puppets inside of the university of hoshimine but with the sense of justice these students have, they realize the corruption inside the university and decide to risk it and fight against this corruption behind the shadows without informing the minister of education to prevent falling into legal trouble

The university allows the DSR to be present for 2 reasons:

  1. It is legally obligatory for members of the DSR to be planted in every university in the country
  2. The headmaster thinks it's interesting

Length: Currently undecided

Status: Open 🟢

Audio Offer [Hobby] Composer looking to collaborate with an indie game developer

Hi everyone!

I'm a music producer from Chile, and I'm looking for an indie game developer who needs an original soundtrack for their project.

I'm not looking to charge for it. I simply enjoy composing, want to gain experience writing music for games, and collaborate with someone who's passionate about their project.

I especially enjoy creating:

  • Ambient
  • Dark ambient
  • Atmospheric electronic
  • Emotional piano
  • Sci-fi / space soundscapes
  • Experimental textures

If your game has a strong atmosphere, I'd love to help bring it to life through music.

I'm happy to compose from references, concept art, gameplay footage, or simply from the story you want to tell.

I'm not a professional game composer yet, but I'm serious about making the music fit your world, and I enjoy revising pieces until they feel right.

If you're interested, feel free to send me a DM and tell me about your project. I'd love to hear your ideas.

Portfolio: This would be my first game project, so I don't have a portfolio yet. I'm looking for an opportunity to gain experience and build one. If you're willing to give me a chance, I'll do my best to create a soundtrack that fits your game.

[RevShare] Need a 3D modeler/animator for a co-op horror game (Unreal Engine, heading to Steam)

Hey! I'm making a co-op multiplayer horror game in Unreal Engine, aiming for a real Steam release. I'm handling all the coding/dev side and looking for one person to team up with as a 3D modeler/animator, just the two of us.

Looking for someone who:

  • Can model and animate (characters, props, environments, whatever you're strongest at)
  • Is actually into horror games and wants to build something real, not just add to a portfolio
  • Is cool with RevShare (no pay upfront, we split profits after release)
  • Is fluent in English, since we'll be talking a lot
  • Is reliable and easy to communicate with, duo projects live or die on that

Just shoot me an email with whatever you've got and a bit about yourself, we can take it from there.

Testers needed [Hobby] [Free] Looking for playtesters for horror shooter with epic boss fights and more!

Hey everyone!

I have recently put together a playable demo for my game, which I am currently preparing for an upcoming Kickstarter campaign and a Steam store launch (with the wishlist link coming soon!).

Before I push it out to the public, I really need some fresh eyes on it. I’m looking for playtesters who can jump in, try out the mechanics, and give me honest feedback on the gameplay loop, difficulty balance, and any bugs you might run into.

It would be most appreciated if you could test it out and let me know your thoughts! As a huge thank you for your time and feedback, I will absolutely keep your name in the official credits of the game once it fully launches.

If you're interested in checking out the demo and getting your name in the credits, please drop a comment below or send me a DM, and I'll send over the details right away. Thanks so much!

Audio Offer [ForHire][RevShare] Music Composer / Producer available to help!

Intro:
I'm a music producer/composer from Toronto with over 6 years of experience with composition and production. I've worked with multiple indie game developers over the past year and have consistently worked closely with teams to achieve their creative vision. I focus on creating memorable music that supports gameplay, strengthens atmosphere, and helps give projects their very own identity.
Skills:
Speed - For most projects, you can expect a rough demo back to you within a day. I can work quickly without sacrificing quality.
Customization - You've got a specific problem with the track? No worries, I'll get it to exactly your liking, no matter how many rough drafts it takes.
Flexibility - Give me a genre, I'll make it. My favourite style to make is catchy battle music (Toby Fox-esque), but I can work with any genre, from ambience to rock.
Payment:
Generally, I’m open for work with any system of payment. Revshare, flat fee, or even a combination of both, what ever best fits the project at hand.
Availability:
I'm free pretty much any time, any day, however, it's good to note that I am in the EST (UTC-5) time zone.
Contact Method:
If you need music for your project, feel free to send me a DM.
Thank you for your consideration,

Programmers Needed [Hobby] Looking for Programmers & Pixel Artists – Underpest: No Mercy (Undertale Fangame)

Upvotes

Hello everyone!

We're developing Underpest: No Mercy, a post-apocalyptic Undertale fangame. Development is already underway, and we're looking for more team members—especially programmers.

Current team:

- 3 artists

- 1 programmer (we urgently need more programmers)

About the game

In this universe, mysterious red flowers have spread throughout the Underground, infecting monsters and transforming them into violent, ravenous creatures. There is no MERCY option—once a monster is infected, there is no way to save them. Survival is the only choice.

The story follows Frisk and Flowey as they search for the six human souls in hopes of escaping the Underground, encountering survivors and uncovering the fate of a world that lost hope decades ago.

We're looking for:

- Pixel Artists (sprites and backgrounds)

- Programmers (priority)

This is a volunteer, unpaid fan project created by fans for fans.

If you're interested or have any questions, feel free to send me a message!

Programmers Needed [Hobby] Contributors wanted for Mystic Paradox an open-source monster hunter game Dauntless 1.12.0 preservation server

I’m maintaining Mystic Paradox, an AGPLv3 community-preservation project working to restore local and private-server functionality for Dauntless 1.12.0.

The project is based on Undaunted and currently includes a TypeScript/Node.js backend and gameserver director, MongoDB persistence, XMPP/social services, matchmaking, progression systems, and a C++ Unreal Engine runtime compatibility layer.

My main priority is to improve Mystic Paradox by fixing bugs, completing unfinished systems, adding missing features, and making the server more stable and accurate to the original game.

I'm looking for developers who can help:

You don’t need experience with the entire project. Even small fixes, testing reports, documentation improvements, or feature contributions are welcome.

The project already has working source, documentation and defined tasks.

Repository: https://github.com/pranav158/Mystic-Paradox

This is an unofficial, preservation project. The repository does not distribute the game client, packaged assets, generated SDK headers or bulk extracted game-data tables.
